2010 Jeep jk - while driving, particularly at low speeds the airbag warning light is constantly flashing or, going on, then off, then on, then off, etc. Each time with the sound and warning light. At higher speeds, it mostly stays in warning mode but if the steering wheel is turned at all, it will start to flash. Apparently there are recalls on the rhd Jeep jk and several other 2007 - 2010 model years. I believe there are several more vehicles involved than what they are claiming and mine should be one of them. I am worried the airbag may not work when it needs to.

"takata recall" recently, on a dry, sunny, moderately warm day I was driving a normal speed on a normal road, downward sloping, at a low speed and the airbag warning light chimed and illuminated. It's been four days and the light remains on, and continues to chime. I have owned this Jeep for two years and have not had any collisions and the Jeep has not been offroad, nor did I have a child in the passenger seat, where an airbag may sense a small passenger. This is a very expensive repair from what I'm finding on forums but also a safety device in a vehicle that should be covered under a warranty beyond a standard 3yr/36k warranty. Seatbelts don't expire nor should an airbag in a vehicle.

The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Wrangler. While driving approximately 40 mph, the air bag warning light illuminated. The dealer diagnosed that the clockspring assembly failed. The VIN was not available. The maufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 64,800.
On the 2008 Jeep Wrangler (lhd) dashboard, the airbag warning light flashes on every other minute with a chime, an indication that there is something malfunctioning or interfering with the vehicle's airbags. This has been a recurring issue and concern for many 2008 Jeep Wrangler (lhd) owners, including myself, and has been shown time and time again to be caused by a faulty clockspring within the vehicle's steering wheel. This faulty clockspring is the culprit for potential airbag failure in the 2008 Jeep Wrangler (lhd) during an accident or premature deployment when simply driving around. Daimler Chrysler has refused to address the safety concern of their faulty clockspring that can cause failure of the vehicle's airbags from properly deploying.

The vehicle displays an airbag warning light and chime that may indicate a failure of the clockspring wiring in the drivers side air bag circuit. Odi investigated the rhd (right hand drive) Wrangler for a clockspring issue under pe11-019 which led to NHTSA recall 11v258 on model year (my) 2008-2012 rhd Wranglers as well as an extended warranty campaign on my 2007 lhd Wrangler vehicles. Current investigation: pe 15-025 has the same symptom as my lhd Wrangler.

Cruise control stopped working a few months ago. Today I started getting the airbag warning light flashing on and off. Looks like I'll be dropping $500+ for a new clock spring. How is this not already listed as a recall?.
While in motion and stationary the air bag warning light and chime come on randomly, sometimes seconds apart over times minutes, online research indicates that the air bag system maybe defective and this issue is a recall matter on right drive Jeeps mine however is a left drive. Started 2/17/2016 and has been going on ever since.

Air bag light goes off constantly. If vehicle is on, warning light will go off and ding every couple of mins, whether wheel is straight or turning. Annoying and apparently common problem. Hope my airbag doesn't kill me.

The airbag warning light comes on at random, my horn no longer works. The dealer said that it is due to a faulty clockspring assembly. I got the recall information stating that the clockspring assembly may become contaminated, but my VIN is not one that is officially recalled. I would really like this fixed as it is a show vehicle. Thank you! (NHTSA campaign id number: 16v290). Also, my gas always splashes out all over the side of the vehicle when it's any where near full. It doesn't trigger the gas pump to stop and splashes back at me every time I fill up for gas. Please help!.

The speed control failed, shortly after that the airbag warning light illuminated. Jeep service had to replace the clock spring to fix the issues. The airbag warning light was intermittent, it would eliminate whenever the stirring wheel was turned and then reset shortly after returning to center. If any force was applied to the stirring wheel I. E. Gently pulling on it or pushing on it it would also cause the airbag warning light to illuminate. The speed control failure was complete. It would not activate at all after failure.
On my 2010 Jeep Wrangler dashboard, the airbag warning light flashes on every other minute with a chime, an indication that there is something malfunctioning or interfering with the vehicle's airbags. This has been a recurring issue and concern for my 2010 and many other Jeep Wrangler (jk version) owners. The cause of this light has been shown time and time again to be a faulty clockspring within the vehicle's steering wheel. This faulty clockspring is the culprit for potential airbag failure in the 2008 Jeep Wrangler during an accident or premature deployment when simply driving around. Jeep has had clockspring recalls previously with their 2007 Wranglers, but this recall has not been extended to the 2008- versions. Daimler Chrysler has refused to voluntarily address the safety concern of their faulty clockspring that can cause failure of the vehicle's airbags from properly deploying.

On a 2008 Jeep Wrangler (lhd) dashboard, the airbag warning light flashes on every other minute with a chime, an indication that there is something malfunctioning or interfering with the vehicle's airbags. The vehicle also no longer has functioning speed control. Three warning lights are two stability and one airbag. The windshield wipers act strange and won't turn off. The clockspring needs replaced.
Airbag warning light coming on intermittently when turning the steering wheel to the right. Horn working intermittently and cruise control unexpectedly turning off. All issues seem to be happening while moving and turning.
The contact owns a 2010 Jeep Wrangler. While driving various speeds, the air bag warning light illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 83,237.
The airbag clockspring assemblies needed to be replaced in my left-hand drive Jeep Wrangler. The Jeep Wrangler already has a recall for right-hand drive models addressing broken airbag clockspring assemblies. Recall number: 13v176000 in the event of a crash necessitating airbag deployment, a broken electrical circuit in the airbag clockspring wiring assembly can lead to non-deployment of the driver-side frontal airbag and will not be able to properly protect the driver, increasing the risk of injuries. In my opinion this is a serious safety risk in the Jeep Wrangler. I received the warning light while the Jeep was in motion, and luckily I was near a Jeep dealership (bill bryan Chrysler Dodge Jeep, fruitland park, FL 34731) where I had the broken airbag clockspring assembly replaced to the tune of $500.
When driving under normal conditions, air bag warning light came on. Light now comes on intermittently when driving and stays on for a few minutes, goes off for a few seconds, and then repeats continuously throughout driving. Looking online, this appears to be the same clockspring failure that has resulted in a recall for the same model year rhd vehicles, and extended warranties on this part for previous year (2007) lhd vehicles. Since this will cause the air bag to fail, I believe this safety recall should be extended to include all Wranglers with this clock spring assembly, not just rhd.
