Air Bag Problems of Saturn VUE - part 1

The contact owned a 2006 Saturn Vue. The contact stated that while driving at a slow speed under the 50 mph speed limit, the vehicle slid on a patch of black ice; the contact was able to correct the vehicle. The contact stated that there was snow on the ground.  soon afterwards, the vehicle slid on another patch of black; the vehicle slid across the road and hit the embankment head-on. The vehicle went up the embankment and down to the ditch below, where the vehicle landed on the driver's side, where it came to a stop. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that none of the air bags deployed. A police report was filed. Afterwards, the contact and the contact's daughter stopped by the clinic. The contact suffered minor injuries to the chest caused by the seat belt. The contact had bruises across the chest. The contact's daughter was in the front passenger seat, and her head hit the windshield. The daughter sustained a bump on the head, which turned out to be a mild concussion, and some bruises. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The insurance company was notified of the accident. The contact was unsure if the insurance company had declared the vehicle a total loss. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.  .

Takata recall first my ignition started sticking and then my battery would not start my car now my car wont even turn on because the ignition is stuck on off the key goes in but wont move. . And on my remote when I unlock my doors my hot seat buttons flicker and sometimers my air bags say there not on.

I was driving from providence ri to athens OH. I was in west virginia around morgantown, driving from 68 west to 79 south ramp, and I was driving in the range of speed limits. Suddenly in the ramp, I felt car is turning unwantedly to the left, and I tried to bring it back to the road but I could not, and the car hit orthogonally the jersey barriers on the left hand side of the ramp. My airbags opened, one of my tires exploded, and front of my car completely wrecked. Fortunately, no one hit me from side and behind. I could really die, I see death in front of my eyes when I was turning with the car. I had replaced my control arm, shocks rotors, brake pads, all in the past two months of the accident. But this car was terribly bad in the turns and ramps before the accident. The suspension system did not work well in these cars in compare to their heights, and always you have the chance of collapsing. Fortunately, I did not collapse. It had happened a lot for me that I felt these car in not stable in ramps and turns, but I never thought a dangerous accident would happen to me. I also did not have collision insurance, and I had to sell my car for a 100 $ to a junk yards. I am almost sure there is some problem with their suspension systems, and I am requesting to investigate this issue in these cars.

The contact owns a 2005 Saturn Vue. While the vehicle was parked in the driveway, the passenger door air bag and the driver's side door air bags inadvertently deployed without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer (central Buick GMC of norwood, 70 boston providence hwy, norwood, MA 02062; (781) 473-0908) stated that the contact would have to pay for the repair since the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000. The VIN was not available.

When vehicle starts passager dash board makes tickong sound for about 2 min and stops. Passager seat will not go back latch does not work.

1. The off light of passenger airbag is on 2. If take brake the steering wheel will be shake, changed new brakes, it is same.

While I was sitting in my car waiting for my daughter to get out of work, the car was running, when there was smoke pouring from the steering column. I immediately shut the car off and the smoke dissipated. This was 2 days ago and now my wipers do not work. My mechanic said that the air bag wires had caught fire and burned out the wipers.

Driving vehicle around 55mph veered off onto loose gravel. Hit a drain culvert flew into the air, slammed down into a ditch, and hit several cut telephone poles used as landscape decorations with no front air bag deployment. Received medical attention and filed police reports.

Light for airbag comes on light and signal for seat belt comes on even though seat belt is engaged.

I just bought this car from a used car dealer. Never in my 40 years of driving have I ever "tested" horn operation. . . Seems I should have as the horn doesnt work. I found and replaced the fuse for the horn and after researching I found that this is a known problem on all 2002 Saturn Vue vehicles. . . . Why this isnt a recall issue I have no idea because the horn and air bag work off the same power line and the contact for the horn is the problem horn wise. I took my car to a chevy dealer to get an estimate on the "fix" and it would cost me 1100 bux to replace the faultily designed unit guaranteed to fail with another faultily designed unit guaranteed to fail.

2006 Saturn Vue. Consumer writes in regards to information on vehicles defective airbag problem.

Air bab light always on passenger side; dealer told us it is not working when lit; cost to repair about 900 dollars to replace entire air bag assembly. Feel gm is responsible for faulty air bag; Honda is finally owning up to their air bag issues.

A car hit me from behind and pushed me into oncoming traffic where I was hit by a car on driver front. Air bags deployed and the chemical in the bags caused 3rd degree burns on my hand and arms. Medical expenses were not that much but I have been left with scarring that I think are unattractive. Doctors say it is permanent. Are airbags supposed to explode and the chemical in them be released?.

I crashed the front end and no air bags.

2009 Saturn Vue. Driver states the engine stalled repeatedly, keys became stuck in ignition and the airbag and stability lights came on.

My son currently drives this vehicle and he mentioned that the key will come of the ignition with the engine in in the running mode. This has happened several times and I have brouht it to the gm customer service rep that handles the gm ignition recalls. I was advised that the VIN number does not fall in the recall list and was advised to take the vehicle to a gm dealer and have it repaired out of pocket expense .

Takata recall? my 2006 Saturn Vue airbag systems light keeps coming on and then will go off. It's been doing this for years with no accident in car history. Wondering if it(airbags) will go off in the middle of driving or not go off when it needs to.

The ignition will lock up and you have to move the steering wheel back and forth while you are turning the key trying to get to start. When driving down the road (usually in 4th gear) the gas peddle will stop working, you can put it all the way to the floor and get nothing. I usually can push the clutch in and make it work again. The passenger airbag will come on when no one is sitting in the seat.

My 2003 Saturn Vue continues to run when the key falls out of the ignition. If involved in a crash will air bags deploy ? this model is not on the recall list for gm products with this problem. Help!!!!.

Able to take key out of the ignition while driving. Bells go off opposite of what they should; when key is out after car is parked the alarm rings when door is opened. Passenger airbag reads off always. Passenger rear door will not close unless using extreme forse.

There was a recall under NHTSA campaign id number 14v047000 (air bags, electrical system) that the vehicle was not included in. The vehicle has not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

I bought this car in July 22, 2012 in city kia in orlando( used car) with 37,299 miles on this day. 2007 Saturn Vue. In March 2013 I took a ride from kissimmee to miami and when I came back home and got off the turnpike I heard a big sound under my car and it stared to slow down until it stopped completely in the middle of the street, I had it towed to a repair shop and they said it was the transmission,they fixed for $1,926. I also has some electrical problems, once in a while the radio goes randomly changing channels by itself and when I open or close the windows it sounds like it looses electricity, and also a leak from the air conditioner compressor is leaking a green fluid, also the airbag goes on sometimes but eventually turns off.

I was driving north on road that was having some road repair on a rough section I lost all power no steering hard brakes . I have had this prob several times since, thank you.

Upon entering my 2004 Saturn Vue and closing the driver door, both side curtain airbags deployed. The vehicle was not in motion, had not experienced any impact, and no one else was in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

I own a 2006 Saturn Vue purchase in January 2012 with 100,000 miles the problem is the air bag readiness light comes on almost constant . The dealer says its a pps problem this is a common problem in Saturns . Why is their no recall?.

Light appears, continues to stay on. Is this a electrical problem?.

The horn was sounding all the time was intermittent now on all the time , had to remove the fuse.

I noticed that my air bags were flipping on and off, and that when I hit the seat warmer the air bags flip back to on. I took my car to have it looked at and they told me that the heater in the seat was causing this problem. This is not safe at all.

Takata recall the air bag is being inflated and making the horn go off nonstop and I have to drive with the fuse for the horn taken out. To prevent from either the horn going off and exploding while I drive to work or etc. . . I have had the horn replaced a few years ago and the problem is worse again especially with the summer heat in georgia.

The dealer advised replacing the battery. The battery was replaced but to no avail. The dealer then advised that the air bag module was defective and causing the failure. The manufacturer offered a 50 percent discount on repairs. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 78,600 and the current mileage was approximately 78,700.
