1999 Ford F-250 with transmission problems. Consumer had this problem repaired. She was then informed that there was a TSB that she never knew about. Ford is refusing to reimburse her for the repairs. The consumer stated the manufacturer was fully aware of the transmission problem, but failed to notify their customers. The problem was the fluid would overheat during severe duty and wear out the torque converter, which resulted in the radiator, cooler lines and hoses for the transmission to be replaced. The stabilizer bar link and battery were replaced.

The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-250 superduty. While driving 20 mph, the vehicle shut off in the middle of the road. Both the power steering and brakes failed without warning. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and they kept it for three weeks; however, it still hesitates slightly while in operation. Letter from congressman smith's office on behalf of constituent regarding ongoing issues with his 2004 f250 vehicle the consumer stated the vehicle was running rough, there was a severe rattle in the doors, black smoke emitted from the vehicle, the front end was loose, the battery was replaced twice, there was a problem with the steering, transmission and electrical system, the engine light illuminated and ultimately the engine was replaced because it blew a hole through one of the cylinders. While driving consumer heard a popping sound due to loosening of engine power. Vehicle was towed to dealership, and technician determined that spark plug blew out.
