Engine Belts And Pulleys Problems of Kia Motor Soul

Contract 100k miles/10 years. Current mileage 92388. Still within warranty contract. While driving, 12/6/2020, my car stopped running after a brief warning on the dash. Check engine and oil light came on. Within a few minutes, I heard a noise, and the engine shut down. There were no oil leaks or any fluids under the car. I towed the car home. I towed to ray brandt kia in harvey la 12/7/20. A month later, I was told the engine failed. By 1/4/21, I was asked for permission to tear down the engine for inspection. 1/8/21 brian murray,svc mgr. Said valve cover to be removed for inspection. Fidelity warranty/ray brandt kia approved repairs ro101874. Per vicky, the inspector directed the timing belt replacement. On 1/13/21, test runs done to see if it fixed the problem but no compression. No action taken on recall 20v750. Per vicky, ray brandt recommended replacing the engine. Used engine found for replacement with approx. 42k miles. Per vicky at ray brandt svc dept. I received recall letter dated 1/25/21 by mail. Called vicky about recall. She confirmed it on her computer. Ray brandt called days later to say fidelity denied my claim. They stopped all repairs. Told I had to call fidelity for documentation. Called but no response. After sending a certified letter 3/9 to legal. Nancy beausejour called. She sent a reply dated 4/7. First two inspections reveal oil and other fluids are good and no sludge in the engine. This was prior to two more inspections with different conclusions. Final inspection show engine warped. Due to ignoring the recall, no action on service department recommendations and test runs without repairs, the engine warped. Before this failure, I had no engine overheating. Since 4/22/21, after 5 calls to kia consumer assistance ctr. ,called. May 12, 2021.

I was driving. I came to a red light. The light turned green. The car in front of me went. I pushed on gas. The person n front of me hit brakes. I hit my brakes, felt a huge jolt. Car accelerated and was not braking. I slammed into the back of vehicle. I was wearing a seltbelt, but my knees slammed into dashboard. Air bags did not go off which everyone was surprised by this. I ended at hospital with a concussion, injuries to my knees, right ankle. . Etc my 2014 kia Soul has been determined to be totalled. I have contacted you previously stating my vehicle had issues that were a safety hazard. I was told to keep checking for my VIN to get added to a recall list. Now this has happened. I was admitted to hospital as well.

Crankshaft pulley bolt broke causing damage to the engine.

I get regular oil changes on my car. Had one done 30 days ago. Found out this morning the car was without oil but showed no signs of a leak, fumes, burning of oil. Nothing!!! was doing 55 mph on the highway when it simply died. The gas peddle tightened up and the car turned off. No warning lights. Upon starting it I noticed a baseball card in the wheel of a bike noise. I thought my belt was going bad. Not the case. After stalling out on the highway I had to have it towed to a shop. They diagnosed that there is a destroyed bearing in the engine due to it loosing all of its oil. They told me that a fire could have happened due to this issue. They have informed me I need a new engine and the car is not drive-able. I just bought it 7 months ago. The warranty is up. And I'm going to make payments on a car I can't drive. 2014 kia Soul with a 2. 0 engine.

Tl the contact owns a 2013 kia Soul. The contact stated that the vehicle was serviced per NHTSA campaign number: 19v120000 (engine and engine cooling) at kia of meridian (1219 ms-39 bypass, meridian, ms 39301). After the repair, the vehicle hesitated when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, but the cause of the failure was undetermined. The vehicle was also taken to wilson kia (4204 lakeland dr, jackson, ms 39232). The vehicle was not diagnosed; however, the dealer stated that the recall update was the cause of the failure. The dealer changed the spark plugs, drive belt, and fuel injection service, but the failure continued. The contact stated that the failure was not occurring prior to the recall remedy. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 101,832.

First 2 times car didn't start on initial try, car started, tach dial wasn't functioning and car didn't want to go more than 25 mph. Car taken to kia where they said car was fine but needed fuel inhectors cleaned and a serpentine belt. 2 weeks later car stalls at stop light, tach dial not functioning and car doesn't want to accelerate past 25 mph. Called kia they were closing and would call back, never did. 1 week later at stop light again and car stalls, restart, tach dial not functioning, car doesn't want to accelerate again. Taken to kia where scanner was put on and stated all was fine, even though the tach still was not functioning. Shut car off and restarted and all was fine. . . . .

The engine has issues that have caused the timing belt to be off. Causeing the vehicle to not work.

As I started the vehicle in the morning I heard what seem to be belt noises. As I drove to work, the noises increased to the point where the car was shaking and decelerated. When I arrived at my workplace 5 miles later, the oil light came on. The car would not drive past 2-5 mph. I called the kia service and car was towed to dealer. Dealer stated engine is no longer usable, but so far refused to fix because I don't have proof of oil changes by a dealer.
