1 Engine Rattling And Whining Sounds problem

Failure Date: 09/28/2005

My engine has sludge build up. My ex-husband and my 2 mechanics have all taken classes offered by Dodge because of the defects in their 2. 7l engine. They were told by a Chrysler instructor during a training class for 5 star mechanics/dealerships that Chrysler has identified 8 items needing upgrades in regards to the 2. 7l engine and that the engine was faulty from the manufacturer. I have lifetime oil changes with the dealership that I bought my car from. I take it in regular according to my owner's manual. Two days before I parked it (one week after my routine oil change) my car had a rattling sound from under the hood. I took it to my mechanic, he told me the above information. I went to my other mechanic and my ex-husband and all agreed with the above information.

2 Engine Rattling And Whining Sounds problem

While driving to work,I noticed the engine was making rattling noise. There was no oil indicator light on or engine light on. I took the car in to 3 separate mechanics and was informed by all 3 that the car needed a new engine. They all said that there was sludge in the engine. I took this car in as recommended every 3000 miles for an oil change. This car is barely at 62000 miles and there is no way this should have happened. I was informed it would cost me a bare minimum of $4000. 00 to get the car running. I called the corporate office of daimler Chrysler and they insisted they had not heard of a problem with these engines.

Failure Date: 05/22/2003

I have a 2000 Dodge Intrepid with 52000 miles. I recently this car has been staling, sometimes on a freeway. It has also been driving rough. When I took it into a Dodge dealership, I was told they need to place a rail on a chain to prevent a rattling noise. $400 was the quote. I told them to start work on it. Later they called and told me there was sludge on the motor and it must be replaced. $7000!!! they also told me they can not put the motor back in. That it would not start. They (oakland Dodge in madison hts, mi) also told me that I have not been changing my oil regularly. This is a false accusation, however I do not have oil change receipts. I have also changed my own oil several times. I am now stuck with a rental car until I can afford $7000.
