Ignition Problems of Dodge Durango - part 2

Motor, ignition, tie rods, brakes. Heater/air have had hardly no heat or a/c for the last 4 years. . Have replaced everything from fan, blower, cooling, water pump, heater core etc. Still back in the shop on 12-28-04 got back today 01-01-05 and still no heat don't know what is wrong with it.

Vehicle accelerates/ motor makes a knocking sound. Dealer replaced sparks, it caused vehicle to loose horse power and fuel economy. A new intake gasket was put in, and the computer was scanned to add a new code for more fuel. Problem was not solved.

Engine knocks under load continuously and uses excessive oil. Dealer has told me it is due to faulty computer but it has been 2 years and no fix as of yet. Wisconsin lemon laws say I needed to bring the vehicle back 3 times in one year to declare it a lemon unfortunately I believed diamler Chrysler was going to fix it. Diamler Chrysler contacted and offered no resolution.

Intake manifold resealed, intake & plenum gasket replaced, intake & pan & o-ring replaced, intake resealed & pcv valve replaced, manifold & intake replaced, rod bearings & valve guide seals & #4 spark plug & intake replaced. Purchased as trade-in at Ford dealer 21504 miles. Problems began 2-3 wks after purchase. Previous/original owner had similar service performed (TSB performed 4/05/99). Problem is not resolved. Warranty has expired. Dealership refuses to repair as pre-existing problem under warranty or at their cost. Dealership never determined exact cause of problem.

Repeatly since we have had the car we have had engine noises and failure to advance gear when driving. One of the more frightening incidents was when driving on the highway the engine lost power at 65+ . I last evening after just getting it back from the dealer my husband had it out with my son and it stalled again on him. I refuse to drive it to get my kids in college for fear of an accident somehow that does not seem right. I have a claim #7286397. Please help. Pat ryan.

Consumer was unable to start vehicle because key was stuck in the lock position in the ignition. The vehicle was towed.
