The contact owns a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 70 mph, there was an abnormally loud pinging sound coming from the engine. The vehicle lost motive power, the brakes and the steering wheel became inoperable. The message "depress start" was displayed. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was initially diagnosed that the battery failure was unsoldered. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. While being test-driven by the mechanic, the vehicle stalled. After further investigation, it was determined that the engine needed to be replaced due to the main bearing failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, opened a case and informed the contact that a case worker, near his location, would contact him in 24 hours. The failure mileage was approximately 9,025.

Failure Date: 05/25/2024

The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet silverado. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting a left turn the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was able to be restarted and taken to a dealer. The dealer was able to look at the vehicle and diagnosed the vehicle as the ground wire, and positive wire and electrical connection box had low resistance causing the battery to drain and lose voltage. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000 .

3 12v/24v/48v Battery problem of the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 01/21/2022

The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. The contact jumped the battery and was able to restart the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that while reversing, the brake pedal was depressed but went all the way to the floorboard and hesitated to respond. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred three times. The contact stated that the third time the failure occurred, he jumpstarted the vehicle and the vehicle restarted; however, the engine seized. The contact stated that the trailer brake warning light and several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact turned off the vehicle and restarted the vehicle and was able to drive the vehicle at slow speeds. The contact charged the battery overnight and was able to start and drive the vehicle the next day. The contact also stated that the parking brake was electronic and made it impossible to stop the vehicle in the event the battery failed. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 35,800.
