1 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2015 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 01/13/2020

The abs light comes on while driving and car stalls or immediately shuts down. I took the vehicle to Nissan and a diagnostic test was done. They said I needed to have my crank shaft positioning sensor changed; I paid and had it replaced and still I am experiencing the same problem. I took the vehicle back to kings Nissan at coney island brooklyn 2 weeks ago and it's still there and they can't figure out what's going on. Now I am being told they'll have to take the car apart to figure what's the problem and that'll cost me about a thousand dollars for labor, not inclusive of any parts that may need to be replaced. My problem here is that Nissan cannot determine the issue and is having me pay for parts while they change parts by assuming what they issue might be, since they are unable to determine the real issue. My biggest regret is purchasing a Nissan vehicle. The vehicle is barely 30,000 miles and it's costing me time and money.

2 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2005 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 06/03/2019

While driving on the street or highway abs light comes on then vehicle stalls and rolls at about 2 mph and the car doesn't respond when I press the gas pedal. Usually the abs light turns off then I can drive normally. The last time this happened the car turned off I had to push it out of the street and it wouldn't start up for a couple of hours, then the abs light came on again and then it stalls with no response when pressing the gas pedal. This has happened over 10 times even after replacing the brakes and checking all the sensors, checking the battery and all of the connections and fluids.

3 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2009 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 05/21/2019

Nissan is not complying with recall. October 23, 2018 there was a recall on my 2009 Nissan Murano for the abs actuator, brake fluid and lines. I was told they would test the actuator and change the brake fluid and lines. At this time my car passed the actuator test so the Nissan service facility informed me that they would not be fixing the actuator. However, on may 21, 2019 I took my car in for service because my abs and slip lights came on in my car. The Nissan service facility informed me that my actuator now needs repair, but Nissan will not cover the expense saying that they "already completed the recall". Is this how a recall works? I am having a problem with this same part 6 months later. If I would have waited and had my car tested today I would have received a new actuator. Please help I am not well versed in cars but am concerned that my car is an accident waiting to happen. This part was recalled for a reason and I am looking for Nissan to honor their recall and fix the actuator so my car is safe. Living in the midwest with our crazy weather; good reliable brakes are very important. I have had issues (which I previiously reported) with my brakes not working properly.

4 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2010 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 12/08/2018

The vdc, brake, traction control and abs light came on on the dash. I had the vehicle diagnosed by Nissan and they said there is no recall and the car is out of warranty. I filed a complaint with there consumer affairs department and they said they are unable to help me with the problem. Nissan released the car to me knowing it is unsafe. They gave me an estimate of $3000. 00 to repair the car. In 2009,2011,2014-2017 the same part and problem occurred on these cars as well. Why is 2010 not included in the recall? I would like to know why? and looking for some help with the situation.

6 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2009 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 08/05/2018

No matter what repairs I do the abs warning light will not go off. The breaking feels off. I leak power steering fluid and have had the pump checked. Steering can tighten up and become loose again while in a parked position, a very slow moving speed and at freeway speeds.

7 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2009 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 02/10/2018

The brakes in my 2009 Nissan Murano intermittently fail about once or twice a month. The brake failure, which began to occur sometime on or after mid-2017, causes the brake pedal to lose pressure, becoming spongy making it difficult to stop. When the brake failure occurs no warning lights or abs lights light up and no error codes are set. The condition may last anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of hours and then returns normal. I have taken the vehicle to be serviced at least twice, however the shop cannot find anything wrong with the vehicle. As a precaution, I had the brake system flushed and bleeded and replaced all 4 brake pads, however, the brake failure continues to occur.

8 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2009 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 05/01/2017

My brakes soften up and my braking distance increases. My vehicle now is failing inspection due to this. The issue increases when I hit a bump on the road and hit the brakes. The pedal will literally reach the floor. I have changed out all pads and rotors and there are no visible leaks of any kind on other brake parts. The abs lights are not on.

10 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2009 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 01/07/2017

2009 Nissan Murano loses brake pressure after hitting bumps while braking. Brake pedal goes soft and driver is required to push brake pedal 3/4 of pedal travel before brakes enact. We've owned this vehicle 05/2015 and this is the 4th rime this has happened. Vehicle is in this condition presently. Once stopped the vehicle stays put. The symptom corrects itself between a few hours to 1-2 days. I've had a local dealer look at vehicle but symptom was gone on arrival. At their suggestion, they replaced the brakes. It's very sporadic as to when it happens or the severity of the bumps to cause issue. The brakes fluid is clean and at proper level, rotors are in good shape, and no warning or abs lights on dashboard. There also has been no codes thrown by computer. I removed and reseated abs fuse but issue still remains. A quick online search reveals multiple owners having same issue since at least 2010. Although the brakes don't fail entirely, it can cause accidents when pedal travel requirements change upon braking. It may be a pre-cursor to a complete failure if not addressed.

11 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2015 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 09/23/2016

Nissan campaign : pc482 on 9/92016 took vehicle in to have abs actuator checked. It was within range for recall. Part was ordered. Week of 9/192016, received call from dealer central appointments (sheehy Nissan waldorf) telling me part was in and was given appt on 9/23/2016 to have abs actuator replaced. On 9/23, at dealership, I was told Nissan is not replacing abs actuator as called for in campaign unless it has leaked and abs light is on. This is a part non-conformance issue. When seal allows leak, it drips on circuit board which will cause a fire. Remedy is to park vehicle, call for tow and get rental. This is unsafe and remains so. Nissan recall states "your Nissan dealer will inspect the serial number of the abs actuator, and if it is within the affected range, the dealer will replace the abs actuator with a new abs actuator at no cost. " my actuator is within affected range and Nissan is not complying with their own recall remedy.

Failure Date: 09/01/2016

The brakes in our 2009 Nissan Murano intermittently fail about once or twice a month. When a failure occurs the brake pedal goes down to the floor and the vehicle slows, but does not stop. Several occurrences required a swerve off the road to avoid a collision. Several, but not all of these occurrences were preceded by a jolt to the vehicle (pothole, railroad track, etc. ). No warning lights or abs lights come on and no error codes are set. The condition lasts for a few minutes to a few hours then returns to completely normal operation. The local Nissan dealership cannot find anything wrong with the vehicle and were unable or unwilling to help.

15 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2005 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 10/16/2014

I had a check engine light and an airbag light appear on my dash. While driving on the beltway the abs light came on and my car slowed down and wouldn't tee pond to the gas pedal. After about 2 minutes it kicked back in so I took it to get a diagnostic from a Nissan dealer the next morning. They told me everything was fine according to the computer there were a lot of codes that popped up but they told me they weren't happening anymore. I asked of they checked all of the wires they told me yes. So I took my vehicle and later that night while driving back from lunch break the abs light came on again and the Murano slowed down as before only this time it cut completely off. It only held a jump for about 5 blocks before it cut off again. I had it towed back to the dealer the next morning and they told me they can't check anything unless I purchase a new battery so I bought a new battery and they put it in and told me everything was fine again it just needed a new battery. They told me everything was reading fine but in my opinion that was because it was feeding off the juice of a new battery. About 2 hours after leaving the dealer the same thing happen again with a new battery while I was driving. The abs light came on the car slowed down this time the meters went crazy then it cut off. Only by the grace of god that no one was injured with my car cutting off while I'm driving. I called the dealer and they were not willing to do anything different and they told me my VIN number is not under a recall. I called Nissan consumer affairs after a week of waiting and unreturned calls I finally talked to a regional manager from tennessee by the name of cleo only because I got transferred to him and all he told me was Nissan will not help you out financially. He didn't discuss the issue or offer solutions and showed no concern for safety only money even though I never asked for it.

16 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2005 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 08/05/2005

The current description has to do with mechanical defects: I leased a brand new 2005 Nissan Murano in April 2005, and in August of that year the car had major mechanical malfunctions that included: abs light came on , internal failure of abs actuator, and right front abs sensor, engine probelms with loss of power, and acceleration . Nono current through pin connectors. Had to replace ecm. Engine light came on , internal failure to throttle body, all wheel drive light came on. They replaced the alternator, I also had internal failure of a/c amplifier. My car was in the shop from 8/5/05 - 9/13/05 a total of 39 days! I called Nissan about complying with the lemon law and to now they have declined to cooperate. I am currently seeking legal representation in this matter.

17 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2004 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 08/05/2004

On the evening of Aug 4, 2004, I was driving home, noticed that the battery and brake light were illuminated on my new (6500 miles) Nissan Murano. I planned to take it to the local dealer the next day, as soon as I completed two unchangeable appointments. As I started to leave the parking lot on the second appointment, the vehicle would not accelerate. I called the dealer and my husband, who came to get me. The vehicle had to be towed. Diagnosis: failed alternator. Needless to say, I was not happy. They had to order the part, and the repair was finished on the following Tuesday, Aug 10. The service manager said he had previously had 4 or so failed alternators, and didn't understand why Nissan had not recalled the vehicles. The repair has been fine, the dealership loaned me a vehicle, even though I bought it out of town. Then I started to check the internet, and found that there are a lot of alternator failures. I am thankful that mine happed in a local parking lot instead of on the road.
