Have fixed myself ac compressor kit about 97,051miles on 6/12/2020, maf sensor, two vvt solenoids having driven it 20,000 miles in five years trying to rid light. Nov 2019 purchased at 94,719 miles. Roberts Nissan of manchester, TN checked and serviced on 12/04/2019 at 95,186 milles in excellent condition. Light will not stay off for power train system, cam timing bank, timing chains, vct camshaft timing vct, power supply circuit. Nissan did replace recall abs actuator. Had checked cookeville Nissan 5/21/2024 light on and they turned off saying it checked ok after a cold start for $230. It is loud now at 114,998 miles! this auto must have defective parts since gateway has serviced it regularly. I am concerned about driving. Talked to consumer affairs of Nissan and was told it was over 65,000 miles and not valid.

I was parking and barely moving with my foot in the brake when the vehicle suddenly reved up loudly. I had to depress the brake heavily to keep it from moving forward and put it in neutral. The vehicle continued to rev hard until I turned off the engine.

The contact owed a 2012 Nissan Quest. The contact stated while shifting the vehicle into reverse, the vehicle launched forward at high speed without any warning. The contact pressed on the brake panel, but the brake panel was stiff, causing the contact to loss control and drove into a ditch and striking a tree causing the vehicle came to a completely stop. The vehicle had front ended damages. The contact suffered injuries to the left leg and foot and head and seek medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was deemed totally loss from the insurance company. The manufacturer was contact and stated that there was no recall for the failure and did not provide any assistance. The failure mileage was 50,000.
I backed out of driveway towards the south to head north on public way. Vehicle immediately started accelerating backwards (south) without assistance, quickly getting out of control. No amount of pressure on my part would make the brakes work and there was no control of the steering. The vehicle was no longer under my control and crashed backwards into a large tree which held it from crashing farther, and a small tree on the side which held it from rolling down into a brook. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request and I would prefer that it be inspected. No vehicles or pedestrians were in the street when the vehicle lost all control without human assistance. The passenger is front passenger seat was taken to er and has since been seeing a doctor. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or other service center. The police were at scene of accident right after it occurred. No lights, messages, or other symptoms gave any warning before the vehicle started racing and immediately went out of control with no control over speed, brakes or steering.
Traveling at a high speed of 75 vehicle without warning stalls can't give any gas. . . Will not restart to after it has sat for about 20 mins then it will start and stall out again. . Abs light and brake battery light keeps jumping on and off.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Quest. The contact stated while driving 5 mph and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle would attempt to stop but continued moving forward. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the local dealer. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 103,572.

I was sold a deceptive van at the end sept 2020, I did a test drive with the salesman, pointed out several issues with the van like check engine light on, traction light on, air bag light on, remote missing to control tv, the salesman told me not to worry about all the lights that's on he will get that fix at a later date and to buy the tv remote and a deduction will be applied to my contract. I was fine with that, but that hasn't been the case. I admittedly start to find other issue with the van the more I drove it like the rear wiper motor is not working, the complete steering wheel is not working so the horn, cruise control, bluetooth settings, radio volume button. I have made the salesman a where of this but his whole tone changed. I was told to get whatever issues fixed myself and maybe a deduction would be applied to my balance, once again I said but that's not what we agree on. So now its time for my temporary tag to expire, was issued a new one 3 times but had to take it to a shop to let them manipulate the system because the van will not pass marta/emission to get register for real license plate with the check engine light on. The van is missing the Cadillac converter and the salesman will not put one on said you do not really need it on the van. At this point he said in a conversation with me that a previous owner had the van for about a month and returned it for issues, but when I said I'm not satisfied with the van and want to return as well, it was pass 2 months now and as long as the van gets me to point a to point b that's all that matters! once again the more I drive the van I'm finding issues so now the button on the radio get stuck when pushed in, controlling the heat and air it has a mind of its own, so when I turn on the heat, the ac button will not turn off, also the automatic window buttons don't work properly. This van is unsafe to drive period.
The car accelerates when I press on the brake. I have complained to the dealer about this is October 2018 and today April 2019. This is a pre-accident complaint. When I drive in stop and go traffic it feels like the abs brake motor is trying to make the car go faster instead of stopping the car.
When I press the brakes the car accelerates. I have had a data recorder attached when this happened, but the dealer says that it didn't record anything. -- this happens intermittently---, while in slow traffic as I pump the brakes. Specifically : the rpm actually increased as the car made the abs grinding sound and increased the velocity of the car. I had to quickly put the car in neutral to get control of the vehicle. The dealer service agent states that they cannot guarantee that any repair will resolve the issue. They cannot guarantee that pressing the brake will not make the car stop; but they admit that pressing the brake could accelerate the velocity of the car. I have duplicated this issue to the dealer mechanic foreman at universal city Nissan in California but he no longer works at this dealer.
On city streets, the car accelerates when I press the brake pedal. The rpm increases and I am certain that I was not pressing the gas pedal. Universal attached a black box to the car but has refused to share the data. The latest service was done recently.
"takata recall". Safety and performance is needed on brakes electric is issue. Brakes seems very ware and . . . . . .

The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Quest. After driving approximately two and a half miles at various speeds, the brake warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact also complained of a burning odor coming from the vehicle and the rims were hot to the touch. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.
This vehicle has several manufacturing faults that threaten the safety of my family. Since the vehicle left the consession, according to new, we have not been able to safely use this vehicle since its transmission, suspension and front. These components have a vibration and crunch that does not allow safe use. Since then it has taken imnumerable times to repair for the same faults and they still persist. The Nissan has already been documented this claim and have ignored the safety risks involved in driving a vehicle that can be blocked transmission in the middle of the highway exposing the safety of my family and other drivers.

On March 26th 2016, at 2:31pm, I sat in the vehicle, turned the vehicle on and put it in the drive gear. While my foot was still on the brake, the vehicle started to roll forward. I immediately checked whether the gear was in fact in the drive mode, and both the dashboard and gear box symbols confirmed. I tried to step on the breaks, but the breaks seemed to already be depressed all the way down and locked in that position. I had no control over braking capabilities. After seeing that I had no control over its rolling motion, I quickly depressed the emergency brake. The vehicle finally came to a complete stop. Then I turned the vehicle ignition off. I was prompted to put the vehicle in park mode. I shifted the gear to park and attempted to restart the vehicle. While trying to restart it, the vehicle's break was still completely depressed, although I tried to depress it further with my foot and snap it back to its original position. After a couple of attempts of continuing this action, the brakes finally seemed to unlock and released back into its original position. I had regained control over the braking capabilities of the vehicle. Next, I released the emergency break and put the vehicle in the drive gear once again. I was able to drive the vehicle appropriately thereafter.

This fuel gauge left me inside of the road first day of school for 3 kids. . Now it has a slow oil leak that the mechanics can't seem to find.
I ran out of gas on two separate occasions. Both times I thought I had plenty of gas due to what the gauge said. The first time, I had my 2 kids with me and it ran out as I was going around an unfamiliar curve in the interstate. The van became very hard to steer. Lucky for me I was in a lane next to a shoulder so I was able to fight it off of the road. It was very hard to stop at that point. The second time, I had 7 people in the car including my 2 kids and 4 of their young friends. This time it ran out just as I came to a curve on a road where people tend to speed. I did not have the strength to keep the van from crossing into the oncoming lane, but lucky for us, nobody was in the other lane at that time. I was able to coast off of the opposite side of the road. Both times I missed very important meetings but was thankful to be alive. I have since learned to reset my mileage counter when I fill up and watch to make sure I don't push it to far, but always afraid I may guess incorrectly. I am probably filling up at 1/2 tank for fear of stalling again with my kids in the van. After the first time, I thought I received a notice about a problem with the gauge. I had my van in for service at the local Nissan dealer and asked them about it. They looked it up and said they did not see anything about it. That was around 2015/03. I am tired of constantly filling up, so I am looking into how to get it fixed. That is how I found out about all the other complaints about the faulty gauge issue.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Quest. While waiting at a stop light, the engine surged and the vehicle was forced out into a four-way intersection. After a few seconds, the engine went back to idling normally. On February 9, 2015, while waiting at a restaurant drive thru, the engine surged forward while the brakes were engaged and crashed into the preceding vehicle. A police report was filed. There were no injuries. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 111,000.

Driving with cruise control on highway. Moved feet to under knees position to relax. Loop behind right running style shoe got hooked on seat slide lever. Had to use left foot to brake.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Quest. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled. The contact mentioned that second before the failure occurred, the abs and the tire pressure monitoring system light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 105,000.
My wife was driving the car with kids in back, at traffic signal she stopped at left lane turn left. When left green signal was given, she released brakes and couldn¿t move as intended. She described to me that engine was running and as if all breaks were engaged. She made slowly left turn dragging car and stopped at right side of the road and called me asking that she is unable to move the car and engine is still running. She also informed that car is at safe area of road and could able to get out and walk to kid¿s activity school. Upon arrival at the location, couldn¿t start and called for aaa help. Aaa tested battery and it was okay; fuel gauge was showing slightly below â½ tank mark. Asked aaa to tow the car to my home as it was getting late in evening. While looking for details on internet for possible causes I noticed possibilities of wrong fuel indication. So added a gallon fuel and car started and worked normally. I am planned to switch the car with my wife to test this car next few week for safe operation.
The first incident, occurring in the summer of 2014, caused my 2007 Nissan Quest to stall/shut off and nothing worked - it lost all steering, power, acceleration, braking, etc. It just died, going approximately 15mph while veering right to turn into a shopping center. This same incident occurred about a month later, while traveling approximately 25mph (posted speed limit) going uphill at night. Van just died and I was stranded on the road - lucky enough to get far enough near a private driveway not to get hit by a car, an to call for help. The fuel gauge was showing sufficient gas left in the tank, but it had run out of gas. We had put the vehicle in the shop for repair and luckily the mechanic was honest and Smart and concluded that it needed fuel and the gauge was defective. Luckily on both occasions, none of our three children (one special needs) were in the van. This defect left us without a second (family transportation) vehicle for several days and to incur unnecessary auto shop costs. Secondly, we recently had suspension work done, totaling over $1300. 00. There was apparently a recall for this, of which I was never made aware. The bolt defect was also never brought to my attention, but the rattling noise has existed since purchased used in 2011. These defects have caused potential endangerment to my family, incurred us costly shop/repair costs, and left us without a vehicle for days - highly dangerous and inconvenient, when all were known defects that should have been known to us and for which we should not have paid.
Took my 2007 Nissan Quest in to the Nissan dealership for a rattle, vibration and pulsing out of the front end. Service writer tells me it's a timing chain (not belt) that needs to be replaced. I asked him if that was the noise I heard (I didn't think that was the issue) and I was told they weren't sure and that probably wasn't the noise I was hearing. I left the dealership only to have the vibrations worse, noise more pronounced and the thought of a 2000. 00 bill on the horizon for a timing chain. The vehicle seems to push and constantly pull to the left. Alignment and new tires had no effect at all. Sometimes the van seems unstable at entry highway speeds. Nissan USA clearly doesn't care so I'm hoping you might be able to do something with them.
My car randomly accelerated on 2 occasions , may 30, 2013 and June 27, 2013. The first incident resulted in a crash, hitting a pole, tree, and another vehicle. 2nd incident was a near miss, almost had a head on collision with another vehicle. My 9 year old son and I were in the car. No resolution from Nissan. They are not concerned about safety. Want me to take car back without any explanation.
While driving on highway the van started to shake while applying the brake and then there was no power as the gas was pressed. The gas was to the floor and the max speed was 50 mph. The more you drove the worst it got. I am only talking driving approximately 15-20 mile. When you first start out it is not as bad, but it is absolutely not safe to drive nor am I willing to drive it anymore. I have read articles on this and it certainly seems like a common problem. Lets get it together Nissan!!!!! I really want to know if going import is worth it. I have a 2001 GMC with over 175,000 with no problems.

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Quest. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph, the speedometer abruptly displayed a reading of 45 mph. The anti lock braking system and tracking control system lights also illuminated during the failure. The contact maneuvered to the shoulder and shut the vehicle off. Upon restart, the contact was able to safely drive the vehicle to an authorized dealer. The contact was informed that the anti lock braking actuator and wheel bearings needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 87,000. The consumer state the brake actuator was replaced.
Car was parked on an incline nose down with 1/2 tank of gas in the tank. When attempting to start the vehicle the engine would not start. Brake system stopped working and car started to move forward down the hill. Needed to use the emergency brake to stop the car.

I was approaching a red light, applying brakes, so car was going about 2mph when it suddenly began shaking and rumbling. I was on a small down hill incline. The engine just cut off and the car did not allow me to press on the brakes any longer. The car continued rolling through the red light/ intersection when I applied the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. Put car in park and attempted restarting 4 times, but it would not allow me to press my foot on the brake in order to start the car. After 4 attempts, I was able to get the car to start. Fuel indicator told me I had 33 miles to empty. I drove another 10 miles and filled the gas.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Quest. The contact stated that there was a rumbling noise coming from the rear passenger side of the vehicle. The contact also stated that all of the lights illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that the abs actuator needed to be replaced. The failure mileage was 120,000 and the current mileage was 136,000.
Within 6 months of purchase of this vehicle I have been having severe safety issues on this vehicle. It initially started out as an intermittent problem which took quite some time to replicate since a specific chain of events had to be followed. But since then, the problem can be replicated at will but again its based on a sequence of events and road conditions. The steering wheel vibrates horribly and there is a loud rumbling noise. The car is difficult to handle once this vibration starts. It feels as if the car has a flat tire or the axle has been severely damaged thus impairing steering control. May 20th 2010 was the first time I had the issue with the Quest while I was on IL interstate 57. Sept, 11 2010 is when this happened again while I was headed to florida. Oct. 4th, 2010 it happened again on florida interstate 275. It continued to occur repeatedly. I reported this problem to Nissan on July,18th, 2011 with 31,573 miles on the van. The Nissan folks drove 189 miles but could not duplicate issue. On Jan. 2, they tried but could not duplicate issue Feb. 1st, 2012 the service manager and I drove 200 miles in order to replicate it. We noticed that the vdc light came on. The guessing game on the Nissan side continued. They replaced the abs system stop lamp switch, and other abs related items. Once they handed us the vehicle stating that the issue was fixed, we took it on a test drive and were able to recreate the problem. May 29, 2012 I took Quest back in but could not duplicate issue while the Nissan folks took it out on a test drive. On June 18, the service manager and I went on another 200 miles road trip and I was able to duplicate the problem. This time they blamed the wheel bearings to be the cause so they replaced that but again that was not the culprit as I was able to replicate the problem when I took it on a test drive once Nissan handed me the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2009 Nissan Quest. The contact stated that when trying to depress the brake pedal, the vehicle did not slow down. She had to pump the brakes to activate them. The failure almost caused two accidents. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership and test driven but the failure could not be duplicated. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000. The current mileage was 6,732.
2007 Nissan Quest brake/rotor issues. Brakes and rotors are wearing rapidly at very low miles. It happened at 45,000 miles and again every year since. Even after having brakes and rotors resurfaced a few times. Continuing problem. Dealer thinks may be driving habits, but device placed on car to track driving behavior by insurance company shows no hard braking. Possibility that this vehicle has similar rotor/brake problem due to weight of vehicle or improper cooling like titan truck did early on. A rear end collision my wife had in late 2009 may have been related to the this problem. Several hundreds of people have same type of problem on internet vehicle problem sites.
Went on a road trip. Our new Nissan Quest 2009 was fine until after 4 hours of driving and then suddenly the steering wheel started to shake. It shook so badly that we thought we had a flat tire. It continued to shake until we pulled over to the shoulder and come to a complete stop. We went back on the highway and it was fine for a couple of hours and then acted up again. The same thing happened. It won't let us accelerate and no matter how slow we go it was still shaking. We had an infant in the van and our other son was 5 yrs. Very dangerous to be on the road in the middle of the night and having to pull over every couple of hours when it started acting up. Imagine when there are no shoulders to pull over and the van was shaking so bad that you can't control it. Please recall this item. Something is wrong with the brake system/rotors etc.
While braking, especially when braking at highway speeds: a steering wheel shake, body vibration brake pedal pulsations .
