Code p2138. Truck goes into "limp mode" when pedal harness sensor gets wet. (I. E. Driving in heavy rain). Power and transmission reduce speed to less than 45mph. Will not go into any gear higher than 2nd. This happened to me on the interstate at driving at the posted speed limit of 75 mph. Had to pull over and limp 1 mile to the nearest off ramp creating a dangerous situation. Has been an ongoing issue.

I noticed several times it feels that it is not catching the gear and will suddenly lurch forward. I've taken it to the dealer and they said it is a transmission issue and no longer under warranty. Upon further research I've seen that there are many issues and complaints regarding this 2017 model year for this Chevrolet silverado.

This truck continues to slip out of gear when trying to accelerate. Yesterday, as I attempted to cross a road, the transmission was "hung up" between gears resulting in a very dangerous situation where I was unable to move until traffic came much closer. It started from a stop and when I tried to cross the road it was shuddering between gears. This continues to happen on this vehicle. Sometimes it's a hard shift, other times it slips out of gear and as I push the accelerator, the engine revs and it is not in a gear and it finally grinds into a gear and then there is a jolt when it slams into the gear and the truck lurches forward or sometimes it's enough to squeal the tires.

Transmission would not change gears. Slipping and caused high revs and sometimes would shift. They told me the hub that contained gears 4-6 was damaged. This a few months after cylinder #7 blew and had to replaced. All of course a few months after the warranty expired. Been complaining about the transmission for years.

At around 82,000 miles car started to be hard to drive due to transmission failing to switch gears properly. . . Now at 92,500 it's barely switching gears. . . I received error codes and check at dealership, they say it's not under warranty. I knew I am covered up to 100,000 mike's for drive train. Please help!.

When I take off the truck jerks and shakes until about 5-10 mph. It sees like the transmission is not going into gear. It happens when I first take off to go.
Traveling at approximately 60 mph, on a busy city street, I heard and felt a loud bump that sounded almost like I was hit from behind and the check engine light illuminated. After the initial bump, I tried to accelerate but the truck just made a winding noise like it could not shift gears. The truck finally shifted but, would not change out of first gear. Luckily I was not hit from behind. I just happed to take a less traveled way home that day. If I had taken my normal route, which is the highway, I guarantee this could have cause an accident and possibility mine or someone else's life. The truck has had hard shifts since I purchased it certified preowned, which I see is a very common complaint. After having the truck checked by a mechanic, metal shavings were found in the transmission fluid, which will result in the transmission having to be replaced. All maintenance forthe transmission was up to date prior to thus happening.
Hard shift from 1st to 2nd and sometimes 2nd to 3rd causing the engine to rev high - city driving. When towing boat in tow or camper in tow mode, transmission will not switch gears when it should causing high rev - city and highway driving. Dealership has had it multiple times but find "nothing" wrong every time and then it shifts hard upon leaving the dealership. This happens frequently throughout the year regardless of the weather.
When putting vehicle in drive from park it jumps forward even with foot on the brake. When going from reverse to drive it feels like the vehicle is not in gear and then engages and then the vehicle makes a clunk noise and abruptly jumps forward. There is also a issue when going from first to second when accelerating and the same when downshifting. The transmission on this vehicle is very erratic in nature, you never know what it is going to do every time you drive it. This has been happening since the first 100 miles and I now have 8600 and still happening. I have taken it to the dealer and they stated they could not get it to repeat the issue even after letting it sit outside in 20 degree weather to cool everything down.
The 8 speed transmission sometimes gets hung in between gears or shifts very hard after it intermittently comes out of gear. This week, I went to cross a road on dry road conditions and the vehicle came out of gear, the engine revved and I was without a gear for 2-3 seconds, causing the oncoming traffic to be uncomfortably close by the time I regained power and was able to cross the road. There have been other times that I have been at a stop sign and I go to take off and the engine revs up as I hit the gas but it is not in gear and then abruptly snaps into gear, causing the tires to actually squeal. So this issue has happened when the truck is still moving and also when it was at a stop sign and not in motion,.
Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet silverado. While driving 30 mph the vehicle jerked and failed to switch gears. Air bag light is on. This is prompting me to think that this is related to the takata recall. My 2011 silverado has less than 100,00 miles. The transmission started making noises, then it stopped. Prior to that nothing was indicated as going wrong. One month later, the transmission will not move into gears. I have spent thousands of dollars to purchase this vehicle brand new and I am so disappointed in the service that I am getting out of it. Also the interior is deteriorating. My radio dials and heat/air control buttons are faded. The steering wheel is peeling. I even bought extended warranty. My power window went out, fixed by warranty. This truck has too many defects and I am seeking some answers and assisting in correcting these problems.

Transmission on my new 2016 z71 lt 4x4 jumps into low gear when slowing down. I took it to the dealership multiple times, but keep getting told it shifts fine. I took it again and had a manager drive the truck with me inside and agreed the transmission was not gettin into gear in a normal way. Toon it back to get it fixed and was told transmission is fine. I need this fixed or I will be returning he truck as a lemon title.
I have had this hard jerking and slamming of my transmission in my truck since I purchased it brand new. It occurs when going from reverse to drive it will hesitate and not go into gear and then it slams and jerks the vehicle violently with a aloud crack noise of the gears slamming together. It also occurs when I am in between the speed of 40-50 mph. I will be driving down the road and the truck will slam into gear while driving. It also had a very high idol and shakes the truck. I have brought my truck into the Chevrolet dealership for these issue 5+ times now and contacts the gm to help get my issue solved and they just can't not fix the issue. I don't want to get stranded with my family if the transmission decided to break or cause trouble. I have had multiple occurrences of this issue happening.
I first of all about a year ago and noticed 2nd gear has gone out in it since I very rarely went in the reverse it didn't notice that tell her I was in a predicament and had to push it out and now it's stuck in first gear.
