On Saturday, may 24, 2025. I had my foot on the break as I was turning into the driveway of the building. Suddenly the car engine reved and the car acceletated toward the building wall. As this was happening I began to pump on the break and the car only stopped because it it hit the curb. This cause my passenger and me to lunge forward. My passenger hurt their wrist putting their hands on the dash as they braced for impact and I hit my forehead on the stearing wheel. . The airbags did not deploy. My cars front bumper was pushed in at the bottom and out on the right side. Thank god there was no one walking on the side walk,. The car could have crashed iinto a person or the building. There were no warning indicators . There was no police called since no one was seriously injured and the only damage done was to my car. I then carfully and slowly drove the car home and parked it. I had to wait till Tuesday to take the car to the mechanic. He kept it for 2 days and could not find anything wrong. This was very scary and I am afraid the continue driving this car. This had never happenef before. I would like the car checked for any recalls and inspected by the dealer.

All warning lights turned on about 9. Emissions system problem, transmission system problem, brake system problem, brake hold system problem, power steering system (eps) problem, vehicle stability assist (vsa) problem, hill start assist problem, road departure mitigation system problem, blind spot info system problem. Steering becomes really difficult, reverse and forward gives out and really hard to control vehicle. Not able to accelerate. This problem happened out of nowhere no issues prior to the lights coming on took it to Honda they said there was no problem and they had not experienced this problem before. This is about the fourth time this happens now did my research and other owners of similar vehicles have the same issues.

Vehicle start up diagnostics show multiple failures, including abs, e-steering, emergency braking, adaptive speed control. Dealership found a problem with the right rear abs sensor. The sensor wire harness was severed. The harness showed damage in multiple places (see photos). Besides being severed, it showed another deep cut and a place where the outer plastic sheath was cut away. The loss of abs sensor made the vehicle exhibit poor handling including braking. The vehicle has only 4000 miles and is in pristine condition with no damage.

I have a 2023 Honda Odyssey van. The van has been modified for me to drive from my wheelchair. The steering wheel has been locking up eight times when driving. It won’t out let me go straight or turn left or right. This happens when I come to a stop. It happened twice when driving. The wheelchair modifications company southern mobility said they fixed many times but it still have the steering wheel lock up. Now they are telling me it’s the Honda’s fault. Honda said it’s the van modification fault. Honda said they can look at it for $150 a hour. I am very frustrated and very concerned. I am in a wheelchair, my daughter is in a wheelchair, and I need to take my mom to dr appointments. I feel like my life is in despair l.

The contact owns a 2023 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while driving at 60 mph and attempting to make a left turn, there was an abnormal clicking noise coming from the vehicle. The contact mentioned the failure would be present when making a left turn when driving at any speed. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer on several occasions where the failure was not determined due to being unable to be replicated. On a most recent occasion, the vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where it was diagnosed that the driver-side strut failed and as a result both the driver and passenger side struts needed replacement. The vehicle was not repaired due to costs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed that the vehicle was out of warranty but offered a discount. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.
The contact owns a 2012 Honda Odyssey equipped with cooper tires, tire line: cs5 grand touring, tire size: p235/65/r17, dot number: (n/a). The contact stated while driving 70 mph, the vehicle started to vibrate abnormally. The driver was able to pull over safely and became aware of a blowout of the front passenger’s side tire. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph, there was an abnormal vibration in the steering wheel. The vehicle was taken to a tire center where it was determined that the failure was linked to a busted tire core. The damaged tire and driver's side rear tire were replaced. The contact stated that while continuing to drive, the steering wheel and the vehicle continued to vibrate. The vehicle was taken to a tire center, where it was determined that the driver's side front tire had a shifted radial belt, and a bulge was detected. The tire was replaced. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 79,694. We have had repeated incidents with the vehicle since late 2023. The vehicle begins to jump and a long and seemingly random list of dashboard indicators turns on. When we first sent the vehicle in for diagnosis they could not replicate the issue, dealt with a seatbelt related safety recall and "reset the computer". This decreased the incidence of the issue temporarily. All routine maintenance has been performed on the vehicle. The battery has been replaced twice because that was the best guess of what was causing the previous issue. A few months later, the issue started again. Random indicators, sometimes power steering, sometimes temperature gauge, sometimes othes lights in rapid succession. We again took the vehicle to dealership of purchase and they were unable to replicate the issue (and unable to deal with a fuel pump issue with a multi-month backlog for the part). Finally, while driving on the interstate today the vehicle began to lurch repeatedly and the random list of seemingly every indicator lit up again (see photo), including the power steering failing. The vehicle is completely inoperable and was towed to the dealership.
Failure of multi purpose camera resulting in inoperable adaptive cruise control (or any cruise control), lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, road departure mitigation, collision mitigation braking system.
The steering wheel makes a noise when turning, you can also feel the steering wheel popping/clunking when going into turns with bumps. There was a recall for the Honda Odyssey back in March of 2024 for this issue but my vehicle was not part of it, however I believe the issue lies with the steering gear box/steering column. I have taken my vehicle into Honda 6 times (5 times attached and currently it is there) and have not been able to get anywhere, they lubricated the steering shaft which alleviated the noise but 6 months later it came back. This noise started back in January of 2023.
Was driving to work while raining. Hit a water puddle hydroplaned, the stop brake warning light came, vehiical slammed on the brakes, and the steering wheel locked up. There where not other vehicals on the road. Rolled the vehical 3 times. On several occasions our Honda van has slammed on the brakes without any vehicle or obstacle present.
I was involved in a traffic collision on December 15, 2023. The California dmv requires a brake and light inspection for a salvage retention reregistration of my car. After going to two brake and light shops they will not perform a brake and light inspection due to a recall p30 04v-176. I went to a Honda dealer to get the recall fixed and they said they cannot or will not perform the recall as it is not needed. Please let me know what I can do to fix this issue as I don’t see what and why the brake and light inspections cannot be done and I need them completed.

The electrical system has some weird glitch where it will shut down all the displays and more. The nav display as well as the speedometer area will shut down and restart. I will receive warning lights that many systems like the lane keeping assistant and accident braking mitigation systems are offline. Sometimes it will kill the engine too. This is very disturbing and unsafe to happen when driving. It could cause an accident on its own and also negates the extra safety features like lkas added to make the van safer to drive. The problem was assessed by Honda and they said they could not find an issue originally. There were no codes. Now I am getting more problems and warnings. The dash now tells me "engine management system malfunction". Honda reset this since they could not find a service code. It came back within a week and then my power steering started messing up. It seemed to be when the system was overloaded by going into reverse and switching to the backup camera. The power steering would lurch and stutter. This is very concerning to go out while driving. The final straw is now my high-pressure fuel pump has gone out causing a loud noise under the hood. My vehicle only has 120,000 which I feel is not that old for a Honda. Honda has the van today and wants $1200 to swap out the fuel pump and now they say the "power distribution module" is causing all the electrical problems which is another $700. My question is this all connected to the same electrical issue? note: I have a suspicion that the problems are worse when the car gets too much stimulus in the electrical system. Sometimes it seems like the sun at the right angle blinds the front cameras and the system freaks out. Also, changing to reverse and activating the backup camera tends to cause the problem. Possibly even adding devices with carplay could exacerbate it.
On several occasions (roughly 5 separate and unique incidents), the vehicle put itself into neutral (n) while driving. There are instances when the vehicle was in motion and others when it is at a stop. The screens in the dashboard cluster and in the center of the front dashboard go blank momentarily and the transmission changes from drive (d) to neutral (n) without any apparent cause or any warning whatsoever. The power steering is also resetting, causing the steering to momentarily become much more stiff and harder to turn. It’s currently at the dealer undergoing inspection and repair, but the fact that this is causing a safety issue that makes the vehicle undriveable while at any speed without warning is a serious safety issue.
2015 Honda Odyssey steering rack leaked while driving vehicle on the highway and front lower control arm bushing broke due to age of the vehicle. Honda dealer has suggested not to drive vehicle until steering rack is replaced/fixed. Honda dealer has warned as it is safety hazard to other vehicles on the road. Vehicle component was inspected by Honda dealer and has recommended to replace steering rack as it is leaking. There were no warning lamps, message or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. It was diagnosed by Honda dealer during multipoint inspection.

The original tires on this car needed to be changed around 20k miles. I asked the dealer to align it in 2021 after getting new tires. I barely put 8k miles per year on this minivan. Recently when I went for a rotation I was told that they are wearing unevenly. I went to get an alignment and was told that the rear driver camber was out of spec and the rear passenger toe was out of spec. The problem is that you are unable to make those adjustments on the rear. This means that it came like this out of the factory and is rapidly wearing tires on the vehicles. I did a search online and found other people from 2019 model years who experience this issue. I had the knuckle on the passenger side replaced for $900. But then found out about the drivers side toe being out of spec. I find this abominable that the car came from the factory out of spec in the steering/suspension. There's no way I could have hit something hard enough to knock it out of spec without there being other damage to the car. I would like Honda to reimburse me the cost and to fix the steering knuckle for the rear drivers side. I also would like a safety notice issued to people that their tires may wear rapidly due to inability to adjust camber/toe on the rear. I only noticed now when I go to get the tires aligned. Its been 5 years I had the car.
On Monday, March 27th while driving at various speeds, the collision mitigation system message flashed on the instrument panel without anything provoking it/no real cause. I observed while driving the vehicle, the warning message repeatedly flashed on the screen before the entire instrument panel went blank. This includes the infotainment system restarting as well, alternatively, I was driving going between 40-60mph and the all-dashboard notification lights started flickering (lane departure warning, odometer, blind spot warning, collision mitigation system etc. ) it continues to happen randomly while driving at unpredictable times the wheel does lock up for a short time and the vehicle is temporarily not under driver control. It was able to restore, and I was able to regain control of the vehicle other times its last for several seconds. I have captured this incident on video. Additionally, there is also an issue with the vehicle hesitating while accelerating from a stop even with auto stop disengaged. On Thursday, June 1st same issue as described above occurred at 8:10am when issue occurred again the vehicle steering for a 5-8 second period was locked and not able to move. Shortly after, I began to record the vehicle. Within a 7-8 minute period I was able to capture on video it happening an additional 3 times.
Ran a code tester and everything from recalls are popping up.

The problems occurred to a brand new 2023 Odyssey only few days (roughly 8 days) after purchase. I was driving the vehicle on road in my community, I came to a stop sign and stopped, then I was about to turn right but found it was kind of difficult to turn, at same time I heard the sound of crack coming from underneath the steering wheel. I felt that I almost lost control of the vehicle if I did stop at stop sign, anyway I was able to turn the vehicle as the speed was low and continued to drive slowly. Shortly, several warning icons lighted up on dashboard, including "auto engine idle stop system problem", "lane keeping assist problem", "adaptive cruise control problem", "charging system problem". After that, I drove the vehicle to dealer as soon as I can and dropped the vehicle for diagnosis and repair. It has been 6 days since the vehicle was dropped at dealer and has not been repaired, I got email from service manager saying that the gauge control module was fault.
I always do a full undercarriage inspection of new vehicles we purchase, even though I am in my 60's. When inspecting this new Odyssey there was unusual amounts of rusting throughout both front wheel hubs. This also was a problem on our 2014 Honda cr-v we also purchased new. They require a coating on them for brake and steering systems safety. When this rust spreads to brake and steering mechanisms mounted to these hubs. . . . Big issues.
My Honda Odyssey 2018 has a problem that sometimes, particularly during winter, that a lot of check lights are on, and sometimes the car starts to slide. The check lights may include the check engine light, the power steering light, the power brake light, and the transmission light. An independent mechanic determined that this is addressed by the Honda service bulletin 20-100, but Honda service representative denies a warranty coverage as they say the VIN is not in the range even when the model, make, and the diagnosis all matches (Honda service representative: case # 13664638, valerie).
All the warning lights came on, including brakes, power steering, lane keeping assistance, lane departure warning, and others, indicating the car should be stopped immediately regardless of traffic or conditions. I do not know if the functions were also impaired or if was simply false alarms. I understand this is typical of this auromobile.
Twice during the last year, the bolt securing the drive belt tensioner has broken while driving the vehicle. This results in loss of steering, electrical, and cooling of the engine. The first time the incident occurred on a stretch of rural highway where the lone occupant had to wait for help to arrive. The first date was on may 12, 2022. The second incident took place in an urban area on January 25, 2023. But, with only 8 months in between the incidents, it is apparent there is a problem in this. The original repair in may was accomplished by a Honda dealer.

The radio goes out on my van and the van shifts into neutral while I'm driving. This has been going on for months I've had it to the Honda dealership twice this last time thay said the only thing they could come up with is that the alternator is losing power but alternator is on back order until June and still no guarantee this will fix the problem since none of there test showed up anything other then they were able to get it to go into neutral for them while they were driving it.
While driving at various speeds, my vehicle will intermittently brake without warning on its own. The brake warning symbol will flash on the instrument panel and the steering wheel shakes. The surprise and unexpected braking caused me alarm as well as my passengers who did not understand why the vehicle suddenly braked for no apparent reason. I have experienced this multiple times while driving. Most recently, we were exiting the freeway and moved into the exit lane. There was no car directly in front of me but the car suddenly braked scaring us all.
Problem is the bolt that holds serpentine belt tensioner on has broken on twice in the last year. Why I am reporting this because the last time it broke I almost had a head on collision on 2 lane road belt broke as I was going around turn lost control of my steering barley missing the on coming vehicle and ditch on opposite side of rode. Ps this must have happen before I bought the vehicle because the bolt I removed that broke off was numeber 12 strength which could not find on internet to replace the bolt Honda uses is a #10 strength.
May 2, 2022 - while driving home one evening, my check engine light came on, flashing. I was able to get into my neighborhood and once I got on my street, the front of the car started shaking violently. I made it into my driveway. This was very distressing and frightening. Scheduled a tow through usaa mobile app for next morning to be taken to Honda. There is way more detail - can't paste all here. July 9, 2022 - at approx 10am, we left our vacation rental and started the drive home to ms. My check engine light came on and started flashing again. I made it to the middle of the island and met my husband. I was visibly shaken because I knew this was a serious issue. I had three kids and a 175lb dog in my van, along with half of our belongings. If I had gone a few miles or two more, I would have been stranded on a four-mile bridge. I had driven my car frequently while we were on the island (2 weeks) and there were no issues - until this day. - again, I have way more information on this - cannot paste it all here.

In September 2021, I started occasionally receiving the error message "collision mitigation system problem" on my dashboard. It would appear and quickly disappear. At that time, my car shut itself off when I came to a full stop at traffic lights and stop signs 3 different times. The car would boot back up, but it happened to me in the middle of intersections. I took the vehicle into the dealership and they told me it was the battery. I had the battery replaced, but with time, the "collision mitigation system" error reappeared along with other messages, "engine management system problem" and "road departure mitigation problem. " during this time, my car would brake on its own occasionally, happening 6 times in total, when there was no threat of a head-on collision. Three of these incidents happened in the middle of intersections with cars all around me and in one instance, my car come to a screeching halt on its own making me terrified that the car behind me was going to crash into me. The last straw was as I was driving to my child's school and when I came to a curve in the road, my steering locked up completely, not allowing me to turn with the curve. I was able to slam on my brakes and keep myself from crashing, but it was very dangerous. At the same time, the same error messages were flooding my dashboard. That is when I drove my just 3 year old car back into the Honda dealership and told them they must fix this before I put my child back into that car, and my car still sits there. The dealership informed me that my collision assistance camera that is integral to the Honda sensing safety mechanisms is "faulty" and will cost me $1,500-$1,700 to repair. I see online that this is being investigated in 2017-2019 Honda crvs and 2018-2019 Honda accords sedans. I implore you to also investigate this same system error in 2019 Honda Odysseys. The Odyssey is a family car, but yet I am now scared to drive my family in this vehicle for fear of it causing a collision.
One main problem I have consistently noticed is signs someone other than me is getting in my car or leaving at least impression they did inside the car alot although I am the only one supposed to have a key. It was happening so much I paid lafontaine Honda more than $1000 to change out the keys including the ignition but that hasnt resolved the problem. I still see normal evidence they are actually touching things inside my car and even stealing alot of fuel which they took so much last night it was ridiculous. I keep sending my local police reports and photos of as much as I can using the tipline and they never contact me back like they either ignoring, staying anonymous, or have no time to read my messages. They fuel is being stolen everytime I fill the tank by someone nearbye. The next issue is that there is a malfunction clearly feels like it is inside the steering wheel mechanics and not my tires that something or one is overriding the steering when I am on the freeway and highway jerking me in the direction of other vehicles when they start passing me like they trying to make them think I am threatening to hit them or threatening me to cause a collision. Exactly how it feels. They were even doing it to lyrics in the music while I was driving alot the whole trip there and back. The car seems very insecure. I see also that other people in like models cars locally are popping up on me like they have a gps on me and that is threatening. The steering wheels ignition switch was checked and I told them of the intrusion problems but they offered me no solution. Insurance is not helping me with repairs of anything and wont even offer me an option to get me discounts on car repairs or inspection help. I cant even report that type of stuff. Police also wont inspect a car but sends me away to a mechanic all the time. I think the previous owner may have modded a bunch of the parts but it is my car and should only be responding to me. Not others.
