Brake Abs Warning Light Problems of Dodge Caravan

When driving the vehicle, at random times the abs system warning lights turn on and then I have no brakes. I have taken it to several repair shops, seen various mechanics and dealerships and it continues to be a serious problem. No one has been able to solve or fix the problem. As a senior citizen, I am not in a position to purchase a newer vehicle, thus I continue to drive this vehicle. I am afraid that I may not be as fortunate when the brakes go out again.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where they stated that the abs system pump and motor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that once the vehicle was turned on the brakes made a loud noise and the abs light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician was unable to diagnose the problem. However, they replaced the rotor and pads. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,000 and the current mileage was 114,000. The VIN number was unavailable.

When applying the brake pedal abs light commenced to illuminate. Brake pedal went to the floor, and the vehicle experienced extended stopping distance before stopping. Vehicle was taken to dealer for repairs.

This is the 3rd time in 20 months that I have taken my 2002 Dodge Caravan ex in to the dealer for service. The abs light comes on and stays on. The dealer claims the problem is due to the abs sensors failing.

Consumer complained about ongoing abs brake problem. Abs light came on and would either go off within seconds or stay on all day. This caused brake failure on separate occasions. Also, brakes failed to stop vehicle immediately, resulting in extended stopping distance, which almost caused a rear end collision. Dealership was unable to correct the problem. They performed a diagnostic test but no failure code was found.

Abs light would come on intermittently. It is now on all the time. Dealer informs me that I need a new relay and hydrolic unit at an estimate of $1492.

When traveling at any speed on wet or dry pavement the abs light illuminated on the dash. Upon depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle became very hard to stop, causing extended stopping distance/brake fade away. Consumer has contacted the dealer has replaced parts.

While driving and brakes are applied, the steering wheel will vibrate then there's a noise (place unknown)and vehicle will have extended stopping distance. Problem will worsen when driving in wet conditions. The dealership cannot fix the problem, and they indicated that the abs brakes are the cause of the problem. Ts.
