This Jeep has been nothing but a issue. Have been to shops for a year. Check engine light wont stay off, wheels shake at certain speeds, over heats, radiator issues, you name it. The dealer would not cover anything and went out of business shortly after. This Jeep is a lemon. There has to be recalls on this. Jeep is currently at garage again and they are saying possible computer issues again maybe 02 yada. Came out of grocery store the other night and the Jeep would not start. Not the battery. Again the garage called and said it may be a electrical issue with the security of the vehicle. Just had new plugs and wires installed. This is absurd and there should be recalls on these Jeeps. There is definitely safety concerns!!!!!!!! haven't been able to get the engine light off as previously stated and thus still cant get a inspection going on a year! someone please help!!!.

My car was manufactured wrong. . . My engine block is casting sand into my coolant system which then blows out my heater core and radiator. I have spent 5 months under warrenty trying to fix with issue but the Jeep dealer and Chrysler give me the run around. I was trying to get this fix under warrenty but all the run around I got from the dealers has caused my warranty to expire with no fix. I think I have bought a lamon of a car I only have 14k miles , my issue started at 7k miles. Now it is winter time and in driving my car with no heat. I have a new born baby on the way who will get sick inside my car. Jeep does not want to cover the cost of my repairs to replace the heater core and radiator also a complete flush of this sand coming from the engine. This is a hazard for me and my baby to drive around in this cold vehicle . This is a known problem but Jeep\Chrysler is trying their best to keep this quiet. Ill be trying to contact a lawyer soon or maybe a news station.

Vehicle stopped getting heat from all vents on drivers side, including defroster and only luke warm heat on the passenger side. All regular maintenance had been performed on the vehicle. Dealer says radiator and heater core need to be replaced as they are filled with 'sludge'. A little research online and this seems to be an all to common issue with these Jeeps and Chrysler has given no answer as to the cause. While not having heat is inconvenient, not being able to defrost the windshield is a safety hazard. They are currently fighting me on paying for this as the vehicle is just out of warranty. This is an issue Chrysler is fully aware of and has done nothing to fix! further investigating has shown that ignoring this problem and not removing this sludge could eventually lead to engine failure.
Getting ready to go to work I open my driver side door and the horn starts blowing, wiper fluid squirting continuously, windshield wipers constantly going that have now scratched my hood, internal lights blinking, radiator/coolant fan going, all lights on the dash come on, the headlights flashing as they please, the airbag light stays on, and heat stops working. I had to get my boyfriend to disconnect my horn because at 7 a. M. It is very embarrassing to wake the neighbors! I had to disconnect the battery. Now I can sometimes get it to stop by slapping the fuse box cover. At times my car won't shut off with the key taken out so I have to let it jump in first gear while pushing the brake. The first time this happened to me I almost rear ended a car in the daycare parking lot as we all parallel park to get to the front door. This happens whenever it wants to and now that it is getting darker earlier I have to worry about transporting my child with no headlights at night because I have no other means of transportation which this happened to me on the way to pick her up last night 11/12/14. The issue is happening more often in colder weather and is not safe at all to have no headlights working at night because of the electrical issues going on. I took the car to the Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealership and had to wait almost two weeks before they could look at it. They could not find the issue because when they checked everything it did not do anything but act normal for them. I see this being a common issue with Wranglers lately and am waiting for the answer on the petition and investigation before I decide if this is worth fixing and keeping. Not safe at all!.
Cylinder misfire less than 20k, heat chronically did not work, brought to dealer numerous times for no heat, ticking sound coming from motor. City driven vehicle. Major engine issue at 85k dealer telling me not a systemic problem with this particular vehicle. Extended warranty will not cover engine issues. Jeep over heating, no heat, replaced radiator twice at my own expense.
The contact owns a 2001 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the engine overheated several times. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic where the radiator was replaced twice and the engine seal was also replaced however, the failure was not corrected. The vehicle was taken back to the mechanic, who determined that the engine head gasket was cracked, causing pistons 3 and 4 to fail. In addition, the radiator fluid began to drain abnormally. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 136,000 and the current mileage was 148,000. . . Updated 11/28/12 the consumer stated the engine head was cracked. Updated 12/03/12.

The contact owns a 2001 Jeep Wrangler. While driving approximately 45 mph, the engine warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was maneuvered to a safe location. The contact noticed the engine overheated and the radiator reservoir was empty. The contact dispensed coolant into the reservoir. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the blown head gasket. One week after the repair was performed the failure recurred. The vehicle was not further repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the malfunction. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.
Needed to replace radiator after just 60,000 miles. Then still had problems with radiator fluid leaking without being able to find where it is leaking. Eventually the cylinder head cracked at 80,000 miles. Now it needs a new engine costing me $5,000.
Radiator on 2000 Jeep Wrangler sport (automatic transmission)
just recently I was informed by the Jeep dealer where I purchased my Jeep that the radiator was leaking and had to be replaced. Pursuant to conversations with others who know me, they told me it could probably be repaired instead of replaced costing me less. A radiator shop confirmed that the radiator, having a plastic top, had to be replaced instead of repaired. I was also told that normally radiator problems occurred on much older vehicles and that most older vehicles had original radiators in them even if they were repaired. My complaint is simple. I think the manufacturer should never have placed a radiator in a vehicle with plastic parts that can not be repaired especially on a radiator. Chrysler's use of radiators with plastic on top are causing the radiators to leak easier/quicker than normal and they can not be repaired. They must be replaced. This seems to be just another way for them to get cash from consumers by making them replace instead of repair. My Jeep has been garage kept since I purchased it and the radiator should not have to be repaired or replaced this soon since I have taken very good care of it and taken it to the dealer for service and repairs. I think having plastic on radiators should not be allowed to be placed in any vehicle. It wears out quicker and cannot be fixed. Replacement cost is much greater than a repair cost. Thanks, Chrysler! I will never look at another Jeep as long as they continue to use radiators with plastic parts.

Radiator made with plastic which leaks at the top where the plastic is crimped to the metal core. This is an inevitable problem on all Jeep (Chrysler products) made with radiators manufactured using plastic causing leakage before the life expectancy of the radiator is reached. In some cases, coolant is flammable. To my knowledge no recall has been performed.

While trying to use the ac on my 2004 Jeep Wrangler , it was overheating. I took to a dealership service dept. They said it was the clutch fan. Replaced under warranty and told me it worked fine after being test driven and verified. I drove the next day, could not use the air because as soon as the motor warmed up it overheated to 260. I shut it down and had it towed back to same dealership(3rd time). Told them to check thermostat waterpump etcc. . Explained that I can't even drive it now for overheating. Three and half hours later they said it is a radiator restriction and I am 32 nd on a list because apparently there has been quite a problem with the radiator on the Jeep Wrangler but no recalls. They also say they don't know if it is covered under warranty. I have had it less than a year and only has 24000 miles on it. The warranty is 3/yr/36000 I believe. Am checking on htis. Has anyone else reported this problem?.

My vehicle has run rough, idling rough, "bucking", losing coolant and dripping from the tailpipe about a week after the extended warranty expired. I have had major valve train problems and had to have the camshaft replaced along with the gasket, cylinder head, core return, radiator and now the latest is oil pressure gauge sending unit. Oil pressure still showing zero even after replacing sending unit!.

According to internal sales brochures and advertisements the 2003 Jeep Wrangler rubicon is supposed to be the most capable off road Jeep ever. My Jeep has been nothing but problems, which consists of 2 broken axles, faulty brakes, faulty parking brake, faulty u-joint clips, faulty wheel bearing. After paying the dealer to replace parts that should have been covered under warranty, then realizing that they failed to replace another failed part, called to ask about a workaround until the needed part came in. The advice given was to remove the broken axle shaft and drive without it. This caused brake and wheel bearing failure. An attempt to get the dealer to take responsibility for the repair cost took some time to get resolved. Finally, they fixed the problems and voided the manufacture's warranty. Reason for voiding the warranty was misuse/abuse because the vehicle had been used off-road and had mud on the under carriage. This is unacceptable because you cannot market a vehicle as off-road and then void the warranty if it is used in this manner. The vehicle was never submerged, or in mud/water deeper then the height of the bottom of the front bumper. Furthermore, Jeep claims I am a member of a 4wd club that I have no affiliation with and claims a witness saw the vehicle under water. Both not true. Asking for help from the dot to make Jeep stand by it's warranty, or have them not market the vehicle as off-road since if using it off road voids the warranty then this is false advertising.

52,000 on my 1999 Wrangler (have never been "off roading in it). I just replaced the radiator with an after market brand - not Jeeps radiator. I'm in the process of ordering a new exhaust manifold (mine is cracked). Once again I was advised to buy an after market manifold because the Jeep's manifold is a lesser quality. It has been explained to me that both of these repairs are frequent on this model and should be a factory recall.
While driving on a logging road I hit a pothole, the resulting jolt dislodged the radiator overflow bottle. The overflow bottle fell straight down and lodged on top of the steering assembly causing me to loose control of the steering. This happened twice on the same day . In my opinion the restraining mechinisms are insufficent and dangerous. Please contact me at (360)273-3970 so I can explain in greater detail what occured.
Many problems with this vehicle. Water pump leaked - fixed under warranty, gas tank seal leaked - fixed under warranty, seats ripped - fixed under warranty, suction cup marks on window - fixed under warranty, front stabilizer shock leaked - fixed under warranty, rear window seal leaked - repaired under warranty two times and still leaks, instrument panel fails - out of warranty not repaired, radiator failed - out of warranty fixed at my cost, stabilizer arm failed both sides twice - fixed under warranty once and the out of warranty fixed at my cost, exhaust manifold failed - out of warranty - fixed at my cost, clutch fork failed - out of warranty fixed at my cost, leak under the dash board passenger side - fixed under warranty. Of all the problems above. . . Loss of instrument panel needs to be fixed by the manufacturer regardless of in or out of warranty. Loss of gauges is a driving distraction and can result in an accident. Jeep needs to address this manufacturing defect as long as this vehicle is on the road.

Radiator leaking at top where plastic expansion tank & copper finned section are joined. Bonding failure due to poor or defective sealing method between dissimilar materials. Never had radiator replaced under normal operating conditions on 3 yr. Old vehicle.
Replaced radiator and still have leaks coming from somewhere. Letters sent to head office and dealership.
The vehicle has developed an odor associated with leaking anitfreeze. 3 different trips to make repairs, no action on first trip, second trip, dealer replaced thermostat housing, third trip, dealer replaced radiator. Vehicle still has odor at different times. Seat belts have been replaced 3 times on right hand side and once on left hand side due to belts getting pinched in hardtop doors and damaging belts. Belt on right hand has had failure of seat belt inertia lock during hard stop. Electrical system: airbag light illuminated at various times, and at the same time the speedometer and tachometer failed momentarily. Fix was to clean and grease connectors. System is starting to repeat same problem, and dealer cannot find a problem. Steering column lower bushing has developed noise, after rain or onset of cold weather. Dealer states fix is to lube bushing, but problem persists after 4 dealer visits. Rear axle seals on left hand and right hand were leaking, resulting in rear wheel lockup with moderate brake application on damp pavement or sandy road surfaces. Dealer replaced both seals, but nothing was said about possible brake lining contamination or cleaning. Vehicle has had repeated water leakage from around windshield on left and right hand sides, right hand hardtop door hinge attach bolts, thru seals on cowl and around doors. Dealer has replaced all seals, rtv'd gaps, and installed updated door seals, but vehicle still leaks. Also, carpets were water damaged in front passenger area due to water leakage from vehicle body and airconditioning system. Vehicle has been kept for up to two days on two different occasions for water leaks and multiple repair complaints.
Radiator failed. Yh.
Replaced radiator/engine fan.
Due to the design of suspension it is rubbing against radiator hose, puncturing the hose which caused a leak. Consumer has contacted dealer. Please provide any further details.
Radiator had to be replaced due to leaking of coolant at horizontal joint, on top of radiator.
Radiator replaced due to leakage, replacement experienced leakage which is unresolved. Mjs.
