10 Warning Light On problem of the 2016 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 07/02/2019

Takata recall. The airbag warning light indicated a fault with a chime , June 2019. The driver airbag clockspring recall was performed in October 2016 shortly after purchase. The dealership says there was a two year warranty, which has expired. The dealership tells me the repair cost is approximately $1200. 00. My complaint is the replacement parts used in the recall are giving warning indicators like the original airbag parts. I use the Jeep for mail delivery on dirt roads that are extremely dusty most of the year. This is the main reason for the original airbag recall. "the airbag clockspring may ingest dust if the vehicle is subjected to dusty environments, compromise airbag circuits, cause illumination of the airbag warning light". I feel the original problem still exists and the recall replacement parts have failed. I think this is a recall concern. I have contacted fiat Chrysler automobile group recall assistance center , they did not help. I I am paying for the repair. But I feel like the safely problem still exists, and when dust covers this part it will malfunction.

Tipm- door locks shorted out, fuel pump quits stranding the vehicle on the street, will not restart without pulling and resetting the iod fuse, causes airbag light to flash fault, rear wiper quits. This makes the vehicle unsafe or unable to be used. Vehicle was bought new and wouldn't think much about this if through research I had not found how many failures experienced by many have been related to this parts failure rate. Parked the vehicle and when went to restart it it would not resart, then the doors started locking and unlocking repeatedly locking me out of the vehicle with the keys in it. I reset the iod fuse and it started. Then going down the highway the warning lights in the dash started flashing, airbag, tcs, anti theft, tire pressure, abs, stability control all came on then vehicle shut off. It would start then run for a few seconds and die. Through research I found this to be related to the anti theft in the tipm-. Tried replacing the door lock fuse and it started arcing and smoking. Vehicle is parked now with a tipm- on order. As stated previously, I bought this Jeep new and if it was not such a widespread issue with Chrysler products I woul not think much about a part failure at ten years.

20 Warning Light On problem of the 2017 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 11/11/2017

Took 2016 Jeep Wrangler unlimited rubicon hard rock edition in for a recall repair of the airbag deployment sensor. Dealership wanted $50 to do the work because I had a winch installed. My Jeep hard rock edition was designed at the factory to receive this specific brand and model of winch so I refused to pay. I contacted Jeep by phone and asked them to intervene. They refused. I told the dealer I was leaving without having it fixed and my estate would sue them if I was killed in an accident and then he agreed to fix it free. They claimed they fixed it but when I drove off I immediately saw a warning message saying the right front turn signal lamp was out. I made u turn and went right back. They said they needed to order a part. I left. Then my battery drained down. I contacted Jeep and asked them to intervene. When I called to make another appointment to get the recall done right the dealership claimed they needed to order a part. I found out they did the recall repair by soldering wires. 2+ hours later they said all it needed was a bulb. I asked if they had to order bulbs. They said they stock them and denied ever telling me they needed to order a part. They admitted there was still an electrical problem but said that could have been the result of electrical modifications I had made and wanted me to pay them to troubleshoot it. The winch was the only electrical modification and it was installed almost 1 year before I took the Jeep in and I never had any problems before they did the recall work nor did they have any trouble starting it or see any warning messages when I took it in fir the recall in late August. Within 2 miles of driving I noticed the headlights flickering. Within 3 miles all the warning lights on the dash started wildly going off an on randomly and speedometer was going back and forth. They did not properly make the airbag sensor repair.

21 Warning Light On problem of the 2011 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/12/2017

On the 2011 Jeep Wrangler (lhd) dashboard, the airbag warning light flashes on every other minute with a chime, an indication that there is something malfunctioning or interfering with the vehicle's airbags. This has been a recurring issue and concern for many Jeep Wrangler (lhd) owners, including myself, and has been shown time and time again to be caused by a faulty clockspring within the vehicle's steering wheel. This faulty clockspring is the culprit for potential airbag failure in the 2011 Jeep Wrangler (lhd) during an accident or premature deployment when simply driving around. Daimler Chrysler has issued a letter stating that some Jeeps may have a recall on this safety concern of their faulty clockspring that can cause failure of the vehicle's airbags from properly deploying. I contacted the dealership and they stated that I do not have a recall for this issue.

24 Warning Light On problem of the 2011 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 03/03/2017

My airbag warning light has been randomly coming on while driving. I researched the topic to find out that the clockspring was often the cause of this. I filled out a complaint mentioning the clockspring. Shortly after, and perhaps coincidentally, I received notice from Chrysler that my clockspring warranty had been extended to 15 years/unlimited miles. I took the Wrangler into the dealer and diagnostics suggested they needed to change the orc (occupant restraint controller) module. I asked them to hold off on the repair and I would do some research. That is my current status.

27 Warning Light On problem of the 2011 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/16/2016

The airbag warning light is on, but it appears it's actually the clockspring that is faulty. With all the recalls on this particular part, this vehicle is not included in the recall. After market warranties won't touch it.
