Tl the contact owns a 2016 Ford Mustang. While driving, the vehicle lost electrical power and the engine stalled. On another occasion, the contact could not open the door to exit the vehicle. When the vehicle was started, the contact was able to open the door and exit the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to carmody Ford (1111 NY-29, greenwich, NY 12834, (518) 692-2246), but the failures could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was 20,000. The VIN was unknown.
2018 Mustang gt with manual transmission. Engine stalls when shifting into neutral (manual trans) at higher engine speeds. For example, coming up to a red light (was traveling approx 50mph) or while exiting the freeway (was traveling 65mph and then was turning around an off-ramp). Has occured at any driving speed (if revving engine at full stop, or while traveling). Stalling does not occur if the transmission remains engaged while slowing down. If I shift to neutral when the engine is near it's normal idle speed (500 rpm after warm-up), it will not stall. The problem only occurs when shifting to neutral above ~2,000 rpm, and only after the engine is warmed up. The problem was present from the time the vehicle was brand new. At 1500 miles I returned to the dealer and was able to successfully reproduce the issue together with the service advisor. In some instances, the engine speed will drop below idle speed and then will recover and not stall. I made a recording of the can bus to try to diagnose the issue on my own, which is available upon request. It seems that the engine controller is requesting more torque from the engine when the speed drops, but the throttle will not respond to the request and the engine will stall. No dtcs or warning lights were given to indicate that there was an issue. No modifications were made to the car, and is in completely 'stock' condition.

Car in motion; on 10/09/2017 - I was driving 80 mph (which is the legal speed limit), on major texas highway 130 toll road, engine stalled, car hard to control, difficult to pull off the road to safety. Attempted to restart car several times, after 7 or 8 times it finally started. It had a rough idle, and continued to stall out 6 more times for the remaining 30 miles until I reached my home. There are no stores, or safe places to pull off of the road on this toll road, and it is a very long stretch of highway to be left stranded on. I've contacted Ford service and they said there is nothing they can do, my car is a 2016 Mustang which I bought brand new. . .
I was going to work around 15:45 when I had to accelarate on a mountain while I was on the fifth gear. I gave enough gaz but the engine did not want to respond. After arriving at the top of the mountain, not being able to accelerate on the 5th gear, I downshifted to the 4th gear. Same result the engine did not respond. The engine then stalled, battery light came up, oil and engine light came up after. The road was turning radically so I told myself I will try to stop after the curve so I wont be dangerous to other cars in the curve. Problem is, steering box failed to fonction and I almost crashed in a light post. Even with my two hands forcing on the steering wheel it was very difficult to turn. I called Ford road assistance for a towing. It took around 40 minutes for it to arrive. For a 12th February in qubec, it is long and cold to wait in a car 40 minutes with no heating. Two days later Ford called me to tell me oil smelled gaz and sparked plugs were finished, for then telling me the engine is done due to a piston. Because of a modification on the engine (a supercharge) I am aware the warranty will probably not cover the engine, but this seems to not explain why the steering box failed in which I almost did an accident.
Engine stalls during idle at stop signs and stop lights and also stalls during initial acceleration under 10 mph. This has happened at least 25 times over the past year. There are no fault indications on the dash. I place sifter back in "park" and engine restarts until the next time it stalls. There is no prior indication of any kind that the engine is about to stall. The engine simply shuts off. Have taken the car to the dealer to determine the cause twice. They cannot determine the cause so make no attempt to do any component replacements. I contacted Ford motor customer relations and they started a case file on this, cas-12064085. I have expressed my concern over and over again that my car may stall at the wrong place at the wrong time and possibly cause a collision. Both the dealer and Ford motor company seemed "totally" disinterested. All they say is "sorry we cannot help you".

I purchased a new 2003 Ford Mustang cobra on christmas eve 2002. Around 2000 miles, I began to notice that the car was having problems with the drivability. I thought that it may be a little quirk that would work itself out during the break-in period. Needless to say, it hasn't. The first problem began with the engine running roughly. I took the vehicle in and had it inspected at 6,000 miles. The engine began stalling during deceleration and also had power cutting off during take off. This has been a daily occurrance since that time. The car now has 15,000 miles on it and has had several other problems. This recurring problem has had the car in the shop six different times with six failures to correct the problem. The car had the transmission replaced at 12,000 miles. The air conditioning is now cycling where it blows no cold air for short periods of time. The adhesive seal for the spoiler is coming loose and the rear bumper cover is warping as have previous Mustangs I have owned. The drivability concern is a hazard to say the least. I have had no fewer than a dozen different occasions where I narrowly escaped a major collision due to the engine bogging down. The vehicle has been in Ford's repair facility for more than 4 cummulative weeks for repairs. It is going back in again very soon. I went through Ford's arbitration board which was an absolute joke and waste of my time. The board cited that "drivability concerns still exist, however Ford has not been granted sufficient time to diagnose the problem". Each time it has been in, I have said, I don't want the car back until it is corrected. Ford also tries to claim that vehicle was only in for service three time according to the report, despite the fact that I have several work orders that say otherwise. I would like anyone who has had or still does have a similar issue to contact me. This car is a lemon, that Ford does not want to correct.
E failed to start on several occasions; vehicle could only be operated with foot on the gas pedal at all times to allow fuel to vehicle air flow; vehicle almost uncontrollable coming to a stop at red light when engine stalled; vehicle would not continue idling on a cold start. Per dealer, the iac valve needs replacing. . . Expected on Ford automobiles(mustangs and explorers, specifically). 2000 Mustang gt owners need a recall on this situation before someone is killed with a vehicle that can not be controlled when the hydraulics fail because of a stalled engine. I live in a large metro area with a high percentage of fast drivers.

My 2003 Ford Mustang svt cobra coupe has an engine stalling issue. The engine can stall after following these sequences in order while operating the vehicle in motion. First I release my right foot fully from the gas pedal, then press it onto the brake pedal, and while holding on the brake pedal I also then with my left foot depress clutch pedal down fully, the car may then stall, but it does not always do so. Stalling can occur when these sequences in order are followed while operating the vehicle in motion. If driving into an intersection, this can pose risk due to lost vehicle power steering and power brake systems if the engine has stalled. The power brakes on my 2003 Ford Mustang svt cobra are boosted by the power steering system's pump which is driven by the rotating engine, the brakes on my 2003 Ford Mustang svt cobra are not power assisted by the engine's intake vacuum which is very common with domestic vehicles. With a vacuum power assist design, power assist can still be available to the brake pedal even though the engine has just stalled. On the other hand, when the engine driven power steering pump stops turning when the engine stops turning (ie has stalled) on my 2003 Ford Mustang svt cobra, power assist to the driver to push onto the brake pedal is lost and therefore the force needed to push down onto the brake pedal in order to slow the car is significantly more. This can be a problem for those who do not have the ability to exert enough force onto the brake pedal to stop the car in a timely manner for the circumstances needed in an intersection, should the engine stall. Also, of course, the power steering assist to the driver in order to easily turn the steering wheel is lost. Ford should figure out why the engine stalls while the car's in motion during these conditions and put forward an effort to fix it. Thank you. Joe.

Consumer states engine stalls without warning while driving resulting in loss of steering and brake functions. Dealer unable to determine cause. Ph.
Engine stalled when applying brakes firmly even though the car was in neutral and the clutch pedal was pushed down. This incident almost caused an accident due to absence of power brakes, power steering, and acceleration.
The problem is the engine stalls. This happens when the engine is warm or cold. It also happens after the clutch has been disengaged after being at speed and the rpms are decreasing to the programmed idle rpm. However, instead of stopping at the idling rpm, the engine rpm dips to low and the engine stalls. I lose power steering and brakes which cause a very dangerous situation. I also noticed that this happens more often if I am going around a turn or turning on the ac (both items require more power from the engine)while disengaging the clutch. In total, this has happened 5 times during the 30500 miles. ****dimsii ivoq entry posted after 12-12-02 cut over to artemis****761876.

Engine stalls when full braking applied at highway speeds, causing sudden loss of power assisted steering and braking. 2 seperate instances. Dealer checked and found nothing noteable, made minor adjustment to throttle settings. 1 week later, second instance occurred, motor dying 3 times. Driver forced to place manual transmission in neutral, depress clutch, and restart motor, which restarted each time, but forced driver to attempt to start car, control car, and stop car simultaniously.
Engine stalled. Entire power would go down. Vehicle will begin to stall without prior warning at any speed. Vehicle has been taken to the dealer on nine different occasions, but omputer did not shown any signs. Dealer has not provided any type of remedy.
Vehicle broke down from engine stalling. Consumer found out through the dealer that there was a manufacturer's recall 99b29. But this vehicle was not included due to VIN. Dealer said it was the timing gasket cover.

Engine knocks under load. Knock disappears at idle and low load. Dealer is replaced engine. . . Engine was not dismantled to determine actual cause. Replacement engine installed also blew last week (9/1/2000) and the dealer is ordering a second replacement. I had to purchase an extended warranty with the first replacement and may have to pay some type of deductible with this subsequent replacement. Looking for repeated incidents with the cobra 4. 6 engine. Just for clarification, the dealer has been more than helpful in attempting to resolve the problem, but the engines being delivered appear to be remanufactured engines.

Engine has constant problem of stalling missfiring, hesitates, loss of power, always in and out of dealership they cannot fix problem. Stalled one time in middle of busy intersection.
Upon rapid deceleration, engine stalls. When this occurs, all power assist features (brakes, steering) are lost. This has happened several times and has been dismissed as "not able to recreate" by the dealership.
When driving the vehicle at any given time and speed the engine will stall out and the power brakes and steering will also cut off. Dealer has seen vehicle about 7 times, and problem can't be duplicated.
Applying brakes the engine will stall and kill suddenly and the power stearing and breaking will not work.
Consumer stated while traveling, the engine stalled. Vehicle is now in its fifth repair. Dealer has been contacted. Please provided any further information.
Engine stall during braking after hard acceleration while in nuetral and pressing the clutch. Dt.
The engine stalls while driving, in traffic, on the freeway, where/whenever. It just cuts out, whether the engine is warm or cold. We have had it to 5 different dealerships to fix the problem and they say there is nothing wrong or they don't know what's wrong.
