Engine Shut Off Without Warning Problems of Jeep Wrangler - part 2

Running vehicle at highway speed (60 mph), vehicle shut down immediately, leading to loss in steering and braking. Engine rpm's went to zero. About 4 seconds later, vehicle started back up at normal operating rpm's for speed and gear selection (6 th gear, 60 mph, 2600 rpm).

The 2007 Jeep Wrangler unlimited x, otherwise known as the jk, lost engine power twice while driving 55 mph, and the electrical and engine shut off for 3-5 seconds and came back on. The electronic throttle for the gas pedal went into the default mode, where it won't go over 45 mph ,and the traction control shut off at this time also. This happened while driving at 55-60 mph. Also, the compass shut off also at a different time. Each time I had to pull off the road and restart the Jeep , and every thing worked again.

While traveling with the cruise control engaged, as I was ascending a turn on a steep grade, the transmission downshifted from 4th to 2nd gear abruptly. When this occurred, the esp light on the dash lit up and the engine shut off. I pulled off the freeway to check under the hood, but didn't see anything wrong. I re-started the engine and everything was fine. Took it to the dealer when I returned home from the trip and they checked the ecu and no warnings came up.

(1)driving highway speeds, 45-65 usually. (2)engine shuts down, lose power to everything, ie power brakes, power steering, then starts back up after several seconds (3) one dealer said its not an issue, the other "update" the computer, still didn't fix the issue.

The contact owns a 2004 Jeep Wrangler. While driving at various speeds, the vehicle shuts off and restarts on its own. When the engine shuts off, the vehicle completely loses power. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test, but the computer did not register the failure. The vehicle has been to the dealer approximately five times. The current mileage was 21,492 and the failure mileage was unavailable.

While driving in heavy traffic at highway speeds vehicle will shutdown without warning, cause unknown. Dealer cannot identify the problem . Please give any further details.
