2 Brakes Failed problem of the 2017 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 06/30/2017

Trailer brake controller the factory trailer brake controller is not working properly when a trailer with electric service brakes is properly connected to the truck. The controller has about a 30 second delay and does not push enough electricity to the trailer brakes to engage them fully. This results in longer stopping distance for the truck and trailer combination, possible brake failure for the truck due to overloading of the brakes which, could result in an accident. I have had my trailer brakes checked by a professional. They are performing as they are designed to. I have contacted my Ford dealer and he assures me that my factory controller is working as it should. I do not believe them. I still have a trailer that is not getting enough electricity to apply the brakes.

7 Brakes Failed problem of the 1995 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 12/20/2014

I replaced the rear brakes on my 1995 Ford f250. I put on new duralast brake shoes (part #358) from autozone. Afterwords, the emergency/parking brake failed. I took everything apart and took a while before I found the problem. At the top of the brake shoes there is a half circle where the front and back shoe meets and that is where the emergency/parking brake cam pushes the shoes apart. The oem shoes have a tall shoulder at the very tip top where the cam pushes against the rear shoe, the duralast shoe has a shorter shoulder and allowed the cam to slip over the top of the rear shoe causing the unexpected emergency/parking brake failure.

8 Brakes Failed problem of the 2011 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 08/09/2014

We had just purchased this truck the day before with 19,000 miles on it and while towing a fifth wheel RV the in-dash oem trailer brake controller failed to engage trailer brakes allowing the RV to push the truck into an intersection. I've been to the dealer three times now and they cannot figure out why the trailer brake controller will not work. They have performed a "pin-test" and determined the in dash brake controller was not working so they replaced it to find the trailer brakes still do not activate when applying the brakes. It will work when manually activated with the slider however there is no trailer brake activation when the brake pedal is applied. The dealer acknowledges there is a problem but cannot figure it out. I've spent three days at the dealer thus far and im scheduled to return at 7 am tomorrow for them to work on it more. This is a serious safety issue and could cause a major accident if the truck does not safely stop towing a heavy RV. We traded an f150 for this f250 super duty for the added towing capacity however we now do not feel safe towing anything.

9 Brakes Failed problem of the 2006 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 08/22/2013

Driving down the highway and hit a bump in the road the truck started to do the death wobble and shaking uncontrollably. I have to slow down and jerk the wheel to get it to stop. Its increasingly getting worse and now doing it at lower speeds around 25- 30mph. This has almost caused wrecks with vehicles rear ending me, or wobbling in their direction. It also happened in a neighborhood with children playing, I thought I was going to hit the kids! the brakes also fail while beaking and hitting a bump. The tires are at the recommended pressure and that is not the problem. This is a very common problem as I have seen while doing more research. Im afraid this will eventually cause the truck to roll or wreck. Dont let the loss of life open this investigation again.

Brake issue- have had disk's on the front surfaced once in 20k miles and is in need to resurface again. I have a 3/4 ton pickup, diesel and feel the rotors are not vented to reduce the (heat) build up sufficiently. I feel this is a engineering problem that should be remedied.
