Engine Noise Problems of Chevrolet Trailblazer

Chevrolet Trailblazer owners have reported 3 problems related to engine noise (under the engine and engine cooling category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Engine Noise problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 10/16/2014

I was simply trying to clean my windshield with the wiper blades. When I flicked the switch the car shut off. I immediately got over and turned truck back on. A couple days later I was leaving out for work when I tried to start the car, it stalled and I heard a hissing noise. I couldn't get it to turn over or make any noise other than hissing. The speedometer started moving back and forth erotically. The radio and power windows works but the engine would not turn over. I had it towed to my repair man and he told me there was a electric problem and to call the gm dealership for further assistance. The truck will not start up. There is a short. It shuts off constantly while driving and sometimes I have to push it to avoid oncoming traffic. It won't sped up past 60 without troubling the transmission. While driving sometimes the speedometer doesn't work at all or it jumps, around without reading my correct speed. When I try turn signals it cuts off. When I turn my lights on and off it hisses. Something has to be done. Its my only means of transportation and I really need to find a solution.

2 Engine Noise problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 06/15/2007

The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The front passenger seat track cover was loose. In addition, the transmission would slip and the engine made a hissing sound while driving between 45-50 mph. The vehicle would drive in reverse and then shift into gear. The vehicle was taken to the dealer three times. When the contact removed his foot from the accelerator pedal, the vehicle would stop and not move again until it reached 5-8 mph (stabilizing track). The master cylinder also failed. When making a left or right turn ,the power steering would make a loud screeching sound. The vehicle was taken to the dealer six times. The dealer confirmed the failures. The current mileage was 49,000 and failure mileage was 13,000.

3 Engine Noise problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 06/01/2003

I received a letter stating that my "2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer may experience a cracking of an engine cylinder bore liner. This will cause engine noise, poor performance and/or stalls with no engine re-start. This is not a recall. Do not take your vehicle has the condition as described above". I feel that this is irresponsible by Chevrolet and the action they are taking is also irresponsible. They are covering the vehicle for 7 years or 100,000 miles. Please look into this and make Chevrolet correct the problem. If they know they are putting a faulty product on the market they should be responsible enough to correct the problem. Nestor valle .
