I have about 85000 miles on my car, I was driving to work and the engine light came up. The code for the engine light came up as p06da which most likely indicates a problem with the engine oil control solenoid (based on most of the videos and reviews on the internet). Unfortunately, gm never made a recall about this!! this problem costs about 3k to fix at the dealer.

With truck stationary, I have inspected and observed the following. Dash has cracked through multiple locations to include areas for stored airbags. Rattling sound is coming from insecure dash. Radio and speakers function intermittently and other times with static. Replaced speakers in doors and that did not resolve the problem. Drivers seat belt did not connect to receiver end. Replaced part ordered from gm parts website. A constant water leak comes from underneath dash along firewall into drivers side floorboards. Water soaked carpet and insulation has wicked to rear floor areas. No one has found the water source, but it has rusted driver side door panel screws and ruined carpet. Water appears to be worse when using hvacc or defroster. Replaced fuel vent valve solenoid underneath truck, near refuel cap/door, three times due to check eng light.

Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the service engine sensor illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who cleared the code from the computer and the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer multiple times who was not able to replicate nor diagnose the failure. The service engine sensor had illuminated again. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the solenoid evaporation em had been modified and that the solenoid evaporation em, canister evaporation emi, solenoid, gas cap, canister purge, fuel tank pressure sensor and the tubing had needed to be repair. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not indicate that the part had been modified. The approximate failure mielage was not available. Dyd.
