I was sitting at a red light in my 2025 Honda Accord sport that I bought brand new about six months ago when I heard a loud explosion and saw a piece of glass fall on my windshield. I could then hear glass cracking over my head. I got out my vehicle and observed the moon roof glass to be completed shattered. I drove straight to the Honda service center where I purchased the vehicle and was told that is was most likely due to heat. The mechanic advised he has the same vehicle and the same thing happened to him. Then I was told that I would have to go through my insurance because that isn't covered by their warranty. Currently waiting to hear back from the manager. Clearly this was caused by a defect and should be corrected by Honda.
I had a flat tire while driving on 7/8/25 and the tpms error did not show up in the car screen. I informed the dealer hoen Honda motors of carlsbad, CA, and he mentioned that tpms will not work for flat tire.

Every light on my dashboard came on out the blue while driving.
I am writing to formally raise a serious safety concern regarding a known and recurring defect in the infotainment/head unit system of my 2017 Honda Accord. Like many other Honda owners, I am experiencing unpredictable and extremely loud static or popping sounds through the speakers, which occur without warning while the vehicle is in operation. This issue significantly compromises vehicle safety. The sudden, blaring static drowns out critical audio alerts such as collision warnings, lane departure signals, and other safety-related notifications, placing me and others at increased risk while driving. Upon bringing this issue to a certified Honda dealership, I was informed that the head unit cannot be disconnected, as it is integrated with the vehicle’s essential safety features. In other words, I am forced to choose between enduring a hazardous and disruptive audio malfunction or disabling key safety systems entirely—an unacceptable situation for any driver, particularly in a vehicle marketed as reliable and safe. Furthermore, I was advised that the only known solution is a full replacement of the head unit, which comes at a cost of approximately $1,800 out of pocket. It is deeply concerning that Honda is expecting customers to bear the cost of repairing a defect that is both widespread and clearly rooted in manufacturing or design flaws. Given the scope and severity of this issue, I urge Honda to take immediate and responsible action by issuing a recall or providing an extended warranty repair for all affected vehicles. I am requesting a formal response regarding how Honda plans to resolve this matter in my case and ensure the safety of its customers moving forward.

Shortly after purchasing this 2021 Honda Accord hybrid (used, from a dealer), the infotainment touchscreen began to exhibit phantom touch behavior — the screen activates or presses buttons on its own without user input. This causes menus to change, volume to fluctuate, navigation to exit, or apps to open/close while the vehicle is in motion. It occurs frequently. The issue is not related to driver error, screen protector use, or moisture. The system has been rebooted and factory reset without improvement. A dealership employee has personally witnessed the issue in person, and I have recorded video proof of it occurring. This behavior is distracting and unsafe, as it pulls the driver’s attention away from the road unexpectedly as the screen flashes, and produces audible beeps. This issue makes it difficult or impossible to control basic vehicle functions like audio, phone calls, or climate. On one occasion, it rapidly switched inputs and opened screens while I was actively driving. Given how many critical systems are integrated into this touchscreen — including vehicle settings, audio, climate, backup camera interface, and navigation — a malfunction like this compromises safe operation of the vehicle whilst the vehicle is in motion. This defect was not disclosed prior to sale and was present within the first few days of ownership. I urge NHTSA to investigate this issue for potential design flaws or hardware failures in Honda’s infotainment systems, particularly in Accord hybrid models with the display audio touchscreen.

I left work on an unusually hot day, and several minutes into my trip, a deafening static noise began emanating from the dashboard area. I was frantically hitting all the radio and air buttons while driving, but I could not stop the noise, so I pulled over on the side of the road. The noise stopped after I turned off the car. I inspected the battery connections and the grounding cable, but found no obvious culprit. The noise resumed when I began driving again, but did not happen the next morning. The deafening static was unpredictable and unresolvable over the next few weeks, and it was so loud at times that my noise canceling headphones did not prevent pain in my ears. It happened on intermittent occasions, in all instances while I was driving on busy roads or interstates, and several times leaving me and my child stranded in unsafe conditions while waiting on help. I finally discovered through forum chats and online videos that this is a common occurrence with my specific car; that the source of the problem is a known faulty amp that overheats and causes interference; and importantly, that the problem occurs only when the outside temperature is excessively hot. Due to the specific conditions required to trigger the interference, the static noise is impossible to replicate on command, rendering troubleshooting efforts prohibitively costly and unlikely to bear fruit. The infotainment screen glitches out and selects options on the screen without human interaction. Whenever it starts doing this screen input disables making the screen extremely distracting while driving. During one of my trip, while I was driving on the highway, the screen started going crazy on it's own. First it cancelled my directions from google maps and kept switching out the screen to different apps by clicking on it's own. It was so distracting I had to pull over and turn off the car to reset the screen. It happens randomly so it's nearly impossible to reproduce to get it repaired under warranty.

There is a loud humming noise that is starts at 40 mph. The noise comes and goes, but sometimes lasts for 10 minutes. It appears to be the active noise cancelling unit. There was a previous bulletin service bulletin 21-053 about this issue for 2018-2020 Honda Accords.
It was a hundred degree day when this incident first occurred. When I turned the car on after 5 seconds, the speaker started to make a loud static noise that got unbearably loud, and it spread from speaker to speaker, until all the speakers in the car were blaring a staticky sound. It didn't matter if my phone was plugged in, or if the radio was on, or if the sound system was turned off, it continued to make the sound. I turned off the car and turned it back on and it immediately started again. It didn't matter if I was parked or if I was driving, it would make the noise. Eventually, this sound got louder and louder, and then the speakers stopped working altogether, no radio or music sound would come on. I turned the car off, then back on, and the static noise came back. It happened again the next day (another 100 degree day) and so I had a mechanic look at the car the next day when it was slightly cooler, and he could not replicate the problem. The speakers went back to normal the next couple times that I turned on the car. I have a video that recorded the static noise.
While driving a 2025 Honda Accord hybrid with approximately 2300 miles on it at a speed of 40 mph, with nothing above the vehicle and no vehicles within a quarter mile of the vehicle, the sunroof glass exploded over the roof of the car and onto the highway. The sound was like a missile hitting the car. Fortunately the sunroof inner sliding panel was closed and no glass entered the passenger compartment. About a third of the glass went onto the highway and the remaining part shattered on top of the car. Pictures were taken of the car. I contacted Honda and a case was opened. I was instructed to take the vehicle to a Honda dealer for inspection. The dealer agreed that the explosion was not due to any act of mine or outside cause and the glass was replaced under my warranty. My concern is that the glass totally shattered and though the three passengers in the car were not injured, had the sliding panel under the glass been open, there would have been serious consequences. I believe that Honda should put some sort of impact glass on the sunroof that will not shatter.
On June 17, 2025, I went with my mechanic to inspect a car I was considering purchasing. The vehicle is a 2015 Honda Accord sport, showing approximately 60,000 miles on the odometer. My mechanic performed a diagnostic scan, and everything appeared to be in good working order at the time. However, on June 23, 2025, I went to the dmv to register the vehicle, and I was informed that the car has a fraudulent odometer reading. The dmv has opened an investigation, but I won’t receive the results for a few months. I am now concerned that the car may not be safe to drive. It emits a burnt plastic smell after being driven and turned off, which raises serious safety concerns. I paid $10,700 for the vehicle and an additional $311 to register it and obtain a temporary plate.

The vehicle has an emission system error along with all other errors, car also hesitates to accelerate. Yes it is dangerous a failing turbocharger can result in a noticeable decrease in engine power, especially at higher speeds. Diagnostic : confirmed by dealership. Car keeps slamming on brakes on interstate car keeps misfiring cylinders 1. 5 head gasket problems should have a recall with these Honda as much as they give problems. .
My sunroof exploded. I was driving north on I-35 in the kansas city metro. I heard an actual explosion, then the sound of shrapnel washing over my vehicle. I wasn't sure it was me at first. Nothing hit the car. I noticed a new noise like passing (raggedy) wind and started to slide the sunroof "cover" back and you could see the glass had exploded outward. Had I not had the sunroof shade closed I, and the inside of the car, would've been covered in glass.
Driving the vehicle at highway speeds the large orange “brake” warning illuminates and flashes, and the brake activates. This has happened approximately 5-6 times since I have owned the car. This started within 2 months of purchasing the vehicle. The dealer has tried replacing the front camera and I have changed the battery. None of this has fixed the issue. According to my innova 5610 code reader, there are 32 pending codes for the electric brake booster, including bring temperature too high, brake booster driver, circuit, overheat, brake pedal stroke sensor component, internal failure, brake pedal stroke sensor one circuit short to ground, brake pedal stroke sensor one circuit short to battery or open, brake pedal stroke sensor two circuit, short to ground, brake pedal stroke sensor two circuit short to battery or open, sensor voltage, a short circuit to ground, driver seatbelt sensor, vehicle, communication bus a performance, vehicle communication bus c performance, lost communication with the ecm/pcm a, f – can malfunction pcm – tcm, can communication failure with driving support system control unit, lost communication with vehicle, dynamics, control, module, lost communication with park brake control module, can reception error srs, can malfunction ecm/pcm gauge control, module, invalid data received – signal has too many transitions/events, invalid data received from transmission, control, module – event information, invalid data received from vehicle dynamic control module event information, electric parking brake system malfunction control module – internal electronic failure, battery voltage circuit voltage below threshold, battery circuit voltage above threshold, and control module input power a circuit open. After I changed the battery and took the vehicle to the dealer for recalibration they mentioned the pending items, but did not do anything about them or record them on their paperwork.

On 2025-06-12 at about 3:50 pm est I triggered a remote start command from my phone via the Hondalink app to cool down the car before leaving work. When I went out to the car it had not started. I assumed the command had simply failed, so I returned home and parked in our attached 2-car garage at around 5:10 pm. At about 6:30 pm I opened the door between the house and the garage and heard an engine running. The car was found to have spontaneously started itself. I do not know precisely how long it had been running. It took me a couple seconds to recognize the situation and the danger, and once I realized what had happened I immediately closed the door to prevent carbon monoxide from entering our house. I tried accessing Hondalink to shut down the vehicle remotely but the app gave a message "services currently unavailable". In order to safely shut it down, I opened the garage doors, waited a couple minutes for the garage to ventilate, then quickly moved in and shut down the engine while avoiding breathing in. We noticed a smell of fumes in our house near the connecting door. Both keys were in static locations (not in pockets, etc. Where the buttons could have been accidentally pressed). They had been that way since I got home. I believe that Hondalink's servers sent the remote command to my vehicle *significantly later* than the command was requested. This is a major problem and safety checks should prevent a delayed command from having an effect on the vehicle, especially when dealing with engine start commands. The carbon monoxide buildup fortunately seemed to be minimal, although I am again unclear exactly how long the engine had been running. The vehicle will normally shut itself off 10 minutes after a remote start. However, the most dangerous situation would have been if the car shut itself off and then someone entered the garage shortly afterward without realizing that the vehicle had been running.

The infotainment system has major issues. We cannot use it bc it is dangerously distracting. If a phone is connected it will randomly make unrequested calls, mute calls over and over again, turn off navigation, falsely reports police or accidents without anyone prompting it to do so and randomly turns on static and loud radios stations. Which is startling. It will also randomly start playing itunes or a podcast that you’ve never heard of. It is always flipping screens. It isn’t an occasional occurrence. It is all the time. Recently during a 10 minute drive it made 4 unrequested calls. If a phone is not connected it flips through screens and turns on the radio randomly and tries to connect to phones without being requested to do so. When you do try to connect a phone good luck. It won’t work easily or only the sound will come through but the screen will say nothing is connected. The touch screen only works about 20% of the time. You have to find your phone to hang up a phone call you didn’t make. We have recorded video of incidences. It has been happening since we got the car but recently it has been worse.
My radio is throwing static. You can turn it off, turn the volume to 0, nothing helps. It only gets louder, and from my understanding this has happened too 100+ people. They have the same make/ model/ year as mine and they are all experiencing the same problem with no solution. I feel not only my safety, but other peoples safety are put at risk. This is a severe distraction from the road, that is something that would result in a wreck because of the sound. Lots of dealerships say the vehicles experiencing this problem need a whole entire head unit, or new radio. That’s $5,000, and more. It’s ridiculous that we are all experiencing the same problem and all having the same trouble and nothing is being done about the issue. With almost 100+ people having the same exact problem, there should have been a recall a long time ago. This is absolutely dangerous for drivers, children, and passengers of the vehicle. I ask that something be done about this immediately. I am afraid to drive my own car places because of this issue. It needs to be resolved ASAP. This is no longer a “us” problem. This issue has everything to do with the manufacturing of the vehicle.
The head unit touch screen beings to have "ghost" touches which start basically changing everything that's available on the screen. This has led to suddenly loud music being played, navigation being moved around, etc. This causes distractions constantly as it's completely unexpected. The unit offers no way to turn it completely off so you're stuck with it doing stuff randomly. There's also no physical buttons to control any of the functions on the screen. It's basically forcing you to try to get it to stop doing random actions while you're driving.
The radio and apps system freezes and can't be used and a lot of the time the radio and apps just start changing on their own and it's constant between apps making my screen difficult to use or unable to use at all.
Info entertainment screen will glitch out. It starts with not responding to touch. Then it will eventually connect to car play, once navigation is entered it will work for a moment before changing screens to stopping navigation. It will also randomly mute call when using hands free. Even when not connect with bluetooth or wifi it will start changing screens and audio options. **have video of glitching, if there is a way to upload tried resetting to factory settings; didn’t fix issues. Delete phones and reconnected; didn’t fix issues, hard reset phones; didn’t fix issues.

I own a 2017 Honda Accord “touring” model that has developed an intermittent audio problem (described below) that is a safety issue because it causes serious driver distraction and impatience to reach a destination to turn the car off. There is no way for the driver to stop the problem without turning the car completely off. Despite numerous reports from others (documented below), Honda has not issued a recall. It is hoping that a “goodwill discount” of 40% or so (offered only if the owner knows to demand it) will prevent a recall. The only fix is to have a Honda dealer replace the oem “audio head unit”. Without the “goodwill discount”, the installed cost is $1,400 - $1,600 to fix a condition that is obviously out of warranty. The problem is that in hot (85+) weather, even with the audio system turned off, a modest “scratching” sound begins from all speakers, gradually becoming a loud, continuous static which lasts for 3 or 4 minutes and then gradually tapers off to silence. If I turn audio power on while this is occurring, the static instantly becomes intolerably loud until I turn audio power off; then the scratching continues for a few more minutes until it gradually disappears. When this problem is not occurring, the audio system plays normally. This problem is significantly frequent. 10,000 to 15,000 such cars were sold. •carcomplaints. Com lists 170 such complaints under the electrical system and other problems categories. •carproblemzoo. Com lists 99 general equipment complaints; the static noise issue stands out as the most common recent problem. . •driveaccord. Net, a popular owner forum: “2017 Accord radio static” has around 470 posts. That is a total of about 700+ reports of this problem, on 5 -7% of these vehicles. That is a safety problem that must be recalled! problem first occurred in may 2025. More frequent in hot weather: 3 times in last 3 days. Symptoms occur randomly and don't last long enough to reach a dealer for diagnosis.
I was driving down the highway when my sunroof exploded out of no where. No debris hit my vehicle. The explosion was extremely loud and spontaneous. My safety was put at great risk as there is nothing I could have done to prevent this problem. As I am going 75 miles an hour with vehicles behind me, my glass exploded. This glass could have fallen onto me while driving, seriously injured ,or even, and killed me. Luckily my sun shade was closed. The debris from my shattered sunroof could have seriously injured the vehicle behind me.
Friday may 30th, I was driving to work on the interstate. No cars/rocks or anything was in my path and all of a sudden the sunroof glass shattered causing glass to go everywhere. It alerted me so badly luckily I didn’t react in a way that could’ve been deadly. I had my shade cover back exposing the glass so when it just so suddenly shattered, glass entered inside the car. Honda is saying this is normal and it’s costing $845 to replace and I haven’t had this car a year and it’s shattered already?.
The radio is malfunctioning. It is switching off, toggling between screens, switching stations, turning off car play when in use and closing out assitive driving apps and there is no one touching the screen.
Entertainment touch screen glitching: frozen screen, randomly switch screens, random voice activation, random clicking different spot of screen, random exiting navigation system.

There is a a/c condenser leak on the 2017 Honda Accord hybrid similar to the ones that happened on the Honda civics of this time period. The Honda civics got extended warranties for the condenser leaks, but the Honda Accords did not. Please add the Honda Accords from 2017 and the 2017 Honda Accord hybrids to the recall list needing extended warranties and technical service bulletins on the leaks in the a/c condensers that Honda should cover, extend the warranty and fix. Thanks.
While diving at highway speeds (first at 55mph in may 2025 and then again in July 2025 at 65mph) I got a warning on screen about power loss and a critical failure and that power will be reduced and to stop at the side of the road. Within 30 seconds or a minute of the warning the car power cut out significantly impacting the speed and both times almost causing traffic behind me to hit me from behind. I took it to Honda dealership in dulles, va back in may 2025 and they told me it was the electric water pump which I had replaced. Now in July it happened again and this time I had my wife and child with me in the car as well as a guest. I had to pull over and all the warning lights started to flash (everyone of them). I have taken it back to Honda but having a car that goes from 65mph to 25mph on the highway with no warning to others is a recipe for disaster. Apparently this is a known issue with the hybrid system and the battery needs replaced (from online Honda forums) which Honda is not doing unless forced. I am still waiting for my dealer to get back to me but its exactly the same problem as the other notes I saw online. My car only has 46,000 miles.
