2002 Ford Mustang gt (4. 6l v8) blew out # 2 spark plug after 80,000 miles. The dealership put in a helicoil to replace the stripped threads caused from the blow out and replaced the other spark plugs and boots. I was told that Ford does not warrant the helicoil repair and the only way to get a repair that Ford would back would be to replace the head. Replacing the head was a ridiculously expensive option. After researching the problem, I found that there have been numerous complaints about this problem. The fact that this problem has been known to cause a fire and burn a vehicle to the axels in 12 min and no one has done anything about it is absurd. Ford needs to recall and replace the heads with no cost to the consumer.

Took my 2000 Mustang to the dealer to repair a knocking problem I was hearing when the car accelerated. Eventually after 3 visits and talking to 3 service advisors the knocking was heard. They replaced $1300 worth of parts, and said it was fixed. Drove it no more than 10 minutes and took it right back because the knocking was not fixed. They then told me that the motor was something inside the motor. So I had it replaced. Was returned 1 week later due to a problem with it staying running. The problem was identified as a rocker arm that had come loose. The car was returned 2 weeks later for the same knocking issue that was originally reported and no one knew what is wrong with it.

(1)normal driving no racing just normal driving (2)my spark plug stripped out the threads in my head of my 2000 Mustang gt now I need to replace cylinder head or have it helicoiled. The design of the head is at fault in my opinion, there isn't enough threads on the cylinder head to properly hold the spark plug in place. (3) have not been able to repair due to cost.
2002 Ford Mustang v6 with manual transmission. Engine increases rpms even when foot is off the accelerator pedal. This happens in gear and between shifts. Even though vehicle is under warranty, Ford refuses to fix the problem. They say that this is "a normal vehicle characteristic and no further repairs should be performed". The problem is consistent and worsening. I think this is dangerous and Ford should resolve the problem.
Gas pedal stuck under carpet.

I own a 2003 Mustang gt 5-speed. It has died numerous times and after the first time I called the Ford consumer hotline and was brushed off. But they did refer me to a local dealer, the same dealer that less than 10mins after the first failure took my car for a short spin and said that my car was a little low on gas and that was the likely cause. I was driving approx. 35mph and was not on the clutch or accelerating. It just died. This is an extremely dangerous problem and needs to be acknowledged. I finally had a dealer diagnose the problem and they replaced my cars iac valve. My car has still died several times but now its when coming to a stop and its been isolated. I feel that a TSB or recall on this long overdue.

The docks in this engine set up a harmonic vibration between 1800-2300rpm. Ford has determined this is a normal condition for "some" of these engines. To the unsuspecting buyer of this automobile he/she will have to endure a melodic, approx every second, vibration that is transmitted through the car. From what I have read on various bulletin boards this problem was brought to Ford's attention prior to my purchase but they still continue to produce the automobile and now have concluded this is normal. Please look into this for those of us who have been taken advantage off. Sincerely, bill chase.
