There is a recall on certain 2005 Galants but I was told not mine. I am having the same problems with my brakes as the recall states. I have had it to the dealer and told the first time that there was nothing wrong. The second time they ordered a timing part but I feel that is not the problem. I go tomorrow to have the part put on. I fear for my safety with these malfunctioning brakes. They make a terrible grinding noise and my car lurches forward about 4 inches and is only getting worse. I asked just because my car isn't in the recall it doesn't mean I am not having the same problem. How long do I need to ride around in a car with damaged brakes before the problem is corrected. I have not had an accident yet and would like to get this problem fixed so I don't end up in one.

The abs brakes smell like they are burning. Had heard a grinding noise. Vehicle pulled to left when brakes were applied. Had the abs brakes changed, after going to dealer's at least 7 different times. The problem with abs brakes still exists.
Automobile pulls to the right side while braking. Grinding noise is heard while braking. Automobile was taken to savannah Mitsubishi on 10-26-98 for repairs. No problems found. I was told that grinding noise is common is abs. On 12-15-98, while suddenly braking to prevent from hitting another automobile, automobile pulled to the right side causing me to hit the curb. Impact with curb caused right front tire to blow. A towing service was called to remove wheel. Mechanic stated that rust had settled between wheel and axle which made it difficult to remove wheel. Since the incident, automobile continues to pull while braking also vibration and grinding noise. Prior to incident, on 11-14-98, manufacturer was notified of the problems with vehicle. A representative telephoned on 12-9-98 informing me to continue to take the automobile in for repairs. Consumer affairs advised me to make a final attempt to repair with the manufacturer which was done on 12-14-98. They have not yet to respond. Manufacturer was also made aware of the incident. No response. Per GA lemon law, I have followed all guidelines establishing reasonable number of repair attempts, requesting final attempt to repair and requesting repurchase of automobile.
