The vehicle going through oil like made and stalling in the middle of intersections or pulling onto a road. This has caused other people to almost hit me or go off the road to avoid an accident. I will start out into an intersection get in the middle and it dies. Turning onto a different road this happens also in motion going at normal speeds for the road.

My Terrain is stalling really bad some days and sometimes no problems at all. It does it more when going into reverse, I have to keep giving gas to get backed up. It has also died on me when I slow to a stop like at a light. This is really frustrating!!.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 GMC Terrain. While the vehicle was stopped at a traffic light, it stalled and was unable to be restarted. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who stated that the timing chain caused the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.
Vehicle with only 75,00 miles, runs rough and stalls, went to dealer and they say due to low oil at some point the timing chain has stretched and needs replaced along with sensors and actuators. Timing chain and associated parts replaced to the tune of $1715. 00. I check the oil and the dealership has been changing it. This looks to be a factory defect. I have sent a letter to gm for resolution as well.
Car jerks and stalls when idling and foot on the brake. Have to put the car in neutral when at a stop light or sign. If not, the car jerks and stalls. This started happening last month. Reduced power notification light came on today along with the engine light.
Takata recall when at a complete stop and starting to go the SUV will stall right where it is at. No warning light. Just dies!.
My GMC Terrain 2011 is having trouble accelerating, and I hear a noise from the engine. When I am at a stop light and I try to accelerate, it pulls and doesn't go forward. It's stalking my Terrain. I did some research, and I found that this vehicle has a recall #12313d- special coverage adjustment- engine balance chain and fuel pump. I looked up, and it seems this vehicle has 0 unclaimed recalls. So, I'm concern because this vehicle is stalling and not working as it should be. The recall does say, if left untreated, could cause the chain to break, leading to engine damaged.
My 2014 GMC Terrain has stalled on me 11 times. I cannot make any rhyme or reason out of it. It will stall after a 10 mile drive, it will stall after a 2 miles drive. The stalls seem to happen when I am coming from a stop, like when I stop to put my car in reverse to back into my garage. Or when I stop at a light or stop sign. Each time the car starts again, but rides really roughly. At stop signs and stop lights I feel the car start to tremor, so I put the car in neutral and cross my fingers. I need to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running. This is just unsafe to drive a car like this. This started about 6 weeks ago, and now it happened 3 times this past weekend.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 GMC Terrain. While driving low speeds, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was pulled over and was unable to restart. The vehicle was towed to mcdonald GMC Cadillac (5155 state st, saginaw, mi 48603, (989) 319-4136), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and was not able to assist. The failure mileage was 62,000.
2014 GMC Terrain with 66,000 miles stalling out when slowing/stopping, low acceleration, loud engine. Dealer says oil is low when it was just replaced 2 months (2,700 miles) ago. Cannot determine why vehicle is consuming more oil than what gm allows.
While exiting off a highway, the car stalled, it was only 2* fahrenheit. It started again, but the engine ran rough. Upon getting to the destination, there was oil under the vehicle. It was towed to a mechanic, and he determined that the rear main seal failed. He investigated possible causes, and came up with a gm service bulletin # 14882. The pvc system froze, causing the seal to fail. I've called gm numerous times and on all occasions I was told "your VIN number isn't covered by that service bulletin".
The engine light came on after an 3 days after oil change and begin to cut off when I would accelerate. I took it to carmax and they said it was a faulty sensor which was covered by the powertrain warranty. Carmax suggested I take the car to a GMC dealer for repair. I took the car to the GMC dealer, they repaired it and 1 1/2 weeks later the engine light came on and the car was cutting off again. I went to the GMC dealer a second time and they said, "they could not duplicate my concerns, there was no problem with the car, the engine light is not on and the car was driven for 10 minutes without any issues". After driving the car for 5 days, the engine light is on again and the car is stalling. I have to accelerate over 10 - 20 miles for the car to stay on. I know that something is wrong, I have been afraid to drive because with the car cuts off on me and no one has given a reason as to why. I do not want to get hit from behind. I drive the highway with a small child daily. I am concern that this issue is not being taken seriously. Something is wrong with the car!!!.

When I have my eco light at stopping or sitting it will cause the vehicle to shake or like it stall or wants to cut off cut off. When the eco is turned I don't have that problem. The engine is notown what is this problem? this happens on street not the highway on when sitting at a stop.

2012 gms Terrain 4 cylinder flex fuel- camshaft code, cam sensors replaced, spitting and sputtering, stalled x3 and shut off, fuel consumption noted, loss of power. GMC dealership refused to perform diagnosis on my car due to my refusal to pay for ruling out the documented fuel leak recall/special coverage. My request was only to have fuel the issue looked at and ruled out, nothing further, to ensure this was not causing my problem. I reported my problems that are consistent with the noted fuel special coverage and turned away because I did not have $120 to pay if they found it was not the problem. Upon reading my issue correlates with numerous Terrain and equinox owners. I want in this action to get something done for people like myself.
Vehicle has consistently run low/out of oil, and oil would need to be added weekly to maintain levels. After asking/checking for recalls, nothing was found. Two weeks ago the vehicle kept stalling when driving. Mechanic found that timing chain had stretched causing engine damage. This is the same as reported in NHTSA #10053269.

I was getting gas, fiiled up, when I got back into car, didn't want to start, really had to hit gas pedal, very scary, that happened 3 times after getting gas, another time I was at stop light, and it just stalled, engine completely stopped, hard start up again, so I decided for safety reasons taking it to dealership, it's still there as of 11/20/2017, but wanted to get this out there, I think maybe this is ongoing issue with certain models of GMC, and feel maybe it will be a recall issue if enough people report issues as such as these. I thank god I wasn't driving and this happened, def a safety concern GMC needs to address.
I purchased my car used in September two weeks later I started experiencing stalling and erratic jerking while driving. I took the car to the dealer where I purchased the car (while it was under warranty) and was told not to worry it's just the O2 sensors. The car was loosing oil like crazy. December the car became worse and stalled and would not start. The dealership informed me I need a new engine, I am no longer covered under warranty and still paying for this car. No one will help me so now I'm stuck with a payment and an inoperable car. . Oh did I mention I got a car fax once the car broke down to see the vehicle history the title is branded manufactor buy back/lemon. . I have seen on several forums and google that many people have complained and gm will not do a recall this issue is totally unsafe and can cause serious injury.
When vehicle is in hot humid climates. Approx 80-100f. It idles weird. It will continuity fight itself. Drops down to 700 rpm then back up to close 100 and repeats. Even worse with eco mode turned on. Bad programming it seems. Sometimes it seems like it almost stalls.
The car consumes oil so much you will stall out due to sensors pressure defect with the exhaust. I have spent so much money trying to fix, keep oil in it. It's not safe. It takes a full quart now every 500 to 700 miles and my car has 116k. It's been doing this for the 2 years I bought it. The stalling out with check engine indicates camshaft sensor but your just low on oil.
This car stalls for no reason while driving. I have fixed it multiple times but no fix works. It stalled on me while exiting the freeway yesterday, very scary situation. I am worried I will be in a wreck. I press the gas and the car will not accelerate. Very dangerous in certain situations. Especially when it stalls while making a turn in a intersection. Almost got t-boned the other day when it stalled while a car was oncoming. Since gm is not willing to acknowledge the problem and have not fix in place I will be getting rid of the car at my loss.
Initially radio stayed on after leaving car once. Later the car would not start even though battery was fairly new. Mechanic diagnosed 2 codes (p062b control micro processor and p0690 relay circuit) related to ecm. Mechanic reset the ecm and tried running car but codes came back again. New ecm had to be ordered and installed.
While driving at about 5 miles an hour, turning vehicle around a cul-DE-sac the vehicle completely turns off. I have contacted the GMC dealership about this and the only recall I was told was the fuel pump. I was told they would order my parts and they would call me; I never received a call. I have towed the vehicle to two repair shops and I have been told by both that it is a timing chain issue and I need to install a new engine! I called the GMC dealership and asked if the recall could be a direct result of my timing chain issue, and if I had any other recalls? I was told I would have to pay for them to look at my vehicle if not apart of the recall. I do not have the extra money to pay multiple times for my car to be looked at or to put an engine in a vehicle that has less than 85k miles. I purchased this vehicle in late December of 2015 and have not be able to drive the vehicle since about September of 2016. I have gotten at least two oil changes in that time frame (Dec-sept) from the same GMC dealership and was never told about any recalls or any issues with my vehicle besides needing tires/brakes. One of the mechanics that I took the vehicle to said I have other recalls. I was not able to locate any others online and that is my reason for writing this. I am very unsatisfied and do not know how to proceed.
The contact owns a 2012 GMC Terrain. While idling, the vehicle suddenly stalled and shut off. While driving at various speeds, the dashboard lights suddenly began to dim and the speed reduced to 15 mph. The "engine power reduced" message appeared. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on several occasions and the electronic control module was replaced and the throttle body was cleaned, but the failures continued. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 32,000.
