1 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2019 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 07/31/2024

Transmission is slipping, would not accelerate when applying gas. Shifting up and down while driving. But the most important issue that I think is a severe safety issue. When attempting to brake the vehicle transmission will not disengage. You have to press the vehicle brakes extremely hard to and maintain the pressure to stop the vehicle. It is lucky that I just change the rotors and brakes two weeks ago.

3 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2014 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 02/20/2021

My 2014 Ford Escape titanium's transmission stopped working. My car was in park on the side of the road and when I put it in drive, my transmission slipped and would not move forward. I had to get my car towed and two mechanics said the transmission is done. My car has 80,000 miles and was well taken car of.

4 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2019 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 12/29/2020

2019 Ford Escape titanium steering wheel shakes/vibrates heavy & makes a loud noise from car (almost sounds like a bad loud muffler sound) at speeds of 35 mph & 45mph when the gas peddle is leveled at speed and also does the same when going up an incline at the same speeds. Also transmission slips between 1 & 2 gears intermittently. Very bumpy ride in the back when going 70 mph on the highway. These issues happen when on local roads & highway ramps. Dealer repair has checked several times. First few times they could not replicate the issue. December 29, 2020 finally got the issue to replicate and put a ticket directly into Ford. I checked back on 1/7/2021 since I bare the heard from the dealer service rep. At that time she still didn't have an answer to a resolution to fix the fault. I called today 1/13/2021 and the dealer repair service rep said it was a characteristic of the model because they informed Ford on the ticket they tested another 2019 Escape with the same engine & transmission and it had the same fault. Car was manufactured 3/2019. Please note I have purchased brand new Ford Escapes in 2002, 2005, 2009, 2017 & 2019. I know how the engine & transmission of a Ford Escape should preform. I still have my 2009 Escape and it preforms better then this 2019. . . Comparable engines & trim package. The faults this 2019 is having are not characteristics of a car they are clearly issues where parts need to be replaced or repaired to operate properly. Ford needs to do the right thing and find what is causing the issue and repair it correctly.

5 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2016 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 10/18/2020

6 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2017 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 09/21/2020

While driving my 2017 Ford Escape on a town street at a rate of 35 mph my transmission began slipping. A warning light came on stating alert transmission fault service now. I took it to a mechanic immediately and was told that my transmission has failed and I will need to have a new one at a cost between $4000 to $5000. My vehicle has $92,000. 00 miles. Ford is unwilling to help with the cost of this repair. I talked with a chris avery (cavery@Ford. Com) he said there is not a recall on their transmissions. How does a three year old vehicle have a transmission go out?.

8 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2015 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 03/29/2020

Without any warning (no gear slippage, no grinding, no difficulty shifting into gear, no seal leaks, no rough gear changes, no bucking, no loss of power, no check engine light) the transmission in my 2015 Ford Escape ES (1. 6l ecoboost) failed completely at 103,250 miles while driving on a highway, causing the sudden inability to accelerate, rapid deceleration and throwing the vehicle into neutral while in traffic. The transmission fault service warning did not illuminate until much later. The vehicle was purchased as a Ford cpo (Ford certified pre-owned) with an extended warranty up to 100,000 miles and regular on-time maintenance completed. The entire transmission needed to be replaced. Full transmission failure for this year, make and model is listed in Ford's technical service bulletins as a know issue, and when contacted, Ford motor company denies any knowledge of faulty transmissions in the 2015.

9 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2015 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 03/18/2020

Driving my 2015 Ford Escape 1. 6 turbo on interstate, started to feel like transmission was slipping but a few days later the check engine light came on code p26b7 at dealer (code p0012 at o'reilly auto parts). O'reilly says it was a generic code for "cam shaft sensor" but Ford says the code p26b7 is coolant bypass valve c needs replaced costing about $500. I noticed there are a ton of other complaints on this same 2015 Escape and even a recall for this problem on the 2014 Ford Escape 1. 6 turbo. Obviously there needs to be a recall on the 2015 as well! also Ford dealer mike murphy Ford in morton IL says my transmission is fine though I don't feel like it is.

14 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2016 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 07/22/2019

My Escape has exactly 88,000 miles in it . I was driving home from work and my transmission started slipping. I was driving 50 mph and then it dropped to 10mph jerking me hard. Then it reved up on its own and started going like 60 mph. I was at a stop light with my foot on the brake and it was going in reverse there was no previous indication that anything was wrong I cannot believe I wasn't in an accident or caused one. The jerking of the car was so hard I was afraid the air bags would deploy. My three year old Ford is receiving a new transmission that is not covered.

16 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2019 Ford Escape

At 10,000 miles my Escape transmission began slipping. It takes forever for it to shift but no transmission light comes on. My gas mileage has also gone way down as a result of this. Ford claims it's fine. But it does it often. Also when the engine stop is engaged at stop lights, it doesn't always start back up and I have to put the car in park and restart the vehicle.

17 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2017 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 06/16/2019

Very similar to NHTSA id 11083629. Pulling into traffic the transmission started to slip. Managed to get off the road without incident. The system message "transmission fault service now" came up and the car would not accelerate beyond 20 mph. I was traveling so it was towed to nearest dealership. They cleared the fault and sid there was nothing wrong. Took it to dealership where I bought it, they had it two weeks and said they couldn't find/replicate the issue and gave it back. I drove it two days and it occured again. Drove it to the dealer this way. They said it was a bad ecm, replaced it and they replcated the issue on their test drive after the "repair". Said they need to call Ford for tech assistance. They have had my car for ~month and a half. This is a safety issue, the transmission randomly failing as you're pulling into traffic is a huge danger.

131,000 miles transmission started slipping and as of 7/15/2018 transmission is gone this seems to be very common with the 1. 6 liter engine I had taken it in when it started to slip and Ford dealer ship started they could not find anything wrong with it until warranty was up and transmission is completely out now I'm stuck with a loan and a vehicle I cannot drive very disappointed with Ford I wish I would have known they changed the motor and tranny 3 times in 2013 very dissatisfied should be a recall on these transmissions.

23 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2008 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 04/12/2017

On my way to work today, my car starts to slow down when I try to accelerate. The car eventually jerks forward and starts to go faster after the rpm goes up to 4. I thought it was the transmission slipping until I see the wrench shaped light come on. I turn around, put my flashers on since it's happening off and on and immediately take it home because I don't want to get stuck this far away from home. When I get home, I check to see what the wrench light means and find out it's a throttle body issue that for some reason there is no recall for even though it's an on-going issue.

Two days ago, I was driving on the highway and suddenly, my gears started slipping. I was driving 45 mph and then my car decelerated to the point where I could no longer accelerate. This made it very difficult to get back home and I feared that I would be at risk for a crash. Immediately the next morning, I brought my car to a Ford dealer and they diagnosed the problem to be with the transmission. My options were to fix one band or the entire transmission. Upon doing research about this issue, I found that many other Ford customers had experienced the same problems with their 2008 Ford Escape's transmission.

31 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2010 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 09/29/2013

While driving at approximately 30 mph, vehicle jerked (as though the transmission slipped real hard) and then lost power. I managed to coast for about 25 yards to get off the main road. A "yellow wrench" and the check engine light appeared on the console. Shut engine off, waited a minute and restarted. Proceeded on road for approximately 1 1/2 miles reaching speed of approximately 55 mph. Vehicle jerked again and no power. Once again, I managed to coast about 50 feet to get off of the main road. Same lights appeared on the console. Shut off engine. Restarted. Drove 2 miles back to house, the vehicle had minimal power and was sputtering the whole way. The next morning, tried to take vehicle to dealership. Started vehicle, drove across the street, again no power. Called dealership, they arranged to have it towed to a neighboring dealership because they would not be able to get to even look at it for about two weeks. Error message on vehicle according to dealership was p2112. Unable to repair at this time due back order of part. Had there been anyone behind me on the first two occasions or someone coming in the opposite direction while trying to cross road, surely I would have been hit. Fortunately, I was not on the interstate when this occurred or the potential for harm would have been high! this is poses an unsafe situation!!! I purchased this certified vehicle only four months ago, with 50,271 miles on it. I am not certain if I will feel confident driving this vehicle again. The dealership wants to reassure that the replacement part will fix the situation, but I have my doubts for a long term resolution.
