While driving airbag light came on with interior lights flicking on/off while driving on every occasion for last 1-2 months. Also while driving would say right rear sliding door was open with lights on while driving. Air bag light has since gone off and came back on/off but interior lights remain on at times while driving. Sometimes rear sliding door sounds like it's trying to latch. Local garage unable to find anything wrong it. I believe there is a electrical shortage that started with airbags and from reading there is a takata recall on other vehicles causing a circuit shortage like this.

Why are not all the 2005 Dodge Caravans not covered on the recall for the sensors that cause the air bag light to come on. It should not just cover the states that they figure that salt is used. It is used here in abundance because of cost and close vicinity of salt lake. If your VIN number doesn't come up they won't cover it but it is a safety item and I fell it should be covered for the life of the vehicle and should not be dismissed by location.

The air bag light keeps coming on and then goes out. I believes it the same problem covered for previous year models included in the clock spring NHTSA recall 04v480000. I believe the recall should be extended to all year models since it's the same problem. It happens at various driving speeds.
The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Caravan. While parked, the contact noticed that the air bag light was illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostics or repairs. The approximate failure mileage was 78,000.
2000 Dodge Caravan. Consumer states airbag light intermittently stays illuminated the consumer also stated when the air bag light illuminated, the horn did not work. The consumer complied with the recall. However, the dealer informed her the clockspring was not the reason the air bag light remained on and there was no problem with the clockspring. The consumer stated she was not given any paperwork on the vehicle stating the clockspring was in working order. When the consumer went to an auto repair shop six months later, it was determined the clockspring was bad.

The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, but the dealer could not diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in the recall associated with NHTSA campaign id number 10v008000 (air bags: frontal: sensor control module). The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 67,000. Updated 03/05/lj updated 03/06/12.
The horn and cruise control suddenly stopped working and the air bag light came on and wouldn't go off. I went online to see to repair it, and discovered that there had been a recall in 2005 for this problem with doge Caravans. I never received a recall notice and the dealer told me I have to pay for the repairs. Is there anything that you can do?.
I have a 2002 Dodge Caravan and the airbag light just came on on my dash. My mechanic scanned the code and got "passenger squib #1 circuit open". He tells me that I need a whole new wiring harness or a whole new airbag but that the problem is a connector that used to be available from Chrysler but is not any more. This seems crazy. I want the problem fixed as I don't have a passenger side airbag right now but it seems that Chrysler should supply the connector or fix the problem on a recall.

We purchased our 2005 Dodge grand Caravan new and the airbag light just started coming on and off this winter (2009-2010). Now the airbag light stays on all of the time. I took it to an independent shop to have them run the diagnostics on the light. The code came back as a bad lf airbag sensor and from there I started searching on the internet. I found that there was a major recall on 312,442 Dodge Caravans for this exact problem (corrosion on sensor). I called Dodge to find out if our van was included in the recall. They informed me that it was not included in the recall and basically said I was out of luck but to save my receipts for the repair in case it was to ever be included in the recall. As of now I have not replaced the sensor because I feel this is a known safety problem and should be taken care of by Dodge. As of now our airbags are not operating at all because the repair is quite costly and I am frustrated to think that Dodge knows they are putting lives in danger but obviously only recalled a limited number of units.
Air bag lighting on and leaking steering rack air bag sensors right and left plus wiring harness had to be replaced because of road salt winter environment had recall on 2005 Dodge Caravans but not covered on 2006 Dodge Caravans Dodge dealer know about problems with leaking steering rack but won't stand behind there product I just spent 1493. 61 having steering rack replaced both left and right impact sensor and harness and evap leak detection pump and hoses along with purge solenoid cause by steering rack and pinion leaking on to pump.
2005 Dodge Caravan - airbag light is on. Vehicle apparently does not meet the criteria for the recall campaign but has the general requirements needed for replacement: 1. Airbag sensor illuminated 2. Vehicle registered in a "salt belt" area which could cause corrosion.
The airbag light turns on at the beginning when a child or a light load is in the passenger's seat. It then turns off once I start going. I don't know if that means that it is on or off and am concerned. Secondly, I recently had to repair the runner on the drivers side back sliding door. The wire that went through the middle of it was in jeopardy of getting damaged if I didn't. I had to pay $350 to get this repaired. It looks like I'll have to be repairing the passenger's side in the future as it is showing signs of deterioration.
First it was the emergency flashers went on and couldn't get them to stop took it in to folsom lake Dodge to get it fixed it was still on factory warrant and they replaced the clock spring is what they told me. Then after that after the warrant was done the air bag light on the panel in front of the stirring wheel came on and wouldn't stay off it comes on most of the time and stays so I don't know if my air bags or on or off. Now yesterday my door locks wouldn't work unless I do it manually but I can't get the back gate to lock around here you need to keep the doors locked removed the battery cable and it working right now but ready about it I'm not the only one has this trouble. I feel the is a manufacturer problem here can you let me know what can be done to get this fixed I fell this is a safety issue. And it needs to be fixed. I got my van when the 2005 first came out March 2004.
