38 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 08/19/2025

The radiator cooling fan on 2018- 2020 Nissan Rogue sports has failed and does not turn on, which causes the vehicle to overheat and the air conditioning system to stop functioning properly. This problem creates a significant safety risk, as the vehicle can quickly overheat when idling or driving in traffic, potentially leading to engine damage, vehicle breakdowns in unsafe locations, or even fire hazards due to overheating. The issue has been widely reported by many Nissan Rogue owners, and I have confirmed through online forums and news reports that there is an active class action lawsuit related to defective cooling fans in Nissan Rogue models. The cost of replacing the cooling fan is significant, often over $1,000, and there are widespread reports of shortages in replacement fan assemblies, making it difficult to repair the vehicle in a timely manner.

This is a costly repair, and the dealership is quoting over $1,200 to repair. After further investigation and discussion with dealership, this appears to be a common defect and clearly a manufacture. When researching this matter, it appears that this is a commonly reported defect on the NHTSA website for this specific make and model. I believe that this warrants further investigation by the NHTSA to protect consumers and in the interest of public safety from Nissans faulty product.

46 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2023 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 08/12/2025

Subject: failure of Nissan to remedy safety issue similar to existing recall – Nissan Rogue dear national highway traffic safety administration, I am submitting this complaint regarding Nissan north America’s refusal to address a serious mechanical issue on my Nissan Rogue that is substantially similar to an existing recall. Despite the fact that my vehicle is experiencing the same symptoms and failures described in NHTSA campaign, Nissan has declined to perform the necessary repair under the recall. Details: vehicle: 2023 Nissan rouge mileage: 62750 recall reference: description of issue: my Rogue has exhibited loss of power which is identical to the condition Nissan has acknowledged in the recall. Nissan’s response: when I contacted my dealer and Nissan consumer affairs, they advised that my VIN is not included in the recall, even though the failure is the same as those vehicles covered. Safety concern: this issue poses a significant safety risk, as it stalling at high speed, inability to accelerate, the complete engine failure. The refusal to cover this repair leaves me with an unsafe vehicle and an undue financial burden, even though Nissan is aware of the defect. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate Nissan’s handling of this matter and consider expanding the scope of the recall to include vehicles like mine that are experiencing the same hazardous defect. Thank you for your attention to this urgent safety matter. Sincerely, [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

47 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2019 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 08/12/2025

To whom it may concern, I am submitting this complaint regarding my 2019 Nissan Rogue sport, which has developed a significant mechanical issue with the engine cooling fan. My vehicle has fewer than 61,000 miles, yet the cooling fan is failing and requires replacement—an extremely costly repair for a vehicle with relatively low mileage. Through my own research and conversations with other Nissan Rogue and Rogue sport owners, I have discovered that this is not an isolated incident. Many owners report premature cooling fan failure, often well before 70,000 miles. This suggests a potential manufacturing defect or design flaw that could affect a wide range of vehicles, not just mine. The failure of a cooling fan poses a serious safety risk. If the fan stops working properly, the engine can overheat, leading to sudden breakdowns, potential loss of power while driving, and increased risk of accidents. Additionally, overheating could cause further engine damage, compounding repair costs for consumers. Given the frequency of reported failures and the high cost of repair—often totaling thousands of dollars—I believe this issue warrants an immediate investigation and a potential recall. The root cause should be identified and corrected at the manufacturer level so that consumers are not forced to bear the financial burden for what appears to be a common defect. I respectfully request that the NHTSA investigate this matter and determine whether a recall should be issued for 2019 Nissan Rogue sport models and potentially other affected model years.

48 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2023 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 08/11/2025

The main issue involves the engine bearings (recall campaign kr15, NHTSA id 25v-437). According to Nissan, certain engines equipped with the 1. 5l vc-turbo have a manufacturing defect in the main, a-, c-, and l-link bearings or related components. This defect can lead to engine damage and, in some cases, complete engine failure. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This situation puts my safety and the safety of others at risk, because if the engine fails while driving, it may cause a sudden loss of motive power, significantly increasing the risk of a crash. I am especially concerned because I frequently drive on highways and in traffic conditions where a sudden loss of power could result in an accident. The issue has been confirmed by Nissan through the recall notice, but as of now, the remedy is still pending, and there is no immediate fix or available parts for the engine bearing defect. My vehicle has not yet been inspected by Nissan for this recall, and I have not received a loaner vehicle or alternative solution to ensure safety while the remedy is pending. In addition, there are two other active recalls: turbo hose defect (Nissan id p4a47) – may cause fuel vapor smell inside or around the vehicle. Eem logic (Nissan id p3a28) – related to the underhood switching module (usm/ipdm), which may lead to a vehicle no-start condition. Before the engine problem fully manifests, there are warning signs including unusual engine noises, rough engine performance, and warning messages appearing on the dashboard, such as the malfunction indicator light (mil). These symptoms appeared progressively and have increased my concern about the possibility of a total engine failure while driving.

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 25v437000 (engine and engine cooling); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. 50 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2023 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 08/10/2025

My 2023 Nissan Rogue with less than 38,000 miles is experiencing severe engine failure. This has happened multiple times (more than 30 times) on the highway and in the city. When I am in slow-moving traffic or stop at a red light, the engine appears to rev and a warning light comes up "engine malfunction. Power reduce. Service now. " then the speed reduced, and no matter how hard I stepped on the gas pedal, the speed would not go past 8 miles per hour. I had to turn on the hazard lights to warn motorists behind me. To get the car to function, I turned off the engine, let it cool for a few minutes, and turned it on again. This issue has been going on for months. I took it to the Nissan dealership, and they could not find the problem. I am afraid of driving in slow traffic and of stopping at the traffic light. Please, somebody, needs to pass this on to Nissan so they can fix this problem? from online discussions, this appears to be an ongoing problem with many 2023 Nissan Rogues.

On [xxx] I was at a stoplight with my children and when it turned green I went to proceed and then I was moving slowly and it wasn't letting me go any specific speed and died in the middle of the road on a busy intersection at that leaving my children and I at risk of being potentially hit by another car, and it was in the evening time something could have happened to us ladies as I have a [xxx] and a [xxx] and I'm a [xxx]. Mind you my battery was brand new so there was no indications on my dashboard giving me any sign of warnings nor was my Nissan Rogue driving any different as I've kept up with maintenance and oil changes all of the above. So not only did I have to get out and push my Nissan Rogue out of the road my [xxx] had to steer and I about got ran over and that's jeopardized in my life and then my kids wouldn't have had a mother thank god people jumped off their bicycles to help me. Then people the gas station tried to jump me but they're jumper cables and they said your battery is completely dead and I said that's not possible because I have a brand new battery as of a couple weeks ago just for the simple being that I'm responsible and I replace things when it's past the time and needs to be replaced. So my friend drove all the way up to us went across the street to autozone and bought a brand new battery and put it in then car started right up and was back to normal. But after the girls and I got home and went to bed we got up did our normal daily routine and got in the car to go do some errands and I pull out of my neighborhood and then boom I did it again and I was stuck in the middle of traffic on [xxx] . Three officers had to block off traffic then battery wouldn't hold a charge with that brand new battery three batteries later and an alternator we'll see what happens now information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Failure Date: 07/25/2025

I bought my daughter a new 2023 Rogue sl in June-2023 at our local Nissan dealership in concord, CA. On [xxx] the car's engine completely cut-out on [xxx] on a trip to l. A. Fortunately, my daughter was able to coast to the far lane and call aaa for a tow to the valencia dealership. There the service rep told her that two other rouges had also been towed off the grapevine that day. They kept the car for a couple days and replaced the engine oil temp sensor which got her back home. On [xxx] the engine again completely cut-out while my daughter was crossing [xxx] on her way to work. More fortunate than the [xxx] incident, my daughter was able to coast off the bridge via an offramp in [xxx]. Once again aaa came to the rescue towing the car to the concord dealership where it now sits for evaluation. The service department told me that they need to bring in a high-level mechanic to go through not only this engine but several other Nissan and Infiniti engines. Needless to say, both of these instances placed my daughter in extreme danger and for the grace of god she came through without injury. The nut and assembly came out of the oil pan when at a shop for a routine oil change. The repair shop had no knowledge of this problem until this happened (somebody else must have over-torqued it) and we, as owners, had no knowledge of the warning. As it is, I had no car until a new pan (still plastic) was ordered and installed with a "one-use plug. " is this the fix for the engine recall? Nissan needs to replace all of these inferior plastic pans.
