When I am at a complete stop and I attempt to accelerate, my Ford jerks rapidly. In order to drive the vehicle I have to press on the gas forcibly in order to accelerate to a normal speed limit. After several attempts to complain to the orginal dealership metro Ford on noland road of the issue I was told that it was a shudder transmission problem. The Ford dealership will not solve the issue and although they stated they reset the issue they try to convince me that it is normal when in fact it is not. This vehicle is an extreme hazard and unsafe to drive for me and my children. I am afraid it will stall at a busy intersection in the future.
Transmission started shuddering not long after purchase. Ford acted like they did not know about these problems even thought we now find that they have been well documented for years. Multiple trips to 2 dealerships have not fixed problem. The shuddering takes place while in motion, sometimes driving straight, often when turning. Longer trips or hilly terrain exasperate problem. Driving in winter conditions ( snow, ice)makes it difficult to tell if it is the tires or transmission that is slipping. Very dangerous defect. Drivers and passengers feel very unsafe in this vehicle. Wondering why NHTSA is so slow in dealing with this problem.
Transmission shudders, slips and has uneven acceleration when the vehicle is in motion at speeds between 10mph to 50 mph.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. While driving 35 mph, there was an abnormal noise coming from the steering wheel. The contact lost power steering and the vehicle crashed into a guardrail. A police report was not filed. The contact stated that the front passenger side fender to the rear quarter panel was severely damaged. Additionally, the transmission began to shudder. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to hagerstown Ford (1714 massey blvd, hagerstown, MD 21740, (301) 733-3673) where it was diagnosed that the clutch needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the clutch was replaced for the second time. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v514000 (steering). The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 9,999.
The transmissions in my 2014 Ford Focus has never operated properly. I purchased the car new from mahwah Ford in October 2014. The transmission slips and shudders when trying to accelerate in first gear. It behaves as if someone just learning to operate a manual transmission vehicle is behind the wheel. This makes is very dangerous trying to accelerate from a stop when entering a roadway. I have brought the car to the dealership on many occasions, but was told this behavior is normal for the vehicle. My other family members will not drive the vehicle, because they do not feel safe doing so. Twice the dealerships said they applied software updates to the vehicle, but that did nothing. I do not feel safe in this car, but due to financial considerations, I am not able to purchase a replacement. Please help get these unsafe vehicles off the road.
I filed a complaint last month on 9/17/14 #10637121 about the transmission grinding, lurching forward and shifting poorly. I took it to the dealer and they "reset the transmission" and I was advised to drive the car nice and was handed a paper on the transmission on the Focus. On 10/26/14 (9606 miles), I had a major coolant leak and had to have my vehicle towed to the dealer for service the next day. While there I also asked them to look at the transmission again. I was argued with and handed a paper on the dual clutch manual transmission and what to listen for. I explained that what I was noticing (grinding, lurching and hitting the gas and the car not going) was not normal and was advised that they would "look" at the transmission but with them resetting it, there was probably nothing they can do. After a day and a half of misdiagnosis of what was wrong with my car, I was advised that my heating core was leaking and told that my transmission was fine (no leaks). I spoke to the service manager and insisted that there was an issue with the transmission. He agreed to test drive it and called awhile later and said that they had hooked it up to a machine to test the vibrations in the engine and that my Focus engine vibrations far exceeded the normal and they would be approved by Ford to replace the transmission. I just got my car back today and on the service order they 1) replaced the heating core and 2) replaced the clutch assembly. When they took apart the old clutch, they found shards of clutch in the bell-housing and metallic flakes. So for nothing being wrong, shards of clutch sound serious to me!! my car is only 7 months old (one road trip to north carolina) and it has lost value and I worry about future clutch issues. The 2014 Ford Focus still only has a standard warranty on the transmission/clutch.
Severe transmission shudder when applying gas after stopping. It has been diagnosed that it needs a new clutch. I am first owner of car and this clutch has been replaced before. This is a bad purchase that Ford should either exchange or refund for.
My 2014 Ford Focus began shuddering almost immediately after I bought it, which was may 2014. I took it to my Ford dealer to explain. I was told it wasn't a problem and I should continue driving it. The shuddering continued. It normally happens when pulling out from a stopped or near stopped position, on flat and inclined surfaces. I took it back to the Ford dealer once again. They said they adjusted a few things and I would be fine. Took it back a 3rd time and they said they had to order a new clutch. Scheduled an appointment to have that done. It worked fine for a few months, but I was back at the dealer multiple times with the shuddering and transmission/clutch issue. It has been replaced twice in my 2014 Ford Focus. I went back again to complain of same issue, I was told my warranty ran out and they could only replace clutch if I paid for it!!! I still drive it daily, with the shuddering. Worried at every stop, I hope the car doesn't stall, speed up or cause an accident!!! it occurs on city streets, ramps onto highways, at traffic lights, stop signs and yields. Car is usually going from stopped or slow speed going straight or turning. Please help me!!!.
Vehicle shudders upon starting forward movement or when slowing or stoping and then restarting forward movement. Downshifting into lower gear and then accelerating produces a shudder, severe loss of power, must accelerate heavily or vehicle continues to shake and shimmy while not accelerating. Feels as if the engine/transmission is going to shake out of the automobile.
2014 Ford Focus. Consumer writes in regards to automatic transmission shudders on acceleration and clutch has kicked out of gear into neutral. The consumer stated the transmission has been a problem since the first day, the vehicle was purchased. The transmission was reprogrammed a couple of times, but to no avail. The dealer then stated the clutch was bad. However, the parts were not available.
The vehicle regularly shudders when accelerating from a dead stop and hesitates when accelerating from a low speed roll. Less frequently the transmission seems to lag and then lunge when the accelerator is applied while the vehicle is decelerating and the transmission is downshifting. The dealer representative indicated the problems are common for which there is no corrective action. The dealer explained that the vehicle has the most current transmission software update. When the complaint was brought to the attention of Ford, through a phone number provided by the dealer, the existence of a known problem was denied by Ford. During the complaint investigation the dealer representative denied stating that there is a known issue. The shuddering and hesitation characteristics present a safety issue when quick acceleration is required. The herky jerky nature of the shuddering and transmission shifting cause concern that, in the future, the parts in the transmission will wear and fail prematurely.
For a couple of months now, when I drive at slower speeds (usually 15-25 mph) the transmission appears to grind when changing gears. From what I've read, Ford is claiming this is slipping of the transmission and is "normal" for the car. Brand new cars should not make noises like this. Glad I purchased an extended warranty from my credit union. Also, the passenger side window does not close as quickly as the other windows.
My 2014 Ford Focus has many transmission issues from grinding gears, hesitant transmission, non-working ac from time to time (more often it does not work then works). The vehicle tends to not shit or engage the transmission when turning corners and then applying the gas peddle to move forward, in stop and go traffic the vehicle shakes and makes grinding noises when shifting (automatic transmission), on days that are hot the ac tends to never work - when driving 30 miles back and forth from work to home it almost never becomes cool and only puts out hot air. I have taken my vehicle into Ford 5 or 6 times now, this last time I was just informed (about 20 minutes ago) that nothing is wrong with the vehicle that it operates under Fords guidelines and that the tech's found nothing wrong with the car. When I left fremont today before I took it into Ford it had the same issues, grinding, shaking when stop and go and the ac did not work. And now, less then 4 hours of being in the shop they called me saying nothing is wrong and I know for a fact that it is. I have all documentation on my vehicle from the dealer from the first time it went into the shop. Ford corp who I have been dealing with (will not give her info until you request due to above disclosure) has told me that basically it operates under their guidelines so nothing is wrong. I am asking for help - something is wrong with this brand new car and Ford is failing to address any and all issues.
O5-08-14 I purchased a brand new 2014 Ford Focus with 49 miles on it. Within 500 miles I complained of a shudder in the transmission (transmission: slipping, jumping, hesitating, slow to engage, safety hazard, faulty clutch, mostly on take off, etc )at 5900 miles I took it in for a service and asked about this. I was told this was “normal” it’s the new dual clutch transmission aka dct . If this was normal then why did it get excessively worse as I added miles? so I believed them and continued to drive until later it continued to worsen and be more noticable. 6-18-15 Ford replaced the clutch and it continued the same problem within 500 miles.
My transmission shudders, does not shift properly, hesitates to go, and jerks while shifting. I took it to mt dealership and they said that this is within the specs of Fords recent repair to the transmission which was recalled. I have taken my car to the dealership several times for this issue and have gotten nowhere! this issue started in April of 2014 and has continued even after the recall repair.
Transmission grinds and shudders starting from 0 mph, into second gear, and also sometimes into third gear. This is not a safe transmission. . The problem is only getting worse, and I can't imagine what the transmission will feel and sound like at 2,000 miles. .
When moving from a complete stop or rolling slowly the car shakes, makes grinding noises; vehicle hesitates and vibrates also the transmission does not shifting properly. I am worried when I try to merge onto a highway from a side road, what is this car going to do. Is it going to throw its fit and hesitate and shake or is it going to move somewhat smoothly. I never know how the car will act. I do not believe this is very safe that this car hesitates. Moving from a stop sign or stoplight okay (irritating) but trying to merge out into traffic not so well (deadly even). Ford says it’s within specs and okay both at their dealership and Ford customer service. Ford customer service says it’s normal to have some hesitation and shaking to me doesn’t seem right. The dealership says it an ongoing problem Ford won’t deal with. I can’t even get rid of my car as I try to trade it in and I get laughed at by other dealers. What can be done?.
When I accelerate the car shakes because the transmission does not want to shift. I understand it is a duel clutch system but it shouldn't shake the whole care and hesitate to shift. I have taken the car back numerous times and they said they fixed the problem but a day later the problem comes back. Now there is a grinding noise I hear all the time when I'm driving. I also filed a lemon law and they said it does not meet the lemon law standards according to my state. I'm going to take it in again for the fourth time so they can "fix" the problem and if they don't then I'll file another lemon law!!!.
Transmission constantly shudders and grinds. Tries to shift gears when in cruise control. Engine tried to stall. Very loud metallic noise. Returned car to dealership in February and was told it was all normal. Second time I was given a piece of paper explaining "normal" noises. None of which my car was making. Third time they re-programmed the transmission. Car is being taken back to dealership for same problems this Wednesday. Ford has known of these dangerous problems since the 2011. Yet they continue to knowingly sell dangerous cars. And no one does anything.
Upon launch of vehicle, the dps6 transmission shudders violently leaving me and my occupants prone to danger. The car is undrivable for the 1st 3 seconds you apply the gas. This issue, even after their initial "fix" has done this from mile #01. 90,000 miles, 5 years, safety of everyone driving these vehicles is compromised daily.
Transmission jerks and grinds at 2200rpm in first gear, grinding noise while going up hills, transmission shakes and jerks when shifting from first to second, very rough and unpredictable shifts, shifts into higher gears way to soon then will downshift or go into neutral, hesitation and vibration from launch, transmission slips at random and will not downshift , transmission surges under acceleration . . . . Steering seems to have a mind of it's own when turning on to street the steering wheel wants to stay in whatever position you have it turned and is very hard to keep straight on highway. . Rattling noise like something is loose coming from front passenger area when going over bumps or while sitting at idle it can be heard has been to the shop three time s for rattling noise and it is still not fixed and has been in the shop for the transmission four times and every time they tell me the don't experience it or it's just the way it is or that I am driving the car wrong. . . I have a wife and a three year old and I am terrified for then to be in the car.
Transmission shudders upon acceleration. On numerous occasions the car has almost stalled out almost causing us to be rear ended. I have taken the car to the dealer, the first time they replaced the clutch assembly. 2nd time they had to reprogram the part that was replaced. Car is currently in the shop awaiting outcome this time. Very upsetting considering this is supposed to be a reputable company that has been around for many years. I am very disappointed and I hope they do recall on these transmissions.
