Incident #3 this is the third time my car instrument panel did this under 25,000 miles. I was driving down the road and I can see that I am actually moving but none of my instruments are. None of them move all the while the car door ajar lights are on so after checking the doors 3-4 times I just drove on as they were clearly closed . Fueled up the car and restarted. Instruments all a go . Sometimes it takes overnight before the panel works again. Airbag light has been on for 6 months and check engine light is always popping on and off . How will I know if the van is really is danger of breaking down , or perhaps running out of gas as this van has cried wolf too many times . I will never know if a problem really exist . I consider this a major safety issue . I have received an airbag recall, so that's one down but when will they recall the whole instrument panel it is either shutting completely down or popping up check engine light . I have taken this car in for this check engine light several times. They just say " maybe you didn't put the lid on the gas tank right" . So at one time that lid was replaced. I am not under warranty any longer but I don't like the idea of driving down the interstate with 4 kids and not knowing how fast iam going or if I am running out of gas. Like I said before the instrument panel just not working at all is a major defect . Iam not sure but I think the system is corrupt. Planning to trade if action is not taken in the near future. I pay for a reliable car and that's not what iam getting . I hope there are others who have had this experience so that the instrument panel will be recalled.
Airbag sensor light on Dodge Caravan 2005 was indicating, had to spend 122. 42 to get it replaced. Sounds like NHTSA ea06003.
Air bag warning light comes on as soon as weather temperature exceeds 20 centigrade. . Did this in 2006 and has done again in may 2007. Local dealer said it was a possible sensor problem in front bumper area. Had done nothing as problem disappeared when temperature fell to below 20 centigrade.

The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Caravan. While driving approximately 50 mph, the air bag warning light would sporadically illuminate on the instrument control panel. One year later, the failure recurred and the light remained illuminated. The contact noticed that the failure occurs only in rainy weather conditions. The dealer stated that although he was experiencing the same failure referenced in NHTSA campaign id number 07v192000 (air bags:frontal:sensor/control module), his VIN was not included in the recall. The contact would have to pay for the repair. The failure mileage was 30,000 and current mileage was 42,000. Updated 05/06/08 the dealer replaced the front impact sensors. Updated 05/06/08.
My wife was driving from work while getting on to the freeway the check engine light came on. Two minutes later the airbag light came on also. Took to dealership next day and was told that both front impact sensors and connectors needed to be replaced. Vehicle is a 2005 with 43000 miles which is out of warranty so we will have to pay for repair. Parts were ordered but are on national backorder so they have no idea when they will come in.
My airbag light came on and I took it in to dealer and they replaced left impact sensor then 2 days later light came on again now they say it is right impact sensor.
Air bag light is on. Told sensors need to be replaced. Sensor replaced - charged over $300 and problem not fixed. Then told it is a different sensor that needs to be replaced.
Air bag lamp remains on. Diagnosed at dealer as clockspring failure. Cruise control issues as well. Like so many other Caravan owners.
I have a 2003 Dodge Caravan and all of a sudden when I slow down the air bag light comes on. I took it in to the dealer and they said it was the clock spring. After doing some research online, I am 1 of thousands of people with this issue.

Failure of front mounted airbag sensor and wiring harness. Airbag light came on.
- the contact owns a 2001 Dodge Caravan. The contact stated that there was a safety recall. However, this vehicle did not qualify under the safety recall due to the VIN. The safety recall was on the clock spring. The contact stated that the clock spring is exactly what has failed in this vehicle. The airbag indicator light came on several times while driving. Neither speed nor weather were factors in the clock spring failure.

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Caravan. The contact was driving 60 mph when the air bag failure light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the dealer reconnected the wiring for the air bags. The manufacturer was contacted and they confirmed that the VIN did not qualify for repairs under NHTSA campaign id number:10v008000(air bags:frontal:sensor/control module). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage was 61,000.
I have had to replace the airbag sensors or my airbags could have deployed! I have a 2005 Dodge Caravan sxt. The brakes and rotors for this vehicle are bad to they have had to been replaced and this was costly!.
My air bag light is on all the time. I'm on my third sensor. For me, they last about six months before the problem returns. My mechanic says the airbag won't deploy if needed, others say it could deploy for no reason. The vehicle is beyond the original warranty and because the vehicle is beyond the original warranty, the dealer is not willing to cover the costs even though it is clearly a flaw with this vehicle. There is currently no recall that I am aware of.
During normal driving operations the airbag warning light would intermittently come on. Now it comes on at the start of the engine, and does not turn off. It appears that this is the same clockspring problem as was recalled earlier.
I noticed in a news article that there may be an investigation of Dodge Caravan's with issues related to their air bag sensors. My company leases a 2005 Caravan for me, and I have had the air bag sensor replaced once and it has now failed again. I'm not sure how you collect this information, but thought it might be important to you.
: the contact stated the air bag light continued to illuminate without previous problems with the air bags. The vehicle has not been seen by a dealer or repair shop. Updated 2/16/2006 -.
I have a 2005 Dodge Caravan that I bought new from foster motors, a Dodge dealer from middlebury, vt. This winter, the air bag warning light came on and stayed on. I took the car to the dealer and they replaced front air bag sensors that had rusted. They did this under warranty and I did not have to pay. I thought it was very odd seeing how the car is about a year old. I have never had any problem with any air bag of any vehicle I owned before. Perhaps some parts made of bamboo from overseas? perhaps not because bamboo will not rust. At any rate, I see where there is an investigation of this problem. You can add mine to the list if you wish. The date of the problem is an estimate. Thank you, dennis from vermont.
Contact owns a 2005 Dodge Caravan. On 10-11-05 was driving home from a trip when the airbag warning light came on. Took it to the dealer the next day, the vehicle was put on a machine where they found that the sensors and the wiring harness were defective. This was located on the passenger's side. The one on the left side which was the driver's side was not fixed. The contact felt that the manufacturer should pay to have the driver's side sensors and the wiring fixed at no charge to the contact because they also were defective.
I have 2002 Dodge Caravan and have had to replace the airbag sensors for both the passenger and driver bags since the summer of 2005. Each failed at a separate time. I have a service contract on the vehicle (roughly 50,000 miles) but had to pay the deductible.
Air bag light stayed on/the cruise control switch didn't work, and the horn malfunctioned. Noticed these failures on June 1, 2005. Have not contacted the dealer. Had checked the fuses, they were still good.

The contact stated the srs warning light came on. The dealership said there was corrosion on the airbag connector and on an open circuit in the connector line. They cleaned off the corrosion both times. The airbag would need to be replaced if the problem occurred again.
