Within the last two months the abs light will appear on the dash accompanied by a loud vibration and a loss of braking power. I had the brakes replaced and that did not fix the problem. This is dangerous and could lead to a loss of braking ability on corners and at highway speeds leading to a crash. Also within the past few months the fuel guage has started to show more fuel in the tank than what is actually in the tank. I called the dealership and provided the VIN and they said that the fuel level sensor recall service had already been performed on this VIN.

I was driving down a main roadway when the brake, vdc, abs and 4x4 lights all came on. The car also started making a bonging grinding and vibrating when I pressed the brakes. I pulled off to the side of the road and turned the car off. I checked to see if I could find anything wrong. I couldn't see anything so I turned the car back on and all the lights were still on but the noise and vibrating had stopped. I made it home without it making the noise again. The next weeks went by and all the lights are still on and it makes the noise and vibration each time I turn the car on but and I pressed the brakes a few times it goes away expect the lights are always on now.

I was driving about 30 mph on a city street and step on the brakes when approaching a stop sign. The brake pedal felt real soft and I could hear a grinding sound coming from the brakes and the abs and vdc lights came on. I had to pull off the road, turn the vehicle off and on again a couple of times before I could continue driving. This has happened to my wife and I 13 times.
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Armada. The contact stated that while traveling at approximately 30 mph and attempting to stop, the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard when depressed and there was an abnormal noise coming from the vehicle as it shook. The contact stated that the abs warning light illuminated and excessive force on the brake pedal was required in order to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70.

I was driving at about 40mph I was coming to a red light and proceeded to apply my brakes when the braje pedal vibrated and shook my abs and 2 other light illuminated on my dash car took several times of applying tge brake to slow down. It fekt like I had no control of braking. The brakes made a grinding noise abd brakes went to less then 50% of original braking power. I turned my car off and on again and lights went off and braking was normal again. This has happened pretty much on a weekly occurrence since then. I've called the dealer and asked if they had any recalls they said no.
We bought this car in 2010 and had been very happy with it. 2-3 times over the first 3 years of ownership this happened, but always at very slow speed right after leaving our driveway. Problem was corrected by turning the car off and back on. This accident was the first time it occurred some distance from home. A car stopped short, causing the car behind to brake very hard. My wife (with our 18 month old son in the car) attempted to brake and couldn't, hitting both cars. Since the accident, the issue has occurred with increasing frequency (3x in the last month alone) - our issue is identical to what I've now found on numerous sites - abs light comes on, very little braking power, grinding noise, vibration in the pedal. Stop the car, turn it off, turn it back on, problem gone.
I was driving then when I went to apply the brakes their was this grinding spring like noise and the abs light was on. This is an ongoing recurrence. I will simply pull over or put the vehicle in neutral and turn the vehicle off and back on thus the problem goes away. I haven't had the vehicle a week by the time this happen.
I was coming up to a stop light, going roughly 40 mph, and started applying the brakes, as the lights were changing, and I felt the brake pedal go "soft" and drop nearly to the floor. I had the brake, abs, and slip lights light up on my dash. I was able to bring the Armada to a controlled stop before going into the intersection, but to do so I had to depress the brake pedal to the floor and it was as if there was a miniscule amount of pressure being applied to the brakes. Once stopped I shifted into park, turned off the truck, waited a few moments, and turned the truck on again. The brake, abs, and slip lights remained illuminated and the brake pedal continued to feel extremely soft. I had to keep it full depressed against the floor in order to stay stopped. When the stop lights turned green, I pulled off the road- out of the way of traffic- and repeated the procedure above that I performed at the stop light. The brake, abs and slip lights continued to remain illuminated.
Tl-the contact owns a 2005 Nissan Armada. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, the stability control and abs warning lights illuminated. The brake pedal traveled to the floor when depressed and the vehicle failed to stop until after several attempts. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000. The VIN was not available. Pam.
On June 6, 2012, while traveling approximately 10 mph I applied the brakes to stop and the pedal hit the floor, there was little or no resistance on the brake pedal and I heard crunching, metal on metal sound. Also, the vdc off, slip and abs lights were on. I immediately pulled over, turned the truck off and on to reset it, and it worked, however, I began to travel a few miles and it happened again. I went to a local service station and code c1179 delta stroke sensor popped up. The technician test drove the truck and it ran well with no problems. The truck was fine until June 13, 2012, while leaving the supermarket it happened again. I was traveling no more than 10 mph and the brakes failed. I tried to reset it as I did before, however this time it didn't work. I had to turn the car off and on several times in order for it to reset. Once it was reset, I began to drive home and it happened again. So again, I pulled over to reset it and after several attempts it worked. This issue is very unsettling due to the fact that I have small children. This is my only method of transportation and I need this resolved as soon as possible.
On a regular normal perfect to drive day, brake becomes spongy and making a compressed-spring like noise. Will not stop car right away. Had to turn engine and restart to get rid of problem. On occasion, abs light come on.
I have a 2004 Armada I bought new in 2005. 08/2011 was the first time my abs vdl slip lights came on as I was braking, along with a horrible grinding noise with my brakes. I was going about 20 mph and attempted to stop. My braking was impaired, and if I touched the brakes anymore, my foot would go to the floor. Not knowing what to do, after trying the brake several times (which was more grinding noises) I shut the car off, waited a few minutes and started with no further issues until 10/2012 when the exact same thing happened. This time I was going 40mph on a 4 lane highway. I reported it to my Nissan dealer. They told me I had to drive it in when this was happening. Then 04/24/13 & 04/30/13 the problem reoccurred. On 04/24/13, I was driving 40 mph at the time that I attempted to brake. On 04/30/13, I was right by an autozone when it happened. They read the code while lights were on, and said the code was 1179. Again, the same lights were on, and again, they turned off after restarting the car. I called Nissan service who told me again that they need to read the code with lights on. They stated 1179 "meant nothing to them" because it wasn't done at a Nissan dealer. I called Nissan consumer affairs who said they didnt know anything of this problem. 08/18/13 reoccurrence of same issue while driving downtown chicago in stop and go traffic. Brought it in with no lights on to Nissan service (who have said I need the lights on to see what was wrong). Now all of a sudden they are telling me I need brake booster and to reprogram abs = $1100. That should correct the problem, should is what they said at service. I called #2 Nissan service, who told me I just need the brake booster replaced. Called a third dealer, they stated I just needed the abs reprogrammed.
When driving the abs light comes on then when you press the breaks they grind then goes to the floor.
When coming off the interstate at rates of speed varying from 20 mph - 45 mph the abs and vdc lights come on and you hear a crunching and grinding noise in the front end of the car. The brakes seems to shudder and you feel it difficult to brake. This has always been on dry roads. Nissan has been working on my vehicle for more than 6 months and still no resolution.
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Armada. The contact stated while driving 25 mph the abs light illuminated and disable the brakes malfunctioned. Whenever the brakes were being depressed there was a loud grinding nose and the contact had to apply extreme pressure to the brakes in order to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealers several times for diagnostic testing and they were unable to repair or duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 44,000 and the current mileage was 77,000.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Armada. The contact stated while trying to decelerate the brakes would pulsate and slowly come to a stop. The abs lights also illuminated on the instrumental panel. The vehicle was inspected by a independent mechanic who informed her to replace the brake pads. The vehicle was repaired and the failure continued to occur. The vehicle was also inspected by the dealer who advised the contact that there were no visible signs of a failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000. The VIN was unavailable.
Temporary loss of brakes and control of car; abs light comes on. This occurred twice and each time brought to dealer. They were aware of problem and made an adjustment. Still drive uncertain whether it will happen again. Very dangerous in my opinion.
Emergency brake light came on suddenly. Brake shudders and vibrates through steering wheel. Car makes a grinding noise when brake is applied.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Armada. The contact stated that the brake light illuminated on the dashboard. The vehicle then lost power and the brake pedal went completely down to the floor. The failure occurred twice while driving 30 mph. He stated that it feels as if the abs is engaging and the vehicle has approximately 20% of its braking power. The contact has an appointment to have the vehicle inspected. The current mileage is 38,000 and failure mileage was 37,000. The consumer stated Nissan has TSB for this issue in turn the charge was $85 to reprogram the vsb control. Updated 08/23/07.
We have experienced problems with the abs system on our 2004 Nissan Armada since early 2006. Periodically while driving the brake light will illuminate, when brakes are applied the abs system activates and the brakes are very spongy. When released it sounds as though a big spring is released. Each time (approx 8 previously) we've driven very slow to a safe location, turned the vehicle off and back which resets the system. The occurrence happens at various speeds from 25-70 mph. On one occasion I was able to take the vehicle to the dealership during malfunction. Although observed, the weekend technician failed to properly relay the situation to the regular technician resulting in no action taken. Each time we were assured if normal brakes failed, would still have brakes with abs. The system also malfunctions on initial start up, when turned off and restarted the system is reset. Most recent occurrence was 5/11/2007, I contacted my current dealership and scheduled an appointment. On 5/14/2007, they found the dtc c1179 delta sensor out of program, it was reprogrammed under ntb06-040 program. Malfunction occurred again during initial startup of vehicle on 5/19/2007, taking vehicle back for service.
Since approximately 34,000 miles I have experienced intermittent problems with the abs system on my 2004 Nissan Armada. Periodically while driving, the brake light will illuminate when brakes are applied and the abs system activates. The brakes begin to groan, are spongy, have reduced braking power, and make a sound like a large spring being released. The vehicle continues these symptoms until the ignition is turned off. The speed at which the event occurs varies from 5 to 50mph. This has happened an average of once every 2 to 3 weeks since may 2007. If the vehicle is turned off and then on again the system resets and performs normally. Each time I took the car to the dealership no problem codes could be found and there were no symptoms. I was finally able to take the vehicle to the dealer while the malfunction was occurring and take a test drive with a technician. His first words upon driving the vehicle were ?sounds and feels like the abs acting up. ? he then checked for codes and found c1179. The technician reprogrammed the abs under ntb06-040 program. One week later the problem re-occurred and has been happening every 2 to 3 weeks since. I was able to bring the car in again while malfunctioning and the same problem code c1179 was found even after the TSB fix.
Repeated brake issues; abs computer shutdown; brake judders. This has been ongoing since buying the vehicle in 2004. Vehicle has had at least 5 different brake kits installed and the abs computer has malfunctioned twice in the past 6 months.
Abs / brake system: brake sensor light comes on and brakes start acting erratic, brakes will lock up and abs does not work. There is no warning when this happens, has happened approximately 8 times. Started approximately 4500 miles and is still happening, has been in dealer for service 6 times. Sends multiple com codes impossible to narrow down abs actuator has been replaced problem resurfaced after 1 week from replacement. The car now has 10,000 miles and is now back in the shop, Nissan engineers are coming down to look at the problem. Unable to locate problem over data sent to them.
