A few days ago I was driving my Nissan Armada and noticed a light on the dash. Google it and says that the airbags/seatbelts are not working properly. The light just came on and off and some times nothing happened but sometimes the lights come on just for no reason like after stopping at the gas station or early in the morning. And another day the break just stop working and I have to pump it up to get it back to work even though I have new break pads on it. So at rhis point im just trying to sell it although the engine works fine, im scared the bags may explode on me or hit someone because the brakes don't work.

Original odi #10745373 - 11/19/2010 still unresolved. Review of nc dmv - 340 (rev. 3/2001) with insurance company, insurance affiliated collision repair shop and Nissan of north America confirmed acknowledgment of rotor/ brake damage during repairs. The collision repair shop and (Nissan)modern service mgr. Both internally notated the issue until the claim was confirmed by a Nissan service tech (5936) on 12/21/2010 during a collision re-inspection. Front/ rear brake pad replacement has not resolved the rotor issue confirmed during 2010 repairs. Brake pads were not worn to require replacement during inspections to address concerns. The Nissan edr issue has remained unaddressed by the insurance company while Nissan has provided all warranty/ recall services for the vehicle from 2006 to the present. Geico has provided a guarantee of all losses related to collision on 12/07/2010.

Brake judder from front brakes. . I have had numerous episodes like this "bad abs, I think, on Armada". Everything goes well and am traveling at low speed or pulling out of the parking and step on the brakes and hear a terrible grinding sound coming from the brakes in addition to a spring like sound and a significant reduction in braking power. This continues until I pull off the road and shut off the engine and then start it back up and the brakes work fine. This has happen 8-10 times since may 2014. It did happen couple of time when I was traveling with 20-30 mph and I come to stop, causing groaning, banging noises and feel spongy. This started happening in the same week or so after I had brake work done by dealer. I had taken my car to dealer to replace rotor and pads. This didn't happen before that time. I took the car back to dealer in July and complained about this issue. They reset the module and suggested to replace the booster if it happens again. I ran the scanner to see error code c1179, delta stroke sensor.

I purchased my Nissan Armada 2004 which has less than 68000 miles on it. Recently I have been experiencing many problems with my truck. First, there was a brake recall in 2006 and the dealership replaced the front rotors and brake pads. Once again there is a problem with the breaks. I was driving down the highway at 70mph and all of a sudden the brakes failed; luckily I was able to stop the car by using the parking brakes. After this event I took it to the dealership and advised that I needed a new break booster. My issue is that once I told Nissan about my problems they informed me that the warranty is expired and they are no longer held accountable. But after doing some research I discovered I am not the only owner of an Armada that is having difficulties. . Read more...
Similar to other owner complaints, I was driving our 2005 Nissan Armada and attempted to apply the brakes. When I applied the brakes the vehicle did not stop and the brake pedal went to the floor. I have been going through this for a year now trying to find the source of this. My brake pads, rotors, etc. Are all in excellent condition. I recently had the vdc control unit reprogrammed in accordance with ntb06-040 technical service bulletin at the suggestion of my mechanic. This did not correct the condition, and the same situation happened the next day. This is a very serious issue.
Brakes on 2005 Armada went out and started to grind and stick, could not duplicate after re starting vehicle and mechanic cannot get it to duplicate as well costing me money to have checked out each time it happends not the first time replaced pads the first time and re-occurs more often now very unsafe never know when brakes will engage sometimes drag without being applied.
I have a 2006 Nissan Armada, the brakes goes out, lights come on and once you pull over and restart your vehicle it performs as normal. I've taken it to the dealer and they stated my pads and rotors need replacing, I did that and still the same problem occurs. It feels as if your hitting metal.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Armada. Whenever the brake pedal was depressed, the front end of the vehicle began to shake. The contact examined the vehicle and noticed that the rotors had grooves imprinted on them from the brake pads. The vehicle has been diagnosed by the dealer several times, but the failure still persists. The current mileage was 12,575 and failure mileage was 2,500. Updated 6/9/08 the consumer stated the rotors and brakes continue to go bad. Updated 06/09/08.
While driving my 2005 Nissan Armada last fall, I tapped the brakes and encountered a severe vibration phenomena that I had never experienced on a vehicle before. I stopped. Turned off vehicle. Called for my husband to help. When he arrived, I started the car and the problem was gone. I took it to my local dealer in manchester, TN (roberts Nissan 931-728-2212). At that time, the vehicle was still under warranty. They were unable to reproduce the vibration or to find the problem, but they went ahead and changed out some brake pads and did some repair on the rotors. I had no further problems until this month. This time my husband was with me when the same vibration occurred. He thought that it felt like the abs was trying to kick in for some unknown reason. I had never had an abs vehicle, so I wasn't familiar with that type of braking reaction. I called the dealer and told them that the exact same thing had happened again and that I was bringing the vehicle to them. This time they told me that they had seen that same type of thing on a titan truck recently. Sure enough, after checking they discovered an abs transducer needed replacing. It was back ordered, and they gave me another car to drive because they felt that it would be unsafe for me to drive the vehicle. They were afraid of the problem occurring while driving at highway speed on the interstate. Although the problem was first noticed and reported while under warranty, Nissan would not fully cover the repair. It apparently was also a safety issue. I believe that the dealer was trying to help, but I am very disappointed with Nissan and filed a complaint (file #5775171). I felt that my repair bill should've been covered entirely. I also wonder if perhaps a recall should be done based on the safety issue and the fact that the part was back ordered which leads me to believe there may be many others with the same problem. My repair bill was $782. 67.
2004 Nissan pathfinder Armada. Purchased at 11488 miles on 11/5/05. Experienced very slight vibration when braking at high speed on way home. Also experienced periodic "groan or thump" when gently braking, mostly while turning. Vibration continued to increase until steering became unmanageable while braking. Difficult to be without a car so we couldn't take the car in until 1/10/07 at 22030 miles. Our mechanic said they were the worst warped rotors he had ever seen and had them turned. He also replaced 50% Nissan pads with carquest ceramic pads. Two days later, the vibration was back and dramatically increased over 1000 mile road trip until we took car to dealer on 3/2/07 at 24,140 miles. Steering now completely unmanageable! dealer wouldn't honor warranty because we had carquest pads on car. Also told us that warranty work had been done on rotors at about 7000 miles under original owner. Dealer turned rotors and installed Nissan pads and informed us that we were now back under warranty until 36000 miles or 8/07. Don't feel safe on road, especially after reading posts of complete brake failure, yet need a car to drive on trips. Please issue recall.
We have a 2006 Nissan Armada. Which we purchased in oct 2006 at Nissan dealer. We have to replace brake pads every 3 months. 2005 brake pads are all that fit on our 2006 model. We contacted dealer with no results.
When pushing the brake pedal I was getting a bad shaking vibration in the steering wheel and front of vehicle was pulling real bad to the left. I took my vehicle to the Nissan dealer where it was originally purchased upon picking my vehicle up the Nissan service advisor informed me that the rotors were resurfaced and new brake pads were installed. He also stated that this was a problem with the 2004 & 2005 models but was not suppose to be an issue with the 2006 models. It has been 2 months now since I had this problem and I am getting the same problem again.
I purchased my vehicle (2004 Nissan Armada) with 4,836 miles. . . At 19,673 miles while driving I noticed my brake & abs light come on so I went to pull over. . As I slowed I pushed my brake and it made a loud springing and grinding noise and the brakes lost at least 80% of its power "it felt very soft". . Turned the vehicle off and then back on again and everything seemed normal, drove about 3 miles to the dealer and left the vehicle there. They changed the rotors, pads, torque member all were no good!!! now again at 23,800 miles the brakes have failed again happening in the same order that it did the first time. The dealer told me yesterday that they think it is electrical. . . . . ? so I asked them did you physically check the brakes? they said no. . . . So my husband advised them to check it!!! a day later I am still waiting to hear what is going on? I had researched it over the internet and noticed that I along with hundreds of other people are having the same problem. . . Why no recall!!! having bad breaks can be very very life threatening, I no longer feel comfortable trying my vehicle especially with children ranging in age from 14 month to 7 yrs. Old. Please help me!!! I want to just get rid of this vehicle, but do not want to just hand over the problem so another innocent person!!!.
This will be my second complain filed for the same vehicle. At 14000 miles my vehicle once again is having brake failure I took in my vehicle and service manager suggested that it might be my brake pads and it will cost me aprox. $200 to $300 taking in my the my brake pads and rotors had already been replaced at 7000 miles. After being in the shop for 2 days they found nothing wrong with my pads, however I my problem still continued, when downhill I would feel grinding when braking and if I suddenly brake I felt it even more. To one point that I almost hit a car in front of me thank god I was able to stop because I was probably going about 10 mph. I finally took my vehicle back to the shop and this time they found the problem to be brake pads, and rotors but no charge is going to be made to me because it is covered by warranty.
Bought Nissan truck in may 2005 and the truck has been in the shop 6 times for bad brake pads and warped rotor.
I own a Nissan Armada SUV (model le 5. 6 v8). The car was purchased new in 3/2005 and now has some 3000 miles. We experienced strong vibration of the steering wheel while braking and took the car to the service dept. At the reno (nv) dealership. Yesterday, the dealership told us that Nissan has a problem with all Armada & titan models of 2004/2005 and the problem is causing all brakes to vibrate as the brake discs touch the brake pads. This is apparently something that Nissan knows for a while because all the parts are on "back order" and will not be available for a few months and involves > 100,000 vehicles. The dealer told us that the problem may come back in a few months / thousands of miles and for the meantime the "brakes were warped" which is a temporary fix. We are interested to investigate why (a) Nissan has not declared a formal recall to fix the problem and make customers aware that a problem exists and (b) to find out if the problem is hazardous to life and if other people complained about the same problem. Thank you.
The brakes were too small for the vehicle. The consumer took the vehicle to the dealership and they replaced the pads. The second time they shaved the rotors. While braking the steering wheel shook and the braked made noise.
Purchased 2005 Armada in may by June vehicle went into service because a noise was coming from the rear side. 2 attempts to fix and part was replaced. August 2005 taken to dealer again because of shaking while braking, and front rotors /pads were replaced, and rear rotors resurfaced. January 2006 vehicle taken back to dealer because there was a grinding. Apparently the problem were the tires that needed balancing and rotating. Another problem was the liftgate, it did not want to open and close automatically. My car has been in the shop for 3 days and they still did not know what the problem could be. As another consumer mentioned the stability of this vehicle was very poor, I have swirved sharply to the left when braking at 50 mph or more. According to the Nissan service they have not found anything wrong with this.
When applying brakes there is vibration in steering. ** answer required*** updated 11/7/2005 - the vehicle was taken to the dealer twice within 3 months for this problem. The dealer replaced the rotors but the problem resurfaced. The dealer also installed a new brake kit with brake pads per service bulletin information. The consumer sent a letter to the manufacturer requesting immedaite restitution beacuse the dealer failed to conform to a safety defect within a reasonable number of repair attempts. The consumer received a response stating that Nissan was aware of the safety defect and had responded by extending the warranty on the component and by having bosch, CO. Develop a replacement part.
Purchased 2004 Nissan Armada 11/2004. Progressively greater shimmy/jutter while braking. Unsafe feel while attempting to stop. Brake failure could result in serious injury or death. Brake system was inspected and found to have underdesigned components for vehicle weight as stated by Nissan dealer on 5/27/05. Dealer turned rotors, replaced pads, stated "this was not a permanent fix". This all done within 8000 miles.
Repeated brake system repairs, vibration, wheel lockup, rotors and brake pads.
Brake system seems unsafe. The rotors are making some serious noises, and the vehicle only has 5,000 miles on it. Vehicle is 2005 Nissan Armada.
Purchased a 2005 Nissan Armada in December 2004. Noticeable shaking in steering wheel column when braking. This usually occurs when braking from speeds greater than 40 mph. Took the car to the dealer where I purchased it from and they acknowledged that there has been an issue with steering wheel shaking, which the service advisor explained, is due to rotor becoming heated and warped. He said that they have a temporary fix for the problem - changing brake pads, rotors, and installing a bolt somehwere, and that Nissan was working on a permanent fix. I wish I new about this issue before I dished out the big bucks. Hopefully, this problem does not pose a deadly hazard in the not to distant future.
Consistent failures on brake system. Rotors and brake pads need to be replaced every 3000 miles. Shortage or parts forces ownder to drive vehicle around with severe shudder in the steering wheel and brake pedal, potentially causing driver to loose control in heavy braking conditions.
Poor braking system been to dealer will not fix. Brakes are to small to stop Armada properly. Needs bigger rotor and pads. Dash rattles very loud will not fix. Poor paint on blizzard Armada.
Caller said that 2 months after purchasing the vehicle, when he hits the brakes the car shook. The caller had the problem fixed, and 3 months later it happened again. He had it fixed again and 3 months later it happened again. The caller had it fixed 3 different times. The dealer rotated the rotors, and replaced the brake pads. The dealer said that they were still looking for the cause of the problem and what went wrong. The manufacturer advised the caller to contact NHTSA. The caller believed that he was covered under the lemon law. The manufacturer gave the caller case #4992811. The vehicle would shake so bad that it was easy to lose control of the vehicle. The dealer suggested that the problem could not be fixed. The consumer requested his money back. The rotors were warped and on another repair visit the rotors were found distorted.
2004 Nissan Armada 2x4 le premature brake failure. Brake pads and rotors replaced at 24,000 miles dealer threw out parts before they could be inspected.
Contact stated Nissan, Armada had a serious brake system problem. On one occasion when depressing the brake pedal the vehicle steered by itself to the right side of the road, and then came to a complete stop. The road conditions were normal. The contact took the vehicle six times to the dealer for service. On four occasions the brake rotors and pads were changed. The contact said the vehicle continued to be driven at a risk of an accident.
While driving consumer applied the brakes and pedal went to the floor. Steering wheel started vibrating uncontrollably. Consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and drove it to the dealer for inspection. Mechanic determined that the brake pads needed to be replaced.
The pads have been replaced, the rotors were turned twice. A new was put on the vehicle, then another kit that was not available. The problem seemed to returned after 3,000 miles. When the brakes were applied there was a pulsation and the steering vibrated.
Steering wheel would shake when braking. This was the third time I have had the exact same problem with this car. I took the car back to the service dept. There is now a bulletin on the car and they repaired/replaced the brakes according to the bulletin. A bracket, bolt and pin? does Nissan, the manufacturer really think that is the solution? the solution is equipping the vehicle with the proper (size) brakes to begin with. This vehicle is not a small car, it is a large SUV and it needs large truck size brakes. A recall or true fix would be nice before these brakes fail and hurt someone. Nissan really doesnt seem to care because when you call them they will just let you drive in an unsafe vehicle with failing brakes. If it wasnt for the Nissan service dept always putting me in a rental who knows what would happen.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Armada 4 wheel drive. The contact complained about a brake problem, especially the front brakes. He has already decided that it was the front brakes because he could not stop the vehicle. . Also, brake rotors warped and faded. There was 14,000 miles on the vehicle, and he has been having this problem since purchasing the vehicle. He refused to let his wife or family drive the vehicle because it was unsafe. At first he thought this problem was caused by the disc brakes, pads, and the rotors that rusted, but afterwards he decided that this was caused the vehicle sitting on the lot. But since the problem became progressively worse when braking hard at highway speeds. The brakes will shutter and fade. This vehicle was made with the highest towing package and when towing something he felt like he was going to crash with this vehicle because it got so worse. He contacted a dealership and spoke with the manufacturer. The dealership told him that they were going to replace the brakes by a by owner basis but had no plans in making this a recall. There has almost been several accidents with this problem. He retired from the sheriff' s department and has been to professional driving school. Therefore, the contact did know how vehicles were suppose to be handled.
Brakes jutter and need repair every 5,000 miles. Car has had rotors turns, pad replaced, rotors replaced. The first failure was noted with 5,000 miles on it and a repair was made. A repair was again made at 11,000 miles at that time new rotors were installed and another repair was made in March 2005 at 16,000 miles. I called Nissan and was told by their representative that the fixes were "counter-measures" and that at this time no permanent fix has been identified and there is no date for a permanent fix to this safety problem.
