1 Car Will Not Start problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 06/08/2019

While parked in a parking lot, the vehicle would not start. The truck mad a clicking sound and all lights lit up on dashboard, but no concise error message. Truck then started, but lost power when I put it into reverse with all lights coming on again. Turned off ignition and then the truck started. Drove the truck 2 miles to my home and when pulling into my driveway, the truck lost total power and nearly caused me to crash in to a parked vehicle. I was able to avoid the collision and I turned the key off in the ignition. I waited a minute and the truck started without issue. The next morning, the truck had the same issue starting - clicking sound but would not start. It finally started and I took it to my local shop to get a diagnosis. They could not find the issue. The next day, the same clicking noise occurred and it wouldn't start after multiple attempts. I called aaa to have my vehicle towed to the shop. When aaa came, the mechanic was able to start the vehicle. I then drove it to the repair shop for another diagnosis. They could not pinpoint the issue and recommended that I take the truck to the nearby Chevrolet dealership, which I did. They had it for 2 days and could not find an issue - drove, tested, diagnosed multiple times to no avail. Truck also did not show any signs of power loss, etc. Today, for the fifth time in the last 8 days, there was an issue. Truck started normally, drove approx. 2 miles and parked. When attempting to start, the same problem occurred - clicking sound, lights lighting up on the dash board and this time, a stabiltrak error came on and off. Truck then started after 3 attempts so I drove it home. Went to restart and the clicking sound with lights on the dash lit up again. The power loss while driving has occurred 3 times in the past, but the vehicle started up with no other issues. Had this truck for 4 years with no issues until now.

3 Car Will Not Start problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 03/20/2017

Vehicle completely shut off when coming to a stop. Loss of steering power, etc. After restarting vehicle and after about 10 miles, the error popped up stating that the theft deterrent system had kicked in and the vehicle steering jerked me into another lane on interstate 485 at roughly 70 miles per hour. . Two days later vehicle would not start, but after getting out of the vehicle and re locking and unlocking the door several times, the vehicle started. Today again the vehicle would not start. System stated that the battery was low and that the theft deterrent system was now engaged. Had to jump the vehicle off to get it started again. Had battery checked and it checked out completely fine. It is my feeling that there seems to be an issues with the electrical or a ground somewhere. After reviewing this issue online, there seems to be several other vehicles out there with the same issue. Very dangerous for the steering to completely take over at 70 miles per hour.

4 Car Will Not Start problem of the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 12/07/2016

My truck should have no issues as I follow the maintenance schedule and take good care of my vehicle but it has happened twice where I was in the middle of the interstate when my vehicle displayed the check engine light, traction off, stabiltrac off, the airvents stopped blowing cool air and released humidity, brakes were not functioning properly (hard to actually break), steering wheel/power steering was malfunctioning making it almost impossible to turn or get out of traffic and it seems the vehicle just decided to suddenly stall while in motion. I was very lucky due to sudden high risk of a vehicle crash and was able to pull over without getting anyone hurt. I turned the vehicle off once I got in park and looked under the hood, everything was fine showing no issues but I went to start the vehicle and it did not crank or try to turn over but all electronics/lights were still working. I I check all fluid levels, all was fine and then I went to try one more time to start the vehicle. To my surprise, it started up just fine and with only the check engine light on and not reading any other messages. All functions were working properly but I was too scared to go anywhere without having an idea what just happened. I went to the closest trusted auto place that would be able to use a scanner to find the trouble codes of my check engine light. The code was for a malfunction with the internal control module (code: p0601). This has happened to me twice in the last week and its very scary to feel at risk for a sudden malfunction to cause a crash. After researching, I noticed that there was a recall bulletin 14515b, that had covered pretty much the same issues and for my vehicle's year/model. My VIN didnt register for any recalls, I don't understand how other vehciles are getting qualified in order to prevent the same issues I'm experiencing.

6 Car Will Not Start problem of the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 01/21/2014

The first incident was in January 2014 while traveling on the highway at 55 mph the door locks started to cycle rapidly, the gauges all went to zero, the airbag rediness light came on and a service stabilitrac message appeared. The next day the vehicle would not start, after moving the positive battery terminal cover to try and jump the battery all the lights came on and the vehicle started without needing to be jumped. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they checked everything and found nothing wrong. No codes were stored. They inspected the under hood fuse block and the battery pin tension, both were good. The vehicle has run fine with no problems until November 2014, now it has started doing the exact same thing as it was doing in January. I will be contacting my local Chevrolet dealer and the Chevrolet regional manager again. Also it seems very unusual that the dealer and the regional manager have never heard of this problem. The Chevrolet forums are full of people having the same issues, also there is a technical service bulletin addressing the problem.
