Tl the contact owns a 2014 Ford fusion. The contact stated that the dual clutch transmission fluid leaked into the dry casing of the transmission. The contact stated that the vehicle vibrated abnormally while driving while the vehicle shifted gears with an audible sound. The vehicle was taken to flow Acura (425 silas creek pkwy, winston-salem, nc 27127, (336) 723-3524) where the transmission casing and seals were replaced however, the failure persisted. Here is another picture. This is the electrical connection to the washer fluid pump. Fluid leaks out of the electrical connections to the pump and gets pushed through the wiring loom and the fluid leaks onto the body control module causing corrosion and failure of the bcm.

3 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem

Failure Date: 11/25/2016

Transmission began shuddering during take-off and while driving. Basically, the clutches are slipping causing the car to shudder, or in some cases not move at all, even though in gear. After researching, learned about a massive issue that Ford was aware of, but someone my vehicle falls just outside of extended warranty issued by Ford, even though every transmission of this model is defective with a manufacturing defect. Paid $1400 for clutch pack repair. Had same repair done, under service warranty 10,000 miles and exactly 1 year later. Had same repair done another year later, except no longer under repair warranty, so had to pay another $1400. According to Ford service technicians, this issue really is not fixable. They can only replace parts, which is a band-aid until the exact same issue happens again, which is fluid leakingg past seals and ruining the clutches. Unfixable, only temp patch. So, even though Ford knew this transmission had an issue before the put it into production, I now have to pay $1400 every two years forever, to continue repairing their flaw, have a vehicle with decreased trade value that I can't get rid of. These cars are entry level. The owners of these vehicles can't afford to fund Ford's corporate greed. How dare them look the other way and not take responsibility for design flaws that their own engineers warned them about. The extended warranty only applied to a small subset of the affected vehicles. The previous class action lawsuit was a joke that only provides relief after many thousands are spent on repairs. Basically the law firm got rich and the affected consumer got a jelly-of-the-month club certificate.

4 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem

Failure Date: 06/10/2016

Every time I drive this car the transmission jerks and slips dangerously. Their are numerous complaints about this issue. Ford dealer says it is supposed to be that way. I have a friend at Ford who tells me it is due to trans. Fluid leaking onto clutch causing it to slip. No one is supposed to know about this. Nhtsa really needs to make Ford do a recall and fix this. It is dangerous due to the vehicle will just stop pulling and is very jerky.

5 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem

Failure Date: 01/26/2015

Vehicle has had a red fluid leak for quite some time. The car has been back to the dealership for this issue many times and currently filing lemon law arbitration. The car has been out of commission for 55 days altogether since it's purchase in January this year due to the fluid leak which seems to be more of coolant than anything else. It is burning oil and or losing it somewhere that isn't visible. It also has had electrical problems with starting as well as the radio clock and presets all resetting after sitting for more than 24 hours. I have had to have the sunroof resales after it had leaked for over two months and the dealership wasn't able to find the leak. The front end makes horrible noises when decelerating. It grinds and whines as if something is about to blow up. I've taken it into the dealer for all of these concerns and only one of them has been resolved fully. I'm very disappointed in my purchase.

6 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem

Failure Date: 09/15/2014

Ford Focus began leaking fluids due to a main seal issue. Automatic clutch/transmission shutters, jerks, vibrates and lurches at low speeds or on hills.

7 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem

Failure Date: 07/10/2014

The transmission in the vehicle jolts, jerks, shudders, slips and becomes very hesitant in stop and go traffic and in normal driving conditions. The jolting and slipping almost caused me to rear end another vehicle while in stop and go traffic. The vehicle was at the servicing dealership one week ago regarding the transmission, which found a leak of fluid to the "dry clutch. " I believe the design flaw that causes the leak of fluid to be serious enough to possibly cause great bodily harm and/or death. The vehicle does not have consistent or predictable acceleration due to shuddering and slipping, rendering the vehicle uncontrollable at times. The known symptoms, cited in TSB #14-0047, raise substantial concerns for operating the vehicle in a safe manner on public roadways.
