38 Equipment problem of the 2014 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/22/2025

I brought my 2014 Honda Accord to an authorized Honda dealership to have the cv axle recall completed. The dealership informed me that they would not perform the recall unless I paid out of pocket for “stripped/over-tightened bolts” that must be removed in order to complete the recall. Since this is a federal safety recall, I understand the law requires the manufacturer and dealer to complete the recall at no charge, including all labor and parts necessary to carry out the repair. By refusing to perform the recall unless I pay, the dealer is preventing me from receiving a federally mandated safety repair. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this matter and ensure Honda/dealership complies with recall obligations.

39 Equipment problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/20/2025

So about 3 months ago all the sudden all the lights on dash board came on, everyday in the morning when I turn on vehicle on and start driving it does not go over 10 mph even after pressing gas padel all the way, then I have to shut off vehicle for some time and starts back on it start running but lights still comes on. Honda repair shop told me to change fuel injectors which estimate $1,600. But at two different certified mechanic told me Honda Accord has problem with their engine getting coolant in the engine.

40 Equipment problem of the 2021 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/19/2025

My car ran hot for the first time and I was told my head gaskets were blown and I needed a new radiator. Once I got that repaired I was then told my transmission cooler went bad on my car which caused my engine to run hot and blow my gaskets in addition to cracking my radiator. I keep my car serviced as required with the Honda dealership and they had advised seeing this same issue in several other vehicles like mine. My car has less than 100k miles and I am the only owner. It has never given me any warning lights. The techs feel this is a manufacturer defect as my car should not be having this type of issue this soon. That’s the benefit of a Honda as I have owned several new Hondas and have never had any issues. I have done research and there are several forms with this same issue reported. I am attaching the initial work order. I was just advised of the transmission issue on Monday.

41 Equipment problem of the 2012 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/15/2025

While driving to work and out of nowhere I began to smell a burning smell thought it was engine. I had ac on so I turned it off and that’s when I noticed that my center console was on fire. Was driving on freeway so took the first exit and immediately pulled over tried to put out fire but couldn’t. Luckily a couple from the car in front of me that was waiting for light came to help and put fire out. Have no idea what the cause of the fire was. Definitely a scary situation and safety issue.

42 Equipment problem of the 2022 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/14/2025

For the last 4–6 months, the infotainment display touchscreen on my car has been malfunctioning on nearly every drive. The screen registers phantom touches (as if multiple buttons are being pressed) when no one is touching it. Typical behavior: the audio switches from bluetooth to am/fm on its own, opens random menus, and then the screen freezes and becomes unresponsive for several minutes or until I turn the car off and back on. During a freeze I cannot change audio sources or select functions. This began as an occasional issue but has become more and more frequent. I have tried cleaning the screen and removed items from the rearview mirror to rule out reflections/obstructions with no improvement. Safety concerns: the malfunction is distracting and forces me to use my phone for navigation when the screen freezes and I can’t access maps through the car reliably when needed. My state has a hands-free law prohibiting touching/holding a phone while driving, so this defect creates both a crash risk due to distractions caused by the radio malfunctioning and a risk of citations for something outside my control. I contacted my local Honda service department on August 5, 2025. They stated they’ve performed software updates and even radio replacements for other owners with the same issue, but customers return with the problem, and they are not offering an effective repair at this time. I also filed a complaint with Honda today, August 14, 2025. I personally know another Accord owner with identical symptoms, and I’ve found numerous similar reports online dating back to at least one year ago. No crash, fire, or injuries to date, but the issue occurs almost every time I drive.

43 Equipment problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/13/2025

My car is always having some electrical issue but when I type in my VIN number, no recalls are listed under my VIN number and then for the last couple of days I've been experiencing acceleration problems when I look up a 2018 Honda Accord it is saying that fuel pumps have been an issue, but my VIN number pulls up no information as far as me falling under that recall what are the proper steps to get my car looked at to see if my VIN number even though it's not populating, any recall falls under the recall.

44 Equipment problem of the 2021 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/13/2025

While driving, all of my dashboard warning lights turn on at the same time. On several occasions, the vehicle has also completely shut off while I was driving, creating a dangerous situation where I lost power steering & braking assistance. I request that your safety/ recall department investigate this issue immediately to determine whether it falls under an active recall or should be added as a new recall. I know several people who has the same issue in my city with the same model car as mines. Plus I seen on social media where people who has the model as mines have the same issue.

45 Equipment problem of the 2017 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/12/2025

The backup camera is no longer working on my vehicle. There was no recall when there was one for other Honda vehicles with the same issue.

46 Equipment problem of the 2022 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/11/2025

1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the infotainment touchscreen is malfunctioning. It registers false inputs “ghost touches” without any user interaction. Yes, the vehicle and affected screen are available for inspection upon request. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? the ghost touches cause the screen to randomly change menus, activate or deactivate features, and make it difficult to use navigation, audio, and android auto with maps. This creates distraction while driving, as I have to focus on regaining control of the screen instead of the road, putting myself and others at risk. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? the issue has not yet been officially confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, but it is recurring and can be demonstrated on demand. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? the infotainment system has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance, or others. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no warning lamps or messages were displayed. The issue first appeared recently (8/2025) and has recurred intermittently since then.

47 Equipment problem of the 2016 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/06/2025

When driving, occasionally, there is a strong buildup of static coming off the speakers, the problem persists for a long time and seems to calm down if the radio is turned to full volume. It happens at random after driving for a few minutes, if the a/c is on it can get worse, I think it could be a faulty wiring issue from wear and tear or a frequency change that everyone with a 16’ Accord has as I’ve seen on videos.

48 Equipment problem of the 2008 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/06/2025

On August 6, 2025, I scheduled an appointment at ball Honda, located at 2135 national city blvd, national city, CA 91950 (tel: 619-259-5865), for a recall service on my 2008 Honda Accord, since I was unable to attend, I sent my son to take the car in, however, the Honda representative refused to perform the service, stating, "the recall was for vehicles purchased new, and they came with a nose mask," without checking the VIN or verifying whether my vehicle was actually affected by the recall.

49 Equipment problem of the 2014 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/06/2025

2014 Honda Accord, about 70,000 miles. Original owner. We had all the dashboard lights come on. Vsa modulator. Local Honda dealer found the following. Tech found codes 123-11 vsasolenoid valve malfunction and request sub-total u0416-68 vsa brake actuator malfunction. The 2 codes confirm that the failure is the vsa modulator. A new modulator. Part# is 04571-t2g-l01. Installed is $3344. 86 contacted a local auto repair show that deals with Hondas. This seems to be a common issue, poor design of the circuit board. Thin wires to the wiring harness. There are 3rd party business that can repair the boards, so know issue. Would be interesting to get info from them. 50 Equipment problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/04/2025

The steering clicks in all roads in san francisco, the Hondalink is the worst app never works as expected and the lane keeping assistance sucks, it can’t helps more than a second actually I used to have a Toyota and really works great. The apple carplay sucks in unstable.

51 Equipment problem of the 2022 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/01/2025

The infotainment system is ghosting. It changes and blanks out the screen randomly or when a phone call is received. It also will constantly beep when changing or shutting off the radio. This has been a known issue for Honda since 2017 and affects 2017-2023 Accords and pilots. The dealer confirmed the issue through diagnostics but said Honda has no plans at this time to solve the problem. Also, the iphone charger has never worked in the car and the service department at serra Honda in o'fallon, illinois said there are no plans for Honda to fix the problem. These issues need to be corrected and the owners financially compensated for features that do not work and were sold to consumers knowingly by the manufacturer.

52 Equipment problem of the 2022 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/01/2025

The faulty touch screen infotainment system creates an environment that is not conducive to safe driving. This specific issue is referred to as the "ghost touch" across the industry which involves the system randomly rapidly pressing buttons autonomously and producing an audible beep with every press of the button. Not only is every random beep a distraction but this issue causes drivers to attempt to regain control of the infotainment system while driving due to the fact that most drivers now rely on these systems for navigation and to abide by hands-free traffic laws. You may ask "why don't you simply turn the infotainment system off?". Well I tried and the system turns itself back on. This creates a scenario that is equivalent to the dangers presented by texting and driving. A simple google search of 'Honda Accord ghost touch' will yield a myriad of results with consumers experiencing this issue and sharing the same concerns. I have audio-video recording of this issue and have spoken to the service advisor at pearson Honda located in mildothian, va and they are requesting that customers pay $180 for a diagnosis of this well known issue but they do not know the exact cause or solution. Customers have had their systems reset and even had the screen replaced and the issue still occurs. This issue has been present in my vehicle for at least 3 months but has progressively gotten worse overtime to the point that driving the vehicle is intolerable as it distracts me while I'm driving and causes a great amount of frustration which also effects my driving behavior.

53 Equipment problem of the 2013 Honda Accord

54 Equipment problem of the 2017 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/01/2025

The abs/vsa module system malfunctioned/failed. Based on information on online forums and the independent service center I utilized…this has happened before with the 9th generation Honda Accords. As a result, there were issues with acceleration and, in particular, braking which created safety hazard. There were warning lights that went on and off at various times (inconsistently) which first appeared 2 months ago.

55 Equipment problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

56 Equipment problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/01/2025

Backup camera has purple and green distortion that makes it hard to see what’s behind the vehicle when trying to backup. This is a permanent problem that can be inspected upon request. It involves a risk to myself and others by possibly causing injury or property damage. Asked dealership about it and they said it’s common issue and I would need a new camera. Not sure what caused it. It just happened one day and has been like that ever since for about 1 month. Contacted Honda headquarters and they said they couldn’t do anything since there’s no recall with my VIN associated with it. Even a google search shows that there are too many others experiencing the same issue that this should be covered by a recall. It’s very dangerous to allow it to stay like this.

57 Equipment problem of the 2017 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/31/2025

Honda service bulletin 21-018 extends the warranty on 2018-2020 Honda Accords for the a/c condenser to 10 years from the original date of purchase with unlimited miles. This afternoon, I paid over $1,700 to the dealer for a fully diagnosed and repaired condenser replacement. Given the near-identical failure mechanism and that the faulty condensers in question are likely from the same production-era manufacturing process, I respectfully request that Honda consider extending the same 10-year, unlimited-mileage warranty coverage to affected 2017 Accord models.

58 Equipment problem of the 2016 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/29/2025

As soon as I turn on the car there is unbearably loud static and cracking noise coming from out of the car speakers even though the car audio system is turned off. I am not sure what or why the sound is coming by itself. I repeat, the car audio system is turned off and yet there is a constant loud non stop static and cracking noise coming from all of the speakers.

60 Equipment problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/28/2025

I was traveling at 55mph when the car lost power on the freeway. I had to make my way to the shoulder. I could only travel 10mph. I had the car inspected by an independent mechanic and Honda dealership. I was told it was the head gasket. I am told by Honda it will cost $5500 to fix. I did some research on this issue and found it to be a design flaw due to the channels that are put in the engine block to pass coolant. I found this is a prevalent and Honda did confirm it. Honda denied helping to fix the car and even though they know about the issue. We purchased this car brand new in 2018 and we thought we had a reliable vehicle with Honda's reputation. Honda's good will program did not accept the case either.

61 Equipment problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/25/2025

This is regarding TSB 21-087, warranty extension for 2018 Accord paint b-757p still night pearl. I was not informed in writing as per required customer notification in 2001. The extended warranty was for 7 years from date of purchase with no mileage limit. When I noticed the paint peel on the roof seams on the left side and right side of the roof, I asked the local dealership today on 7/25/2025. They said I was a few weeks past the expiration date and I had to contact american Honda. While at the dealership getting maintenance performed, I contacted them via chat and they directed me to call instead. I called Honda and they said once the expiration date has passed, there was nothing to be done. I asked for good will and she declined. They will not provide email of incident, as per my request, from discussion but did open case and assigned a case number. Honda stated my only recourse was to pay for damage out of my pocket or wait to see if Honda will possibly extend the warranty and that it was my responsibility to contact them since they will not provide any notification again. So, my vehicle will continue to rust from the paint peel on the roof on a daily basis in the florida sun. Or I have the option to pay out of pocket now and, if warranty extension approved request reimbursement.

62 Equipment problem of the 2019 Honda Accord

When the car is in reverse the reverse camera displays what looks like high contrast has been applied. It has a rainbow colors and the picture gets very distorted, especially when its night time or when the camera is facing the sun. It's extremely difficult to see pedestrians or oncoming cars.

63 Equipment problem of the 2016 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/22/2025

I am writing to bring urgent attention to a significant and concerning issue affecting the 2016 Honda Accord, specifically the audio head unit, which is causing severe static noise through the vehicle's speakers. This issue poses a serious safety risk to drivers, passengers, and others on the road, and I believe it warrants immediate action, including a formal recall. The static noise occurs regardless of whether the audio system is on or off. This interference compromises the ability to clearly hear essential sounds while driving, including emergency vehicle sirens, honking, and other important auditory cues that are vital for safe driving. The loud, distracting static significantly reduces the ability to focus on the road and may cause delayed responses to critical situations, including traffic accidents, pedestrian crossings, and other road hazards. Safety concerns include but are not limited to the following: inability to hear emergency alerts such as sirens and horns which could result in delayed or incorrect reactions when an ambulance, fire truck, or police vehicle is approaching, potentially leading to dangerous situations where first responders are unable to get through traffic quickly or safely, distracted driving, reducing ability to focus on the driving task, and ability to hear other critical sounds, such as tire issues (like a flat or blowout), or the sound of other cars around you, and can medically affect hearing of drivers. Given the severity of these issues, I urge an investigation to this matter thoroughly and issue a recall for the affected 2016 Honda Accord models and other year models that are affected. This would ensure the safety of drivers, passengers, and others on the road. Addressing this problem promptly will not only safeguard lives but also demonstrate a commitment to consumer safety and quality. I appreciate your attention to this urgent matter and trust that the necessary steps will be taken to resolve it as soon as possible.

64 Equipment problem of the 2020 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/20/2025

Emissions system problems see dealer light came on took to autozone reading stated turbocharger but light went off. Later all warning lights came on so took to dealership they advised turbocharger as well. After for weeks no light no longer on. More recently emissions system problems light started coming on and off, but this time it will go days without being on then will turn on or it can be on when I first start driving then later it's no longer on. I also had issue with all lights coming on again went to autozone got brake fluid since it was low and they went off. I feel it maybe issue of faulty sensory due to fact car drives fine and light doesn't stay on consistently. I also see Honda currently has proposed class actions for defected turbochargers so wonder if that issue with my car.

65 Equipment problem of the 2020 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/17/2025

Subject: request for recall due to persistent dashboard warnings and engine malfunction dear [manufacturer Honda] / NHTSA, I am writing to formally report a serious issue with my vehicle. All of the warning lights on the dashboard remain illuminated and do not turn off. Additionally, the vehicle occasionally becomes undriveable, unable to accelerate beyond 5 miles per hour. I was informed that the problem is related to the engine. I brought the car to a dealership for inspection, but they refused to repair the issue because the vehicle had just passed 40,000 miles. They stated that the warranty no longer covers the repair, despite the severity of the malfunction. After doing research and speaking with other vehicle owners, I have learned that this issue is not unique to my car. It appears to be a widespread problem affecting many vehicles of the same make and model across the united states. Given the safety risks and the number of affected vehicles, I kindly request that you investigate this matter thoroughly and consider issuing a recall. Owners should not be left responsible for costly repairs when the problem is clearly a recurring defect. Thank you for your time and attention.

66 Equipment problem of the 2020 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/15/2025

When the fuel tank was at 1/4 full/empty, the car started stalling on the highway. We were able to go to a gas station and filled the gas tank. The problem was gone. We went to our mechanic but he could not find the problem. A few day's later the gas tank was 1/2 full/empty and the same problem happened. We filled it up and the problem was gone. We went back to our shop and the mechanic did a diag but didn't find any fault codes. He advised to go to the Honda dealer to take a look at it.

68 Equipment problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/14/2025

On July 14, 2025, our 2025 Honda Accord was serviced at hall Honda virginia beach for a tpms warning. The repair was marked complete under warranty by 12:24 pm. We picked up the car [xxx] at 7:30 am. By 4:32 pm, the passenger-side tire catastrophically failed no tpms alert, no impact, no pothole, just sudden sidewall rupture. This was not a minor issue; it was a failure of a federally mandated safety system. Had it occurred at highway speed, it could have resulted in wrongful death due to service negligence. We towed the car back that night (visit #2). The next morning, advisor tito blamed “you must have hit something. ” he then offered to replace the rim and tire under warranty and gave us two options a fast repair or a “proper” 3-day one. Framing a potentially fatal failure as a customer convenience choice is reckless. We picked the car up again July 21. On [xxx] at 3 pm, the tpms failed again this time throwing a calibration warning. This was visit #3. I returned to ask why it failed again. Tito grew defensive and again blamed us for the initial tire failure. I wasn’t there for that I was reporting a second failure of the same safety system. There was no concern shown that the car had been returned unsafe multiple times. No apology, no accountability just blame deflection and hostility. As of July 25, the tpms still does not work. A fourth visit is now required. This is a repeat failure of a safety-critical system required under fmvss 138, mishandled with negligence and denial. It is only luck—not competence—that prevented serious harm or death. For full documentation and timeline, see my public review: [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

69 Equipment problem of the 2016 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/12/2025

Loud, pulsing, static sound from the car speakers. I was driving home after purchasing this car and an impossibly loud static sound came from the speakers even though the audio unit was powered off. I thought I had been hit by a truck and went off the road. There was some damage to the body and the underside of the car, but I was able to drive it back home. I pulled the fuse for the radio thinking that was the problem, but the sound returned, still blasting static from the speakers and now my side cameras and blind spot warnings do not work. This is not just an annoying problem, it is a serious safety issue. Even when I am driving with hearing protection the noise drowns out all other traffic sounds. This static is full volume, measured at 90 dba on a calibrated radio shack 33-2055 sound level meter. I can't drive the car because of the hearing damage, and because of the intermittent nature of the problem, it can surprise you and cause a crash. It is the most distracting thing I have ever had to deal with while driving a car.

70 Equipment problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/09/2025

I was sitting at a red light in my 2025 Honda Accord sport that I bought brand new about six months ago when I heard a loud explosion and saw a piece of glass fall on my windshield. I could then hear glass cracking over my head. I got out my vehicle and observed the moon roof glass to be completed shattered. I drove straight to the Honda service center where I purchased the vehicle and was told that is was most likely due to heat. The mechanic advised he has the same vehicle and the same thing happened to him. Then I was told that I would have to go through my insurance because that isn't covered by their warranty. Currently waiting to hear back from the manager. Clearly this was caused by a defect and should be corrected by Honda.
