"takata recall" I've had several experiences with my 2016 Dodge Durango that was bought brand in June or July 2016 with 23 miles on it from a Dodge dealership. A couple months after it was bought, the car cut off while driving presenting signals of "pull over", "check engine", "power train" and more. The signals were flashing non stop. Once I pulled over, the car wouldn't start or move so I put it in park and contacted the dealership. My car was towed to the dealership and the dealership stated that the repairs lied with the computer chip(s). It was a simple update needed. My husband and I paid for that. In March/April of 2017, we experienced our car rolling into the neighbors yard while on and in park. Our home camera taped me getting out of the vehicle while in park (according to the rear lights) in my front yard on the grass and then the car moving forward of which the camera stopped recording at this moment. When I walked back outside to my car, it was rolling onto the neighbors' property. I had to run and catch it. In the later months of 2017, the gas lever stopped working. After pushing the gas button, it wouldn't open and still doesn't open, so we have to open the gas using the "string" or pulley in the trunk space of the Durango by lifting the lift gate to get to it. In December 2018, the car wouldn't start. Dodge towed it to the nearest dealership and a new battery was needed along with recall updates. January 2019, the vehicle's dashboard went out with no lighting or anything showing although the car was operable. It is currently still in the shop while my family of 5 is operating with one vehicle.

The dash board will light up and the windsheld wipers will start to go with out doing anything, then the dashboard fails and powers down and then tries to start back up. It caused my Durango to lose power then power back up. I do have a video that I will try to include please excuse the language in it.

The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Durango. The contact experienced several failures within less than two weeks of owning the vehicle. There was an abnormal noise progressing from the electric control panel on the driver's side door area, the instrument cluster shorted out, various warning gauges illuminated, the emblem fractured from the front area of the vehicle, and the radio failed to function. The vehicle was not inspected by an independent mechanic. Uconnect was contacted pertaining to the failures and indicated that the previous owner reported the same failures. Uconnect suggested that a dealer be contacted. The dealer (stevens creek Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram, 4100 stevens creek blvd, san jose, CA 95129, (408) 248-1800) was contacted. In addition, dark smoke emitted from the tail pipe. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

Transfer case can be heard engaging even when vehicle is locked and unoccupied. Engaging is sometimes triggered by the remote when locking/unlocking doors. 4 lo light started to flash then my back wheels locked up when I was driving 70 mph on the bypass with children in the truck. It is a miracle we didn't roll over, but another truck was forced off of the road while I used two lanes to try to control the Durango. I took the truck to the dealer and no one could find anything wrong with it (no active code). . . It drove fine for a few days then the srvc 4x4 light came on and the truck switched into neutral while trying to cross a street. . . I couldn't move in the middle of a busy intersection. Towed the truck to the shop. Shop stated they didn't know what to fix. Still no active code, truck seems fine. I drove it a few more days and now it has slipped into a lower gear. Cannot travel over 35 mph. . Parking, reverse and tight turns are very difficult. My take off speed is nearly nonexistent. Truck shifted back into neutral on its own as I was making a right hand turn. I shut off and restarted the truck three times. All three times it sounded like a stun gun sparking behind my dash and it lit up with a white light from inside. The instrument panel cluster has failed. Recall g07: instrument panel cluster: known to overheat and catch fire. The recall was performed on my truck in 2007, there was no warranty on the replacement part. Dealership will not help. I am so sorry I bought this truck. Please. . . Why is Chrysler only responsible for fixing a recall one time/vehicle? they know it will fail again. It did, has and will continue to fail. Numerous owners have the same problem. . . Replacing transfer cases, cpu modules and their problems do not go away because their problem is a difficult to diagnose recalled instrument panel cluster that will never code and tell on itself.

Takata recall. I took my vehicle in to have this recall fixed and was told it was repaired. Then I received another notice and was informed by the dealership they would contact me when they had the parts. I was never contacted and moved but still have the same number. Now I receive all this information about the danger and this vehicle is my wife and children's primary source of transportation. I fear for their lives while driving this vehicle, especially after watching the video. Also during the same time frame of this recall, my electronics on the vehicle began acting erratically. They still do occasionally but we have to drive it nonetheless. The instrument cluster will go dead with no lights or gauges working, the a. C. Will blow heat only or stop, the alarm goes off on its on, etc. All this while it is still running and drivable but you don't know how fast! right now it's acting somewhat normal. I really feel I was wronged in buying this vehicle! the date I listed was the first time it happened but it has happened several times after that up to last month.

The vehicles dash board lights will all light up, at one point I would have the gas floored and it would feel like I'm towing a house it started getting worse to the point the car would stall while driving so I would put it in neutral and it would start back up when the lights arent on it runs fine but once the light come on the dash board it acts up and all the lights come on tempature, check engine, air bag, 4x4, oil light ,battery light ,etc Dodge flashed my computer it worked for a week and then started again I have had many mechanics look at it along with Dodge and no one can figure out the problem , recently starting 5/27/15 the problems have proceedeed to get extremely dangerous now once all the lights light up it stalls and may not restart several times I've been stuck on the highway waiting an hour or two to restart it and now it only gets me a few feet then stalls plus its now doing it with no lights on the dash ,rpms ,mph etc , and when it drives sometimes there is nothing on dash but when I hit brakes all the guages will shoot up temparture and fuel even if its not a full rank it will say it then when I step on gas the dash board gos out, I have contacted corporate Dodge to resolve this issue telling them I've seen several numerous complaints the same as mine but yet no recall so they now want me once again to take it to Dodge, June 9th 2015 , but today June 3rd 2015 , I stalled in the street on rt 9 and it would not start at all to the point I had to call a tow truck then once the tow truck dropped it at my house it started but all the lights were lit up on dash ,if I was able to post pictures and videos on here I would because I video the dash every time it does it and I plan to show Dodge the videos on the 9th , Dodge needs to resolve this issue.
