I hit a moose calf driving my 2010 Dodge grand Caravan at about 65 mph. I barely had time to hit the brakes so I was going quite fast when I hit and killed the animal. The front end of my van crumpled up and the radiator, etc was destroyed, the windshield smashed, hood buckled, driver's door unable to open. While the explosion that is connected with an airbag deployment occurred (the chemical cloud filled the vehicle), the airbags themselves did not inflate. I informed the repair shop about this and they will save the airbag assembly for me to provide to Chrysler for investigation.

The contact owns a 1999 Dodge Caravan. The contact stated that the abs light remains illuminated and the horn failed to work at the same time. She believes the failures are related. Initially, the abs light would go on and off, followed by a chime to alert the driver. Currently, it is constantly illuminated and no longer chimes. A diagnostic was performed in April of 2007 and the mechanic could not find anything wrong. The purchase date and failure mileages were unknown. The current mileage is 93,000.

On November 2, 2006 my wife (7 months pregnant) was hit head on by another sedan. She was driving a 2003 Dodge Caravan. I believe that air bags deployment and vehicle design may have been the cause of serious broken arms/wrist and foot. In addition to wife's injuries, three other passengers also suffered broken limbs and shoulders.
During head on accident, car's air bag broke drivers right arm and shattered wrist. Other three passengers and drivers suffered broken right foot and several bruises.

The manufacturer was notified about reimbursement for parts and labor. The manufacturer only agreed to reimburse for parts not labor. My 98 Dodge Caravan had a failed clockspring, which caused the airbag, horn, and cruise control to not function. Chrysler has a recall on a failed clockspring for 96-98 Dodge Caravans, and clearly states on its website it will reimburse customers for repairs to the clockspring. However, when I brought mine in for repair, and on subsequent phone calls and letters written to Chrysler, they indicate that my build date was not included in the recall. They need to expand the build date to later months in 1998, and consequently increase the amount of cars covered in the recall, because there is obviously a problem with the clockspring during my build date. This will cause people to have non-functioning airbags, cruise control, and horns, and unfortunately, may cause lives to be lost. I believe Chrysler should also reimburse me the $284. 20 I had to pay to get the clockspring repaired, as they indicate on their website they will reimburse customers with 98 Caravans for repairs on failed clocksprings. By them not reimbursing me, they are falsely advertising on their website.
