Brake pedal switch failure for second time on a 2017 Nissan Armada. Because Nissan repaired this a year ago (mind you when my vehicle was only a year old and had to be towed from toledo) they will not cover the repair again because they have stated that it outside of the 12,000 miles, one year warranty on the part. Nissan has an issue with this switch assembly. The service technician noted that there were two other Armadas in for the same repair that week. This is not only a reputational issue but a safety issue. One of the main concerns with the switch is that it is not recognizing when you apply your foot to the brake!.

Brakes failed to operate correctly causing my wife to rear end the vehicle in front of her. Damaging both vehicles I am glad that her or my two sons who were in the vehicle and the other person were not hurt. Nissan is aware of the brake issues related to the Nissan Armada and titan.
Issue is the brake booster and delta sensor. Truck has 85000 miles on it. The brakes keep failing, and you need to pull over, and restart the truck to get going again, sometimes several times. Nissan has looked at it, but won't do anything unless they witness it. Or they read the code. However, when you shut off the engine to clear brakes, and it clears the code. This is a dangerous situation, and needs to be addressed.

I was driving my 06 Nissan Armada around 45mph when a deer ran out into the road I swerved and tried to apply the brakes but like a few times before the brakes failed to work but this time I didn't have plenty of time and room to coast to a stop and shut off the engine and restart it for the brakes to work properly well having no brakes I lost control of the vehicle hitting multiple trees totaling my Armada lucky I was wearing my seat belt because none of the airbags deployed with a impact so hard it broke my collarbone where the seatbelt was I also have a head and back injury can someone please explain to me why nothing has been done about Nissan selling its customers vehicles with defective brakes and airbags and they choose to do nothing about the many many people who are complaining about the same exact problems.
Tl-the contact owns a 2006 Nissan Armada. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 mph, the brakes failed the failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to both a dealer and independent mechanic for diagnosis. The mechanic was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle has not been repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 86,000. Kw.
Amazing how many complaints on the Armadas "without warning" brake failure and yet still no investigation? is it because of the class action suit against Nissan for this very thing? are you not responsible for the safety of people? I thought that was the purpose of this organization. Disappointing that you are still waiting for someone to die before anything is done.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Armada. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and attempting to decelerate, there was an abnormal increase in stopping distance as the vehicle shook violently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was determined that the brake booster had failed. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000.

Was traveling down the road at 35mph! tried to stop at stop sign and the brakes failed! car would not stop! had to use the emergency brake!!!.
Car wouldn't stop. When I pressed brakes it would rattle and make a sound. I was going about 50mph when I tried slowing down brakes failed ! dealer didn't help at all!.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Armada. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the brakes failed without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic but they were unable to provide a diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.
While traveling down the road, the brakelight comes on. When pressing the brake pedal there is not the same amount of braking pressure and the abs starts sounding off, creating a lot of noise. The brake feel becomes overly grabby and inconsistant. This has happend at least a dozen times to me personally as well as my wife. When the vehicle is shut off and then turned back on it seems to reset and work as normal, until it does it again. Please help! this had recently happened 4 times in the last 1 week. This has occured 2 years ago. I went to teh dealer. They reprogramed soemthing and has been good for a while, but now it is back. I took vehicle in to service on July 9th 2012 is part of a TSB to have the computer flashed or updated. Did not solve problem, it happened again today. This is becoming a serious and life threatning issue with brake failure on this Nissan Armada.
2004 Nissan Armada brake failure while driving, this is at random times causing us to panic in traffic. This has been an on going problem with no fix and this is very scary and unsafe. And the only solution is hope that you get to a safe place without injuries or death occuring. Turn it off and back on and drive until it does it again. So taking a risk everyday and praying that something be done with this is like an awakening nightmare waiting to happen just don't know when. Thanks for your cooperation with this safety issue.
Applied the brakes while driving at approximately 25 mph, there was a loud grinding sound from the brakes and the brakes did not work. Also, made a strange sound like a spring. Pumping brakes and pushing them really hard didn't make any difference. The brakes had almost no effect in stopping the car. Fortunately, no one was killed or injured this time, but if this had happened a minute earlier on the steep hill we live on the result could have been very different. When the ignition was turned off and back on again the brakes appear to work fine. A quick search turns up many other Nissan owners with the same experience when this brake system glitches. This is a more serious problem than the Toyota accelerator problem because this problem disables the brakes when it occurs!! also, many owners report that the Nissan TSB instructions to re-program abs and ecm computers does not reliably fix this problem as many have experienced reoccurences after this remedy. Nissan needs to issue a safety recall and ensure a reliable remedy for brake failure or someone will be killed by this.
On three different occasions starting July 2011 and ending March 2015, the brakes failed after vdc/abs/slip warning lights were illuminated on a 2005 Nissan Armada. On one of the occasions, while attempting to stop, the brake pedal was depressed to the floor with little resistance. The vehicle failed to stop causing it to go through a busy intersection and just missed being struck by a tractor trailer. Spent over $2000. 00 in repairs and the problems persist. I no longer feel save in driving the vehicle and finally sold it at a lost.
Brakes on 2005 Armada went out and started to grind and stick, could not duplicate after re starting vehicle. This happens intermittingly and icannot get it to duplicate on cue. I have had problems with the brakes on this vechicle since the day it was driven off of the dealers lot. This is very unsafe never knowing when brakes will fail and I have to find a place to stop to shut the engine off to reset the vechicle. Listen Nissan someone is going to get hurt or killed because you are not fixing this problem!.
2004 Nissan Armada. Brake failure, loud grinding, vibration, would not stop. Turned car off, then back on, and problem was gone. I suspect its a computer related issue that will eventually cause a serious accident.
2005 Nissan Armada- our problem seems to be the same as countless others with no answer in sight. We will apply the brakes when we are at a slower speed (<30mph) and the brakes will fail. They pulsate, grind, and push in a spongey feel all the way to the floor with very minimal braking results. My wife drives this car with our 3 year old daughter so you can imagine our concern. We are planning to sell the car and get something else, but would like to have the brakes fixed first. But from what I see, Nissan is going to do nothing to help and the government must be turning a blind eye to an issue that is obviously a serious safety risk for not just owners of these Armadas, but for other drivers and pedestrians walking the streets as well.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Armada. While driving 25 mph, the contact applied pressure to the brakes but they failed to operate and did not stop the vehicle. She would turn the vehicle off and then on again but the brakes remained operable. The failure occurred intermittently since January 2011. The dealer replaced the rear parking brake shoe on the passenger side and both rotors however, the failure persisted. The contact was awaiting further repairs. The current mileage was 83,000 and the approximate failure mileage was 75,000.
We have a 2004 Nissan Armada that has had complete brake failure. What happens is the brakes begin to jump/jitter and then there is 100% brake failure---there are no brakes period! we've talked to Nissan and taken the car to the dealership and they say there is nothing wrong with the brakes. We don't know what else to do, we can't sell the SUV because we would be passing a life threatening problem to someone else and we cannot drive it because the brakes will fail. To solve the problem at the time they fail obe has to turn off the car, remove the key from the start switch, and then turn the engine again. This seems like the type of problem that the computer controls since the problem temporarily disappears after resetting the computer. Can you help?.
This is pertaining to a 2005 Nissan Armada that we purchased brand new. Soon after purchase, the brakes began chattering and we took it to dealer. They fixed the brakes based on recommended upgrade per Nissan. A couple of month later, the car had a brake failure that was remedied by turning off engine and restarting. There were no problems since until two days ago when the brakes failed again. Nissan has been contacted and we are expecting a call back from a regional expert as to how to get brakes fixed. We received call from Nissan dealer that said that they do not know about this problem with other Nissan Armada's and that we would have to pay to get it looked at. This car only has 13,500 miles on it. We are very concerned about the safety since this is a completely random brake failure occurrence and is remedied by restarting car and is difficult to duplicate. The symptoms include very loud sound in engine bay followed by brake pedal sinking to floor and no brakes activating.
The brakes fail, make a grinding sound. . . Apparently turning the car off resets the delta s sensor. Do a google search on Nissan Armada and brake booster and you will find many pages of the same complaint. It happened intermittantly over the course of several years. I took it to a dealer within the past year - they said they had never heard of it. Charged me $100 to confirm what I told them - bad brake booster, change delta sensor. They suggested I call Nissan north America any acssitance with the 900+ fee to fix it. Nissan north America said they have never heard of this issue and said they would not assist in any way with the cost of repair.
2004 Nissan Armada brake failure problem. About every 4-6 months the brake pedal goes all the way to the floor with very limited stopping power. There is a grinding sound while applying brakes. To me seems to be a matter of time when I smash into something.
The first incident happened twice just prior to July 1st, again on July 4th, and the last incident was July 12th, 2009. After the first 3 incidents once I turned off the vehicle it went back to normal and the dashboard lights went off. However, on July 12th, while driving on the highway, the dash board lights for the breaks and abs system all lit up. There was vibration and then the back brakes made this horrible sound like metal hitting metal. I turned the vehicle off and the problem didn't correct and the brake was not engaging properly. I took the vehicle back to the dealership where I bought the car only to find out that they were no longer a Nissan dealer. I took it to the mechanic I use for my other vehicle and he put my Nissan Armada 2004 pathfinder on the lift and checked the brakes. The brakes were in good condition but he said the abs system would have to be checked by a Nissan dealership. I only have 28,815 mile on my vehicle and the downey Nissan dealership told me that they would update the abs computer system but that the vehicle needed a new brake booster because there was an electrical problem in the brake booster and it would need to be replaced. I googled the Nissan brake booster problems and found that this has been happening to many Nissan Armada and could not find a recall. I am afraid to drive my vehicle because of the possibility of crashing if the brake fails to engage or worse. The dealer asked Nissan to honor "in good faith" the warranty because my car was in very good condition and hd only at 28,815 miles less than the 36,000 mile warranty albeit past 3 years. Nissan refused.
I have a 2005 Nissan Armada and the brakes have been giving me problems since I bought the SUV. Initially it was only warped rotors and excessive brake pad wear, but now the brakes have nearly failed on me three times. When I applied the brakes, it appears that the anti-lock brakes kick in, the brake pedal depresses further, and a loud groaning noise can be heard emanating from the brakes. This problem has occurred three times in the rain under very moderate braking condition (parking lot conditions) and when the parking brake has been used due to parking on a hill. When the event occurs the parking light , the slip, and vdc lights comes on.
2004 Nissan Armada - brake failure. This is an on-going problem. I have contacted Nissan in the past to open a claim. The person on the phone recommended I take it to the dealer (which we had done at least 3 times prior). We took it to the dealer and they indicated that there was 'no trouble/problem found' (only one time prior did they update the code to the computer - all other times - no trouble found). I mention that we have taken it to the dealer 3 or 4 times, but according to my wife who drives this car every day, this happens to her at least once a month - that is over 20 times since we have owned it! I cannot afford to keep taking my car to the dealer, renting a car for the day - just to have 'no trouble found'. Quite frankly, my wife does not feel safe driving the car. I know there have been other incidents of this problem registered. I just would like it fixed once and for all so my wife and children do not have to keep putting their lives at risk, wondering if the brakes are going to work or not. Please help.
My 2006 Nissan Armada had serious brake failure while traveling in a parking lot at less than 15 mph. The brake pedal seized and the abs kicked on, the dash vibrated and the braking power dropped to almost nothing. The car was very difficult to stop even at such a low rate of speed. After stopping and turning the car off the problem seemed to disappear. I refuse to drive the vehicle again until the dealer fixes the problem. Current mileage is just over 32,000 and the problem occurred at 31,980 miles.
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Armada. The contact stated that while driving 45 mph after attempting to engage the brakes, the brakes failed to stop the vehicle and the brake warning lamp illuminated. The contact mentioned that he was able to maintain control and after down shifting and was finally able to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the brake booster was defective and needed to be replaced. The failure recurred four years later . The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 120,000.
We have had several incidents with the Nissan Armada since owning the vehicle new. Basically, the brakes fail on the car and it becomes very difficult to stop the vehicle. It becomes unsafe to drive. It is a known problem with the Armada and titan and Nissan continues to deny the problem. My wife nearly had 2 accidents during the incidents. The dealer states turning the car on and off resets it but there is no way to determine when it can happen again. It is extremely dangerous and should be addressed with a recall by Nissan.
Fuel gauge not working correctly leaving you stranded while reading 1/4 tank of gas, brakes fail forcing you to pull over and turn off truck pull out key then restart, seat belts do not retract getting caught in door when closing.
I have a 2004 Nissan Armada and was traveling at low speed when the brakes failed. The vehicle rolled out into the intersection before stopping. Just prior to stopping it felt like the abs was trying to engage, but the pavement was not slippery. I drove slowly and tried the brakes a few more times and every time it felt like the abs was kicking in, but the braking was severly diminished. I drove the vehicle slowly)about 1 mile to a dealership. Turned the vehicle off, and when we turned it back on again , the problem was gone. The tech nician did a code scan and found that the abs needed to be reprogrammed, which was being done now. I dod a search on the internet and this seemed prevelant in the 2004 Armadas and titans. My concern that the complaints I have read showed that this continuedc to recur even after the reprogramming. If this happened unexpectedly at high speed and a panic stop the results will be catastrophic. This should be investigated. Thanks.
My 2005 Nissan Armada have brake problems the vehicle at no particular time the brakes will fail having a spring clonk noise several times coming from the front brakes when this problem happens the vehicle will not stop the brake pedal will travel all the way down with no braking power to the wheels. This problem has happen to me many times over the years,I have taking the vehicle to numerous times to Nissan dealers. Unfortunately dealer can replicate this problem telling me that there is nothing wrong with the brakes. Now my warranty is over and there is way that the dealer will cover with these expenses. I have told the dealers that this is a very serious problem that sombody could die if there is no brakes that Nissan should recall the brakes,so far Nissan has not done anything to fix this issue.
