Trunk Wiring Problems of Chevrolet Suburban

Chevrolet Suburban owners have reported 2 problems related to trunk wiring (under the electrical system category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Trunk Wiring problem of the 2008 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 04/15/2012

Rear hatch failure. Electric opening. Opened 24 inches and then closed under motor power. Caught dog in the door though no serious harm done. However it did not reverse as it is supposed to do when it comes down on an object like a child or dog. Dealer replaced struts which seems to have fixed the problem. This is a serious flaw. It was just lucky it only caught the dog's tail. If it had caught her head, she would be dead.

2 Trunk Wiring problem of the 1999 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 11/30/1999

Three days after purchasing vehicle, and after using the lighter, power locks stopped working. Rear hatch would not open nor would the lighter work. Dealership was notified and the problem was fixed. It was supposedly a short in the wiring. Approximately 1 month later the same problem occurred after the lighter was used, this will be the second attempt to repair the vehicle.
