The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Armada. While driving approximately 50 mph, the contact noticed smoke emitting from the rear of the vehicle. Immediately the vehicle was maneuvered to the side of the road where the contact detected the smoke originated from the rear driver's side brake caliper. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer who informed the brake caliper locked which resulted to the heated tire rim and smoke. The part was unavailable and the vehicle would be repaired upon the availability of the part. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 44,800.

On 10/21/2010 the right rear brake caliper fell off of our 2005 Nissan Armada during vehicle operation. Dealer inspected and stated caliper bolts were "missing" and my wife "had someone watching over her" and was lucky to not have sustained any injuries. Vehicle has had no recent service to rear wheels or brakes. Vehicle has approx. 77,000 miles. Dealership has no explanation for incident other than vehicle being "tampered with" and tried to use theft of catalytic converters as an example.

Car shakes when brakes are applied causing the car to become difficult to control. The car was "repaired" by authorized dealer pursuant to TSB issued by the manufacturer, but the problem recurs continuously. The manufacturer has issued 5 tsbs regarding this exact issue for my vehicle, but the problem recurs.
Odi # 10172594 Nissan Armada continuous brake problem.
May 08 took truck in for oil change complained of brakes making noise. I was told brakes look fine. Aug 10 car made noise as I was turning left, brake petal went all the way to floor before it would stop. Dealership said calipers were worn out and sticking. Truck has 48000 miles they said brakes were being eaten up by calipers. They want 1,800. 00 to fix truck. I could not get a straight answer on why calipers would malfunction this early. I call Nissan to complain about calipers, I was told it was out of warranty and therefore they could not help me.

I bought a new 2004 Nissan Armada. Only 3 months after driving, I started to have problems with the brakes. It started with excessive brake dust and squeaking barkes. This turned into a grinding sound when brakes were applying within another month, eventually leadingthe brake shudder. The stearing wheel started to shake as I applieid the brakes. I took the car into Nissan of bakersfield to have the car serviced. The employee who scheduled my appointment informed me that all 2004 and 2005 Armada and titans had problems with the brake system. She informed me that they were aware of the probelm with the brake system not being able to carry the weight of the car, therfore the brakes buckel under pressure causing damage to the rotors and brake pads. I had to take my car in a month later to get the brakes serviced again, due to the same problem.
Rotors were determined to be warped at 2300 miles(Aug). They were resurfaced and new pads, and calipers were installed. Now at 4600 miles (oct) steering wheel & vehicle starting to vibrate when applying brakes. Usually occurs when coming to a stop from freeway speeds. Contaced dealer who informed me that there was a new "kit" to fix the rotors. Another bandaid???? these brakes are not big enough for this vehicle. Until Nissan replaces the rotors with larger ones, capable of stopping the vehicle properly, this problem is going to continue.
Brakes jutter and need repair every 5,000 miles. Car has had rotors turns, pad replaced, rotors replaced. The first failure was noted with 5,000 miles on it and a repair was made. A repair was again made at 11,000 miles at that time new rotors were installed and another repair was made in March 2005 at 16,000 miles. I called Nissan and was told by their representative that the fixes were "counter-measures" and that at this time no permanent fix has been identified and there is no date for a permanent fix to this safety problem.
Brakes developed a bad problem with vibrations when braking which acutally giggled the steering wheel. Problem was first repaired at 5,000 miles and they serviced it by turning the rotors. Problem reoccured at 11,000 miles and it was serviced again. This time the rotors could not be turned and they had to replace the rotors, pad kit, and boot kit. At 16,000 miles the problem once again reoccured and at the time the service dept. Said that Nissan has not found a permanent fix for this problem and they once again turned my rotors. I have since called Nissan and was told by their representative that Nissan is only providing "counter-meaures" and has not found a fix and has no date when one will be avail. I feel it is a major safety issue since these problems have occured without evening towing anything and I am pursuing the lemon law in the state of washington. It is unreasonable to expect people to drive a vehicle which has to have a major break service perfomed every 5,000 miles just to be somewhat safe.
