The fuel pump went out, left me stranded and was replaced the transmission went out and was replaced. The lifters in the engine were replaced. When will the engine recall be addressed/acted on? the "cure" to install heavier engine oil is a very bad "bandaid". . . . Truly masks the problem. Maybe the chevy ceo should return her 2024 $25mm bonus to help pay for the repairs.

Passenger side lifters have failed, along with camshaft. The induced misfire caused a sudden and potentially unsafe jerking of the vehicle while on the expressway. The vehicle was on cruise control and running at 1,400rpms at the time of the failure. There were zero warning lights or vibrations/noises that could have indicated an imminent failure. Thankfully I was alone on the expressway at the time of the incident as the vehicle started bucking, jerking me out of my lane until I could regain control. Vehicle had 105,500 miles with all engine maintenance up to date prior to incident. Speed limit on this section of us31 is 75mph.
This truck has a problem where at low speed while turning left the engine surges and the truck speeds to 15 miles an hour unless I jam on the brakes . This started just turning left and now its starting to happen turning right . I had this truck to koons chevolet two or three times for this problem but it still persist to happen. This vehicle is dangerous.
The valve body for the transmission failed. While driving the vehicle transmission would shift violently. This would cause the truck to jerk forward a few times before engaging the next gear. At times it caused a slowed performance and could have caused an accident with another motor vehicle especially when traveling uphill. I brought the truck to a Chevrolet dealership and they confirmed this issue. I also completed online forum and general searches through google which confirm this is an issue especially with the 4 cylinder and v6 engines. The check engine light came on when the issue first occurred. The issue happened a week after my catalytic converter was replaced under warranty in July 2025.
I was driving in a straight line at 45mph when my truck jerked to one side. It felt like the back of the truck was sliding out from behind me and also felt like my truck was being pulled to a stop. A check engine light came on. I drove it back to my house (approximately 3 miles). The light went away but came back, and the transmission started overheating even though I was only going 10-20 mph. The truck randomly did the same jerking action while going home. I had to drive slow to get home. There was no warning when this happened. No lights, sounds, or other warnings. The jerking motion almost made me hit other cars, and almost made me lose control of the vehicle. It is available for inspection if needed. It has not been looked at yet because I found this website when researching the problem online. If you want to inspect it, then you need to inspect within 2-3 weeks because I’m military and I am getting stationed overseas.
I was driving to work last Monday when my truck entered a lymph mode. It would only let me go 40mph, when I was on a road that allowed others to go 60-70mph. I had traffic behind me as well. As I made it closer to work, the truck would only rev up. It left me sitting in a median with traffic going past me. Thankfully, I was not hit. I had to cut the truck off, wait several minutes, then start it back up to limp it to a safe spot where I could have it towed. I had it towed to a transmission shop. Please note* I have done the regular transmission maintenance on this vehicle as well. This shop done a diagnostic test on it ($95 +tax). It was a complete transmission failure. They told me this was due to the torque converter. General motors, gm, programmed the transmission torque converter to kick on in 2nd gear which causes it to overheat practically everytime it drives. The same transmission shop said they rebuild 3-4 of the 6l80 transmissions a week. I have a 2017 chevy silverado with a 6 speed transmission, the 6l80. . . . . This is an issue that gm should be held liable for. The transmission rebuild will be $4500-4800 + tax. Thank you to whomever reads this. I could really use help. My email is [xxx] . Phone number is [xxx] . I can provide rebuild cost and receipts when needed. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

I purchased my truck in December 2018 which is a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4x4 crew cab automatic from servco Chevrolet dealership in waipahu, hawaii and making monthly payments for my truck February of 2019 truck runs good and purchased the warranty also had my oil and service changed when time is due which I always kept up. [xxx] and mileage was 40k while leaving work to go home at a stop light was red once turned green I pushed pedal to go and truck just changed noise tone started to run like rough idle, loud tapping noise coming from the engine, shaking and check engine light came on almost causing me to get into an accident. I pulled on the side and checked what was going on and heard the tapping noise from the motor. So I made an appointment with service department with servco Chevrolet dealership where I bought my truck from and spoke with the service tech for my truck to go in for repairs due to issue. It took 2 to 3 weeks for repairs to be complete and service tech informed me that I'm not the only person to have that issue which had to do with the lifters and camshaft with these motors but gm never came out with any recalls due to how much people has the same motors with the same issue. So luckily it was still covered under warranty but said the problem might come back and would just replace the faulty lifters and camshaft. So in August of 2023 my truck has the same issue but wasn't covered under warranty anymore and mileage is 61k and missed the warranty repairs that was for the lifters which I got it scanned cause check engine light and same issue and code was p0016. So I called servco Chevrolet dealership in waipahu again and spoke with the service technician which he told me I just missed the coverage of the warranty repair and only way to get it fixed I would have to bring it back for them to scan and roughly would range from 4k to 8k to get it fixed. So my truck is parked in my garage and hasn't been moved but paying for truck. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act.

Vehicle transmission harsh shift and failed to shift gears. Feels as though I’m pushed forward when accelerating. Harsh clunk coming from the transmission. Transmission flush done at the dealer. Was told transmission needed a new valve body, part was on backorder and there were 25 similar trucks ahead and waiting. Several transmission related codes have also come up. 58000 miles.
The vehicle shots forward after some delayed acceleration.
The transmission has been shifting hard. I have had it serviced to try and address the issue. It continued to shift hard, until suddenly slamming me down and locking me into first gear. It would not shift from first gear until I found a parking lot, placed it in park, shut the truck off and restarted it. This caused me to nearly rear end the vehicle in front of me. This has not been reproduced to date because the shop cannot get to my truck for 4 weeks and I cannot be without a vehicle for that long (won’t schedule and let me bring in the day before). There has not been an inspection done by anyone because I was able to avoid the collision, and the shop is too far out time wise. There were no prior indications/lights to warn me of a severe problem. The dealership informed me that this has been an ongoing problem with the valve body inside the transmission, but there is no warranty or recall for it. They were sure happy to take my money without telling me of the problems when I bought my truck.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 30 mph and depressing the accelerator pedal, the transmission failed to respond as intend. Tranmission rebuild at 70000 miles.
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The vehicle was initially taken to the local dealer for NHTSA campaign number: 24v797000 (power train). The contact stated the vehicle was not repaired. While driving at 30-35 mph, the rear end locked up and threw the vehicle into the wrong lane. The other vehicles were able to drive around the vehicle during the incident. The engine revved and increased to high. The driver was able to pull over safely. The check engine, traction control, parking brake, and maintenance lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and indicated that the rear end was locked, the number 5 cylinder and wire harness needed to be replaced. The mechanic was unable to unlock the rear end. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer on six other occasion for unknown reasons. The manufacturer was contacted regarding a buyback. The failure mileage was approximately 34,958.
Transmission would not engage reverse gear. Then forward drive gears hard shift and surging. Truck delivered to dealer, inspection revealed a bad valve body. Parts availability unknown. No warning lights or caution lights. Just broke in a parking garage in aspen CO. I live in south texas. Truck and travel trailer in colorado. Truck has 16000 miles. Had this failed two days before we would have been on pikes peak mountain. And the danger of transmission failure going up or down the mountain would have been very dangerous.
Transmission just won’t last in this truck and it’s dangerous when you have kids in it.

This vehicle has been driven only on highway and local paved suburban roads. Fully maintained per manufacturer recommendations. This vehicle has never been used to tow. Transmission suddenly failed during driving creating an unsafe condition on a 55mph busy road.
Having transmission issues like other silvardos but not included in recall.
Having transmission problems but include in recalls like other silverados.
While driving, speed can vary, but yesterday we were going almost 50, and the transmission or brakes lock up which causes the back axel to lock up and the tire squeal, similar to slamming on the brakes. It caused my truck to sway side to side and scare the hell out of my son. Definitely not safe. The local dealer says it is a stuck valve or something. It has caused the engine light to come on multiple times, but will go off after 24 hours or so. But it keeps occurring. Happened 3 times on 7-8-25. Give a whiplash feeling to the body as well. One coded p0747 transmission solenoid valve 1 stuck on invalid configuration other time was p0700 transmission control module requested malfunction please issue a recall so this can be resolved before an accident or injury occurs.
When coming to a stop, the truck idols high before slowly going down. Seems unsafe as if is not wanting to stop. I am also hearing a chirping coming from under the hood.
Lost the high gears on the interstate. Had keep it under 60 to keep rpms under 4000.
Why is/was there no investigation in to the torque converters in these vehicles? I have the 5. 3l v8. Took it to a tranny shop and he has five on his lot, same transmission same generation all same issue. He says they start eating themselves and he has a few with only five digit mileage that he still needs to fix. A guy in my firehouse is a parts manager for a chevy dealership and knows the part number for the transmission off the top of his head because they fly through them and he has 19 in stock. Luckily I'm a good driver and when the transmission gave out on the highway I was able to control and get over without my kids getting hurt. But that is two shops confirming this is an issue. It's a safety issue. An expensive safety issue. There's even a tranny guy on facebook that says the same thing because these are mostly all he works on. I'm a bit shocked you all allowed this to pass through. Granted the shop said the american made parts in the torque converters are the ones failing, so it would look bad. But my kids could have been hurt if my wife was driving and couldn't control the truck. This is an epic failure. Five digit mileage trucks coming in for the same issue. He told me to keep up whatever maintenance I'm doing because coming in at 130k is the second highest he has seen.
Rear wheels of vehicle locked up momentarily mutliple times while driving between 45 and 65 miles per hour. Originally happened multiple times while towing a travel trailer but subsequently happened again with no trailer being towed. No warning lights or other sign of a problem leading up to any of the malfunctions. After locking up for approximately a quarter to half a second, the wheels release and the truck drives normally. Sudden wheel lock up could lead to loss of control or cause a vehicle to collide with the back of affected vehicle. Issue was reproduced by dealer service department and they recommended a new transmission valve body. This seems to be related to the recall for the transmissions on the diesel models of this truck but the gas trucks were excluded from that recall.
Driving ashland pass in or, the transmission over heated with the truck dinging for us to pull over an idle, there is no where to pull over on ashland pass for 8 miles. After sitting in an unsafe location with the truck idling wasting fuel we where able to get back on road after 30min. Upon arrival to location we where able to see that the exhaust system sits right on the transmission pan heating it up when truck is running. This model does not have a dip stick to check transmission fluid resulting in a $2500. 00 drop an drain to which I am told by the mechanic that this needs to be done every 40k. That is alot of cost 2x a year.
During acceleration my vehicle had a whinning noise coming from near the transmission. It will buck and then when slowing down to a stop it bucks like being hit in the rear by another vehicle. It also shudders and makes the reduce engine power light come on.
While driving at freeway speeds, my transmission malfunctioned and caused the rear wheels to briefly lock up. This sudden mechanical failure has occurred four separate times in the past month, each time while traveling at highway speeds. The incident creates a serious safety hazard — sudden rear-wheel lockup at high speeds can lead to loss of control, skidding, or collisions. Fortunately, I was spaced far enough from other vehicles during each occurrence, so no crashes or injuries occurred. However, this issue poses a major safety risk to both the driver and surrounding traffic, especially under different circumstances such as wet roads or heavier traffic. The issue appears to stem from the 10l80e transmission, a component widely used in gm vehicles from model years 2020 through 2025. Based on online forums and discussions, this is a known and recurring problem affecting a number of drivers, not just an isolated case. To date: the problem has not yet been diagnosed or confirmed by a dealer or service center, but it is reproducible, as it has happened multiple times under similar conditions. There were no warning lamps, messages, or symptoms prior to each failure — the malfunction occurred without notice. The component is not yet inspected by the manufacturer, insurance, or police, but it is available for inspection upon request. This issue requires urgent investigation by NHTSA, as it may affect a large number of vehicles on u. S. Roads. A sudden drivetrain lockup at highway speeds could lead to catastrophic crashes under less fortunate circumstances I am aware of the safety recall for vehicle years of 2020 -2022 but my specific truck manufacture date falls just outside the dates by a couple months.
