Equipment Problems of Honda Accord - part 2

While my vehicle was in transit, it experienced a sudden and severe loss of engine power. Simultaneously, multiple malfunction indicator lights (mils) illuminated on the dashboard, and my vehicle abruptly engaged "limp mode. " this drastic restriction of speed and maneuverability while in active traffic created an immediate and severe safety hazard, which nearly resulted in a catastrophic collision. Following the incident, a formal complaint was initiated with Honda customer relations. My own independent research clearly indicates that premature head gasket failure is a well-documented, systemic defect within these specific vehicle models; therefore, a constructive resolution was anticipated. While the initial intake communication appeared promising, the subsequent follow-up was highly unprofessional. The Honda representative who returned my call was dismissive of the safety risks involved, lacked basic professional courtesy, and explicitly stated that the manufacturer would offer no financial assistance or mechanical remediation for this known defect due to a lack of service records. The failure of this component represents both a significant mechanical defect and a severe threat to driver and public safety. This report is being filed to formally document the hazardous nature of this failure in transit, as well as the manufacturer's refusal to address or take accountability for an ongoing, documented issue.

On July 4th 2026, I was leaving from a restaurant that evening and within 5-10 seconds of me turning my car on, all of the lights on my dashboard turned on. I was slightly confused because there were multiple at once and my car was rumbling a bit from under the engine hood. Within a few weeks prior, I’ve been having with my digital car screen switching back and forth between tabs (from the radio, to my carplay, to the settings). It will be intermittent but fairly consistent. I plan to take my car to an auto parts store for a code test and battery/alternator test to see if there’s any further issues. I just purchased a new battery for this car within the 3 years of me getting it, 2 years ago and there shouldn’t be any issues. I’m not sure how to proceed and I really don’t have it in me to spend large amounts of money and time with repairs for a supposedly heavily reliable car. My current mileage is at 120,000.

We started driving and after driving the tire pressure light went on. We stopped checked all tires pressure everything was fine. Then about 2 or 3 hours later every light on my dash board lit up. Check engine light: brake system light: traction control light: lane keeping assist (lkas) light: adaptive cruise control light: power steering light. There was no weird sounds and no smoke or smell. Got off at the first exit I could and stopped at a gas station to check my fluids engine and battery just make sure nothing was wrong. Had to get a hotel room next morning when it was time to leave the lights were still on and I drove to auto zone up the street and had them see what codes were coming up. They told me it was the turbo and water gate. I then go my car towed.

The entire monitor is experiencing "ghost touch" issues. While driving, the monitor rapidly changes screens beeping each time. It will throw you out of bluetooth into a random radio station. It switches from screen to screen beeping each time. It is extremely distracting while driving. In my opinion, the distraction is hazardous. It has been to dealer, I have also filed a case with Honda case # 16523872). Dealer had it for 3 days, did nothing, said there are no parts available to fix it. They said sometimes this means Honda is working on a recall but they have no way of knowing for sure. Honda has not issued a recall. Honda case manager confirms they are "still working on it". This all started 6 weeks ago and car monitor continues to experience the "ghost touch" issue.

Was driving onto the interstate when car hissing sounded ,then car cut out and all my dashboard warning lights were on a loop the code is turbo boost but car died and no safety features would work I just barely missed being completely crushed by 18 wheeler.

How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? the ongoing malfunction caused numerous warning lights and messages to appear on the dashboard over approximately the past two months. Because the vehicle was displaying multiple warnings and experiencing an apparent engine-related issue, I was concerned about the vehicle's reliability and safety while driving. An engine malfunction could potentially cause the vehicle to lose power or become inoperable unexpectedly, which could put me and others on the road at risk. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes. The problem was inspected and confirmed by a Honda dealership on August 12, 2026. I was informed that the vehicle needs a new head gasket. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? yes. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Honda dealership. To my knowledge, it has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? yes. For approximately two months prior to taking the vehicle to the dealership, multiple warning lights and messages began appearing on the dashboard. The warnings continued to appear and became increasingly concerning, which ultimately led me to take the vehicle to the Honda dealership on August 12, 2026, where I was informed that the head gasket needs to be replaced.

I am reporting a premature and dangerous failure of the engine head gasket on my 2019 Honda Accord sport (1. 5l turbo engine, 68,220 miles). While driving, the vehicle suddenly lost power due to severe engine misfires. Simultaneously, the dashboard experienced a total cascade of safety system failures, illuminating warning lights for the check engine light, electric parking brake, traction control (vsa), road departure mitigation, and adaptive cruise control. The vehicle currently in the authorized Honda dealer where technicians officially diagnosed a blown head gasket leaking coolant into cylinder 3. This is a widespread, well-documented manufacturing defect with Honda's 1. 5l turbo engines. I request that the NHTSA launch a formal safety investigation into american Honda for these premature head gasket failures to force a mandatory safety recall.

Unknown. I’ve had an issue with all of the lights on my dash coming on for a few days to a week & going off for a couple days then coming back on. I’ve seen numerous of people with the same issue, spend thousands of dollars after a diagnostic text at a Honda dealership and still experiencing the same issue with no solution.

When driving on highway the car displayed multiple warning messages on dashboard including electronic power system light, lane keeping assist system problem, tpms system problem, etc. Mileage was 22380miles. I bought the car may 2026. I drove it for around 1000miles. The next day the warnings disapeared.

My 2022 Honda Accord sport screen / navigation is malfunctioning / failing and it is available for inspection. This is a major safety issue because unless the screen is in anti-theft mode (after a reset) which locks all functions, the screen will start glitching / ghost-tapping to where the screen nonstop beeps and flashes from feature to feature without any ability to stop it or even tap the screen to try to fix it. While driving this is a major safety issue that inherently draws the driver's attention away from the road to trying to fix the screen (which is obviously a safety problem while driving. This is a common issue among Honda Accords and I do not know how this has not been addressed yet. My car is currently in the dealership shop and they are saying because it in outside 3 years, it will cost over $1000 to fix for a safety issue that can't be worked around besides turning off the whole system. There were no problems with the car or the screen prior to this randomly starting to happen about a week ago on a hot summer's day. Please help with this, this is a huge safety issue and someone will get hurt someday because they aren't focusing on the road and instead trying to get the non-stop beeping fixed.

While driving to work, the radio seem to have a ghost inside the radio. The screen has a mind of its on. The radio turns itself off and on by itself. It’s a safe hazard to driving with all that is happening. The radio will beep constantly while driving down the road and my teenager will not driving my car, due to being scared.

Abs module went out and this has been a problem with numerous Hondas. Specifically the 2014 Honda Accord exl and exl coupe model. I was quoted $3k+ for repairs and I don’t have that kind of money.

The infotainment center in this 2022 Honda Accord has some sort of problem where the system constantly is changing itself from screen to screen and is constantly beeping. It is a significant distraction when driving and creates a hazardous situation. Although it is a known problem by Honda because they sent out an engineering request about this issue, they deny that there is any problem and they have no fix for this screen problem.

The dealer from whom I purchased this vehicle is refusing to release it to me because of an open recall. I purchased this vehicle [xxx], it is now June 19th. I relocated to germany to accept a us government sponsored contract job with the us army, working for general dynamics. This vehicle is intended to be my sole source of transportation. I have paid for this vehicle, but the dealer won't release it to me due to the open recall (NHTSA recall number 26v-366). Neither Honda nor the dealer has given me any sense of when this will be resolved. I don't know how many owners fit this scenario, I. E. Vehicle purchased, but not delivered due to the open recall, but it can't be that many. I get no sense or indication that Honda is prioritizing people in my position. Neither the dealer nor Honda has offered to reimburse me for the car I was forced to rent, due to this recall. I am based in [xxx], attached to the 10th army air and missile defense command as a civilian contractor, and purchased this vehicle through military autosource. I would appreciate anything NHTSA can do to light a fire under Honda to resolve this issue. I am paying for a vehicle I can't use, and also paying to rent a car, due to this recall. While driving my 2019 Honda Accord hybrid at highway speed, the engine suddenly suffered catastrophic failure. The engine block ruptured, leaving a large visible hole with internal engine components exposed. Oil was expelled into the engine bay and ignited/burned briefly. This occurred without prior warning at highway speed and created a sudden loss-of-propulsion hazard. The vehicle has approximately 48,500 miles and has had regular on-time maintenance via Honda dealership. No warnings or other symptoms were active prior to engine rupture event. Fire dept & nys police arrived on scene prior to being towed. The vehicle is currently preserved at sussex Honda dealer for inspection and awaiting diagnosis.

The random ghost punches on the infotainment screen cause distractions while driving. It beeps and blares music without anyone touching it. Sometimes the screen goes dark and makes it hard to reset maintenance issues etc. Also, the car has braked really hard when getting on an off ramp from the interstate. Nothing in the road and lines clearly marked.

Have received notification many months ago that my car has a recall on the tire repair kit. Have been told it’s been back ordered for months. Have called multiple dealerships and being told the same thing. This is a safety issue and unacceptable at this point.

I just replaced the head gasket 3 years ago. I was on my way home & all the lights in the dash came on. Took it to the local dealership. Once again it’s the head gasket.

I had just started my car and when I turned my radio was on ,that has been playing music & letting my take take calls thru just fine. I then turned the audio off because I was on a phone call & didnt want it to conect to the car and all I could hear & everyone in walmart parking lot could hear was extremely loud white noise(static) . Even with the audio turned off & completely down, it was deafening. I do notice that when im on a phone call & im not using the cars assistance, it shows that my volume is muted but turned all the way up to 32!! which is crazy, I know that would blow the speakers. But anyways I could not even pay attention to try to drive home on June 2nd when this incident occurred, so I had to sit in the blistering heat for forever it seemed trying to get it to quit, which I had to keep turning my car on & off which I didnt like doing bc I know that not good , in order to get the static to go away enough for me to get home which was barely 2 miles away. . Very aggrevatying & stressful, when I was currently workingand had to quit for the day. . I believe the car got too hot. I say that because barely a month after purchasing my Honda Accord( ive currently had car for 1 yr ), the back windshield shattered while I was at work, and it was very hot ,juwt like it was the day my speakers started screaming static at me. . I hope this can be fixed. I cant afford to trade or even fix this issue at the moment and my job requires me to drive alot. . Thanks. . Hope to talk soon.

The screen is now severely ghost-touching, overriding navigation, and falsely reporting accidents while I drive. This is a severe distraction and a safety hazard.

The turbo charger. The vehicle is currently at the dealership where it was made known that many other similar vehicles are experiencing this issue with no cause. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealer. This issues occurred 1 week ago. All the warning lights came up out of no where. Took it to two different places where they confirmed it was code p0299.

Very loud static across multiple speakers, often independent of radio volume with intermittent static through multiple speakers even when muted or off. I can't hear sirens or emergency vehicles. I can't hear anything except loud static. This is a safety hazard. I read comments about this being a common issue with 2016/2017 Honda Accords xl and higher. This is a factory/manufacturer's defect. There should be a recall so customers don't have a $1400 expense for replacement. Unable to upload video of very loud static noise.

As I’m driving screeching static noise coming from the inside of vehicle whether radio is on or off. Very disturbing. No warning lamps on car drives perfectly . Only problem is the noise which can cause an accident , gives me a migraine every time.

The contact owns a 2008 Honda Accord. While attempting to register the vehicle, the contact was informed of NHTSA campaign number: 09e063000(equipment). The contact indicated that the vehicle could not be register at local dmv office due to the incomplete recall; the contact indicated that the part listed in the recall was not installed onto the vehicle.

If the car is in the sun loud static noise blares on all the speakers.

My display screen (infotainment) that has almost all the setting to my car on it has been glitching every single time I drive my car. It has what is being described as "ghost touch". It will just flick back and forth between all different settings to my car, turn on and off the radio and go between stations, set destinations on my maps, submitting incidents on my maps, calling my contacts, requesting voice commands which lowers the fan speed on my ac and heat when doing so and numerous other settings including how my car locks itself, rear camera setting, audio settings, it is going through everything while driving and while stationary. I believe it is a major hazard, it as startled me so many time by just randomly blasting a radio station while im driving, messing with my navigation on maps while driving, I have been distracted so many times when I should have been focused on the road but instead I am trying to stop it from changing settings, calling people, trying to cancel routes its setting on my maps and ect. The problem is a "known issue" According to the Honda dealership I bought it from and took in to look at for repair. Also I quick google search of "2022 Honda Accord sport screen glitching" brings up tons of other people dealing with this same issue and there is apparently no fix for it. Honda said you can buy a new screen but it may still do it since there is no official fix for this. It drives me crazy to even drive this car and I commute to work over a hour and a half on highways with it freaking out the whole way most of the time.

While driving on the florida turnpike Friday 05/15/2026, sunroof spontaniously shattered. It was a clear day and no cars around me. I have paid to get it fixed but I believe this is a saftey issue and should be recalled and money spent reimbursed. .
