2006 Toyota Sienna. Consumer writes recall 17v-657 shift lock solenoid assembly & excessive corrosion of spare tire dealer out of stock. The consumer stated the recall repair exceeded a reasonable amount of time.
Powertrain fails at 140,000 miles which is very unusual for Toyota [repair cost ~4000 quoted from dealer]. Also, there are plenty of electrical problems starts with failing actuators such as sliding door actuator [$~1500 quote from dealer], hvac air blend actuators [$~850 quote from dealer]and vehicle stability control solenoids [$~500 quote from local]. Please help us and others to shed some light on such kind of issues since it costs too much. In winter time when heater is not working.
Toyota dealer (victory Toyota of canton , 46352 michigan av, canton, mi 48188) failed to fix the shift lock solenoid assembly that a subject of a recall and promised to call once the new parts are available. It has been more than 2 months and the part has not been replaced.
