1 Brake Disc problem of the 2006 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 02/20/2008

These comments are to be added to the original complaint - 10222492. I took my vehicle to the Nissan dealer on two different times; once at 8,000 miles and another time at 15,000 miles. When I had my brakes replaced at 24,000 miles they said I was supposed to bring it in at 10,000 miles to check some "pins" on all four wheels, that control the brake pads. When they reviewed the work sheets for those two times, they was no mention of checking the brake "pins". A item as serious as brakes should be highlighted and shown on the screen, as are the oil changes and tire rotation. "check the brake pins" is not even shown on this screen. This is the most serious system of a car. I feel that Nissan should have a screen warning that tells you to have these "pins" checked. It is obvious to me that there is a design problem with their braking systems and the onus is placed on the customer to read the fine print in the owner's manual to see all these details. When in fact, it could be displayed on the driver's information screen. I feel that Nissan has blown the safety of their vehicles. This is the comment that I want added to complaint 10222492.

2 Brake Disc problem of the 2004 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 06/15/2004

2004 Quest minivan in for front end judder/vibration (6/04)@ 2000 miles-rotors cut same complaint(12/04) @ 7300+- miles-rotors cut and pads replaced same complaint(10/05) @ 15000+-miles-dealers states that rotors and brakes are needed and not covered said that because it's a heavy vehicle considered normal to replace pads @ approximately 8000+- miles and rotors as well. If there is no problem why cut rotors in 1st place, and then again with pad replacement in less than 6 months time frame? and now a 3rd occurrence ?.

3 Brake Disc problem of the 1999 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 02/06/2004

I have had to look into alignment probelms again and replace the brakes and the tires again. I also was told by the dealer that this was because of "normal" wearing of the cv joints and that my front axle was shot so I had to replace this too. I have had so much tire, tire valve, brake and front end trouble, it's ridiculous.

4 Brake Disc problem of the 1999 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 04/04/2002

Consumer states the front brakes failed.

5 Brake Disc problem of the 1999 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 02/01/2001

Brakes were replaced at 22,000 miles, and again at 43,000 miles which seems premature wearing of the brakes. The brakes were making scratching noises when applied, was taken in and told they are only 15% left. Why the promature wearing of the brakes??.

6 Brake Disc problem of the 1999 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 10/01/1999

Front brakes had to be replaced three times, they keep wearing, consumer was told that other Quest vans were having the same problem, a squealing noise is heard when wheels are moving, but when brakes are applied, the noise stops.

7 Brake Disc problem of the 1999 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 08/21/1999

I started having problems with the brakes and the air conditioner around the same time frame give or take a few weeks. The brakes started making a grinding noise when it was about two months old. I took it to the dealer the said they did a complete brake job on it. Since then it has been back to the dealer 5 other times due to brake noises that are still not repaired. My van also vibrates at speedso f 60 miles or faster, also it has had 3 front end alignments in less then six months. Then with my air conditioner they say the noise was normal that it was suppose to sound like it was going to fall out in the driveway when I turned it on, and when Nissan came out with a fix they would contact me. To this day they have not even looked at the air conditioner other then to check the belts on it. Both my brake and my air conditioner are still making noises. I have two friends that own Nissan vans and there vans do not have these problems.

8 Brake Disc problem of the 1999 Nissan Quest

Excessive wear of the pads and rotors. Dealer has replaced pads and rotors three times, and problem has reoccurred.
