1 Brake Disc Caliper problem of the 2009 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 08/15/2019

Abs recall. My car has deep brake & take longer to stop so brought to my mechanic & informed me that it has an outstanding abs recall so I brought it to keoppel Nissan service in queens NY. After two days of waiting they did nothing so decided to pick it up & to bring it to other Nissan dealer service. Before picking my vehicle up they informed me that deep brake & longer braking time has nothing to do with the abs, vehicles abs has no issue & does not need to be replaced. They informed me that that it is the brake pads & the calipers which was receiving checked by my trusted mechanic. But keoppel Nissan service did not provide me any written proofs that abs or the recall has nothing to do with my vehicles braking issue. Now I am back to square one, will bring the vehicle to other Nissan service.

2 Brake Disc Caliper problem of the 2011 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 06/20/2019

As I was driving on the highway and tried using my brakes I continually had to depress my brake pedal all the way to the floor to get them to start working. Once I reached stop and go traffic on the highway I continued to have this problem where tapping or using the brake pedal as normal did not slow my car down and I had to keep pushing it to the floor in order to keep from running into the car in front of me. I brought this to my normal mechanic who drained brake fluid, checked pads, and tested all calipers which did not fix the problem. They felt it was the abs actuator that was the problem and recommended I go to a dealership. At the dealership I relayed this information and they began looking at the car. Their diagnosis is that the actuator allowed air in the brake line and that air kept my brakes from working. Seems like a common problem among Nissan Murano's.

3 Brake Disc Caliper problem of the 2009 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 01/11/2018

While driving approximately 55 mph a small animal ran out in front of me and caused me to brake hard causing the abs to activate. Immediately after the hard stop the brake pedal goes to the floor and I have no braking ability. Brake fluid is fine and upon visual inspection nothing appears damaged on the pads or calipers.

4 Brake Disc Caliper problem of the 2004 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 12/26/2013

I bought the 2004 Murano in December of 2013. From day one problems with shaking while driving. It has been in the shop 12 times since then. It had transmission failure twice now. First time they found metal debris in there. The second time was just over the warranty from first time by a few hundred miles! right after that the right back brake caliper was binding so that was replaced. So far they have put on new tires, a few weeks after that they balanced them thinking that was the problem. Had to replace axle shaft carrier bearing, I should have gotten rid of it after the first transmission failure!!!.

5 Brake Disc Caliper problem of the 2004 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 12/17/2012

Tl-the contact owns a 2004 Nissan Murano. While driving approximately 40 mph, the brake pedal was engaged but the vehicle failed to decelerate until after the contact repeatedly applied the brakes. The contact was able to continue driving with caution. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis. The technician informed the contact that the rear brake calipers had seized. The vehicle repairs consisted of the replacements of both rotors, brake pads and calipers. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 109,000. Kmj.

6 Brake Disc Caliper problem of the 2009 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 05/17/2010

Second complete failure of the braking system - calipers and discs.

7 Brake Disc Caliper problem of the 2005 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 04/01/2009

The air bag indicator light is flashing in the dash again. I had this problem fixed once before while still under warranty at the north little rock dealership. On leaving the garage within just a mile, I made a left turn and heard a crunching noise in the steering column and it came back on. I went strait back and they said they would fix it but the (second replacement part) wouldn't be in till the next day so I was given a loaner for one day. Now it's back on again. Also noted shortly after the warranty expired that the lumbar support on the drivers side no longer inflates/deflates and hasn't worked since. I have had all recalls fixed and had to replace the battery at 37,000 miles at my cost. Also had to have the dealership resurface both front rotors and replace a rear caliper under warranty that had locked up 1 & 1/2 years ago. I see that the front rotors are in need of resurfacing again even though the break pads have 1/2 of there wear left to go. Due to the highly chromed /curved dipstick, getting an accurate oil level reading is not possible at any time, so the dipstick has only been removed three time since purchasing it as it is a pointless endeavor. I own six autos that range in age from 1972 threw this 2005 Murano and of all of them, the Murano is the least trusted one. I will never own another Nissan.
