: the contact states there is a NHTSA recall campaign 02v293000, concerning the air bags. The manufacturer was contacted and gave verbal authorization to perform recall repairs. When the vehicle was taken to the dealer for recall repairs they refused to perform the work because the vehicle did not demonstrate the problems indicated in the recall. The manufacturer was contacted, and they agreed with the dealer that the recall work should not be performed if the vehicle was not showing signs of the defect. Because the recall work was not performed the contact felt the air bags may deploy without warning and cause an injury.

Per NHTSA action number rq04001. I own a 1999 Plymouth Voyager and the cruise control quit working and found this open investegation. Plymouth has changed the clock spring on this vehicle at least twice in the past due to a clicking sound in the steering wheel. Now my wife does not have cruise and the vehicle is no longer under warranty. Thought you might want more consumer input.

My 1998 Plymouth Voyager is not on the recall list for the clock spring replacement. I experienced the same problem with this vehicle and had it fixed before the recall came out. Chrysler is now refusing to reimburse me for the repair claiming it is not in the original recall list. I believe the recall list is not reaching all of the effected vehicle's and should include all 98 Voyagers.
Driver and passenger front air bags deployed while driving with no impact with any object.

While driving 45mph another vehicle made a "u" turn without warning. Voyager hit other vehicle which pulled over to the right, rearending vehicle. Driver's side was damaged. While driving 28mph had a head-on accident with a truck, driver airbag inflated, however passenger airbag came out not inflated. Driver and passenger were injured.
While vehicle was being driven air bags deployed without a collision occurring, cause unknown. Also, in rainy weather conditions water enters vehicle from dash area, causing electrical shortage. The windshield wiper had no gasket along botton. Tire tread separated while traveling. Four sets of brake pads and two sets of rotors faile in two years period.
I had contacted dealer about problem while vehicle was on extended warranty, I was told that air bag failures were not covered by extended coverage nor covered by manufacturer because of ntsa issues. I now drive a vehicle that I consider unsafe to be in because the manufacturer will not take responsibility for repairs. Isn't this a safety issue that the ntsa should force the manufacture to take responsibility for???.
