Tl the contact owns a 2015 kia Soul. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving approximately 20 mph, there was an abnormal ticking sound coming from the vehicle. The driver pulled off the road and noticed there was no oil in the engine. The oil level warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to rick case kia (14500 w sunrise blvd, sunrise, FL 33323, (954) 715-7580) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but declined to repair the vehcile. The contact stated the failure was like NHTSA campaign number 19v120000 (engine, engine and engine cooling) for which the VIN was included. The failure mileage was approximately 83,000.

The engine is making a ticking noise and the steering wheel is clicking when I turned the steering wheel also had 3 open recalls. Took it to all star kia in san bernardino for 3 recalls and they refused to work on the vehicle because they said they were not comfortable working on the car, they also stated that the ticking sound was not related to the recall even though I told them I saw on the NHTSA website that due to catalytic coverter overheating it could cause rod knock. I even told them the recall was sc176.

Two major issues. I have heard a very loud ticking sound coming from the engine which started about three days ago. Before then the car ran silent. Car is it approximately 8000 miles on the odometer. The clicking started getting louder and then the car stalled twice right in the middle of driving! one was on a street going about 45 miles an hour! the otherwas on a side street going approximately 25 miles an hour. The ec OH mode was on in the car. Also� when you turn on the heater fan on high it started making a high-pitched squealing sound. The car is at the dealership right now as it will not work properly.

The engine made a popping sound and burst into flames.

At 10k miles the vehicle shut off multiple times with no warning or dummy lights right after I slowed and made a turn. Oil change was scheduled for the following week. Took vehicle in and was almost out of oil. At 13,400 miles vehicle started making loud ticking noise and was not properly accelerating. Each time I had slowed to make a turn and when I attempted to accelerate, the rpm would go up, but the vehicle did not go as if it was in neutral. Took it to the dealership and they said there was no oil on the dipstick. They started an oil consumption test and said the acceleration issue was due to lack of oil. 5 days and 200 miles later I took it back to the dealership because it was making the loud noise again from the engine and also not accelerating properly. They test drove it and said there was nothing wrong and to come back in 300 more miles. This vehicle is not safe to drive 300 more miles due to the acceleration issues. I called kia corporate and they said the dealership knows best. I am fearful of driving it because it has already almost caused an accident once.

Are 2015 kia Soul had close to 100,000 miles on it and we started to have low loss of oil and a light clicking sound. We did not think very much of this. There was no oil leaking and so signs of oil burning through the exhaust. We continued to check oil and keep it full but it seemed to be running out faster then it should. One week after putting oil in it we were on the interstate and loss power and started hearing a loud knocking. The engine is dead and needs replaced. Our car is not under recall and we still have 10,000 dollars left to pay on the car. To replace the car with a new engine is around 5000 dollars. We have no clue what todo but after researching we learned that 2015 kia Soul 2. 0l motors are expensive and in high demand.

Engine began making ticking noises while stationary and while driving and engine check light came on. Took it to dealer; dealer changed oil & filter and said problem was bad oil filter causing low oil pressure. Engine check light came on again a few weeks later. Returned to dealer; technician has found metal shavings in the oil and expects complete engine failure in the future.

While driving I hear a popping sound -- thinking that I rolled over something with my tire but that's not it then my car starts smoking in the front and my windshield gets fogged up I use the defroster to try to clear my window but the smoke keeps coming up from the front . This happens anytime driving, parking, highway, city streets or just sitting at a light and I park in the garage I don't park on the street. This has happened on numerous occasions I already had the purge valve replaced.

My vehicle has the 2. 0l motor that is subject to many other recalls and issues but yet not on the radar of the authorities. I've only had this car for less than 10 months and approximately 20,000 highway miles, and just outside the warranty period.

Tl- the contact owned a 2012 kia Soul. The contact stated that while her daughter was stopped at an intersection, the vehicle began to make an abnormal, ticking sound without warning. As the contact's daughter attempted to accelerate, the vehicle stalled also without warning. Upon restart of the engine, the contact's daughter was alerted by a fellow motorist that her vehicle had caught on fire(fire origin unknown). The contact's daughter immediately exited the vehicle and called for assistance. The fire department arrived at the scene and the fire was extinguished. The contact's mother believed that a fire report was filed but was not certain; no injuries were suffered due to the fire. Due to the fire, the vehicle was destroyed at the scene and towed to an independent tow yard. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that the vehicle was included in NHTSA recall number 19v120 (engine, engine and engine cooling). The contact stated that she was never notified of the recall prior to the failure. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure and the contact was given a case number. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000. Jo.

I was approximately driving 65 mph when suddenly the motor developed a ticking noise. Then suddenly turned into a knocking/clattering noise. My oil light illuminated as well as my engine light. I then proceeded down the high way to the next exit to pull off and check my oil. Before I made it to my exit. The motor had loss of power. When I'd try to accelerate, it would bog down. At 97000 miles the engine began a ticking noise. All fuel and oil levels were appropriate. Less than 2 weeks after that noise began before I could get into a service appointment, I was driving down the highway, the ticking got louder then made a poof noise and the car died. No internal or external lights, nothing. I coasted to the shoulder. I had it towed to a shop where they stated that a rod had come apart and the engine now had a hole in the side and would need to be replaced.

2020 kia Soul purchased in March of 2020. Vehicle started to develop a mild "ticking" noise from the engine compartment that progressively became worse and worse at the end of October 2020. On 10/11/2020, the vehicle developed a considerable grinding/clicking noise from the engine compartment, but was still drivable. We were stopped at a stoplight that afternoon when the vehicle attempted to lurch forward, but was stopped by the brakes being applied. The vehicle made a screeching noise very briefly, and died. Vehicle was not able to be restarted, and had to be pushed to a parking lot. On attempting to restart the vehicle a few minutes later, the engine turned over, made some very considerable grinding noises and shut off again. All dash indicator lights were illuminated. Kia roadside towed to a dealership, and I have not heard from them at all. I have called 2-3 times, and was only told today by a secretary that it appeared the vehicle needs a whole new motor. I still have not been directly communicated with by the service advisor. Had this failure occurred on the freeway at speeds, the end result could have been very different.

The engine blew, leaking oil. Apparently a lifter was making a tapping noise, we were told the engine was unrepairable.

The manufacturer was contacted and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not covered under NHTSA campaign number: 19v120000 (engine, engine and engine cooling). The contact was referred to NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle remained in the possession of the dealer unrepaired. The failure mileage was 56,973.

Owner of 2015 kia Soul+ with 87k miles. I bought this car used with a little over 24k on it. I commute 90 miles a day, highway and city driving. While driving home on 9/11/2020, loud tapping noises began from engine when I turned a corner. I pulled into a auto zone to check oil levels. Oil was not showing on dipstick and no low oil light came on in car. No leaks and no smoking. I purchased 2 quarts of oil and put them in. The next day I I was scheduled for routine oil change and tire rotation. I took it to my regular service provider; kia in lumberton, nc. I asked them numerous questions about where the oil could be going. They said it could be slipping past the seals. I have always gotten oil changes every 3-5k miles. They have started a 1k oil test. Every 1k for 5k, I have to take it back so that they can check the oil level. The service tech told me that I may be looking at engine replacement with some kind of kia forgiveness program, since I am not the original owner and I still owe on this vehicle. I should not be losing 2 quarts of oil from my car every 3-5k miles! my former vehicle had over 200k miles, and I never had to add oil. I have read that other 2015 kia owners have had this same issue. This is a definite problem and there needs to be some kind of recall.

Vehicle has 65,000 miles on it, has been service regularly according to manufacturer recommendations. Noticed ticking noise in engine just prior to most recent oil change. Repair facility noted there was less than 1 quart of oil in engine. No visible oil leaks. No oil temp light indicator. No engine hi temp indicated. Engine is burning approx . 75 quarts of oil per 1000 miles.

Bought 2014 kia Soul on 6/16/20 at 106k miles from Hyundai dealer. Did not drive from 8/8/20 to 8/16/20-car was in a secure location. Driving on highway, made a turn, heard a clunking noise and car stalled and quit w/no restart. Did not see engine light before previously. Towed home, and then to cumberland kia on 9/5/20. Promised a loaner car, but never got one. They said the engine was blown and it would cost $8000 to fix it. Only paid $7500 for the car. Kia would not negotiate. Hyundai tried to work with them as well. Called kia consumer affairs. They asked cumberland kia if they would consider any "good will"-they declined. The whole description of what happened fits the NHTSA recall #19v120-part 573 safety recall report-but the VIN# is not showing a recall. Purchased the car because of clean carfax (see attached). Past services on 3rd owner(puchased at 58k in 2016) were all done at cumberland kia. Hyundai said there were 24 service receipts in the car from cumberland kia. Hyundai had done their service and certification before they sold it to us. The car was clean and in excellent condition, well taken care of. There was no reason for the engine to suddenly blow like that. We need help!.

We were on a 2 lane highway going home. We started up a hill and the car lost power but was fine again after the hill, went up another hill and the car lost power again but this time it started making a clanging noise in the motor. We immediately pulled over. No warning lights at all. My husband who was in another vehicle ahead of us checked everything and found the oil was a little low but it wasn't time for an oil change it had only been a little over 3000 miles and it is always changed before or at 5000 miles. He added oil but the noise was still there. We had the vehicle towed to our mechanic. The mechanic did an inspection and he heard the noise coming from cylinder #3 and he did a compression test and it lost compression. His diagnosis is that the rod in cylinder #3 has broke and we need a new motor. After getting a hold of kia they want us to take it to a kia dealer and pay to have it diagnosed but it will cost us almost $300 and we already paid one certified mechanic, for that which we don't have. The car was bought in September of 2019 with a little over 90,000 miles and just had a little over 100,000 on it. This happened in August of 2020 and the vehicle is just sitting as we make payments on something we can't even drive. We still owe $7700 on the car and a motor will cost almost that amount. After reading all the recalls kia and other vehicles with the same motors have done we are at a loss on why kia isn't replacing the same motor in our vehicle. The representative on the phone even said if we took it to kia and had it diagnosed they still wouldn't guarantee that they would do anything to help. We have taken good care of this vehicle since we bought it and always had the oil changed. We don't know what to do and do not have the money to replace the motor. Please help.

While driving a 2014 kia Soul on the freeway, the engine started to make a sudden and loud popping sound. When exiting the freeway, the vehicle locked up and stalled. It would not start back up. I purchased the vehicle from kia with 27k miles on it. It only has 76k miles on it now. I had it towed to the local kia dealer who diagnosed it as a spun bearing or engine failure. No obvious signs of damage and no leaks. No check engine lights or any other issues prior to engine failure and the oil was just changed within the last month. No stored engine codes or faults.

Car was at 73,000 miles and I had only had it for about a year and during this time I heard a ticking noise, rattling from the engine so I got a oil change. The noise continued and got louder. I have been having issues with the engine of my car. At first it had stalled out a few times, thought maybe it was my battery, so I got a new battery and still was not running right. It would have a hard time accelerating and all the lights on the dashboard came on, had someone look at that knows cars and has worked on them before and that the noise it was making, the clicking noise, was the starter. Well I got a new starter for it and still nothing. It would have a hard time acclerating, would make this clicking, ticking noise when you barely touch the gas pedal. Check engine light would stay on and the oil light would blink. Recently just had the oil change at a shop and they think it is the motor. Well had another person check it out and now they definitely think it is my exhaust camshaft. So now my car has been sitting in the driveway til I can get it fixed.

I was driving my car on the freeway, I got off on my exit. When I came up to the red light my car stalled and shut off. They said they dont know the cause of the problem and would have to tear the engine apart. They recommended I replace with a engine long block and it wouldnt be covered under the recall. Everything described in the recall is exactly what happened when I was driving. Im very lucky I wasnt on the freeway when this occured because I had my 3 young children in the car with me.

When you go to turn on the car it stalls as if the starter does not work after 2 tries it turns on only the rpms does not move and the car shakes very violently so I stop turn the car off and then on and no problem only when at a light or stopped in drive-thru the car will turn off no power you turn it on again and everything is good for a little while then it does the same over and over again. The check engine light goes on and off when I took the car to the kia dealership in pueblo they said it was an old code not to worry yet the car gives me trouble still and makes a weird clicking noise when I turn off.

I was having issues with a prior recall, concerning the catalytic converters and overheating. (potentially leading to a stall / engine fire) I took my car to the shop and was told they had ran the upgrade and my car was mechanically sound. Throughout the following year, I had contacted kia over my car acting strange and not allowing me to accelerate while going down the road on several occasions. The car maxed out between 25-35 mph on major highways 4 times to date. I kept taking it in and they done inspections, the car appeared in good mechanical shape. Exactly 2-3 days after picking my car up, it stalled on me again, resulting in 3 semi trucks almost colliding into me. My speed went from 75mpg down to 30mph on a 70mph interstate. After the upgrade, my engine would randomly start making a chirping sound / ticking sound. Several misfire codes presented themselves throughout this time and yet nothing was found stored in the cars computer. Kia stated it was recall related at one point and when the engine stalled the last round, the engine and car started shuddering down the interstate and now the engine has a loud knocking noise coming from it (threw piston / rod) and kia will not assist in the inspection of this safety recall issue. Kia has had me pay several times for inspections and towing to date. Hundreds of other owners have experienced these problems after they received the ecu logic upgrade and also prior to receiving it. Kia stated they were not exactly sure about my issues and that they have not received any other reports from owners concerning these matters. However, bbb and several online sources can confirm that others have experienced these exact same problems. I almost lost my life on 4 different occasions due to these safety issues. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and confirmed that the failure was not because of the catalytic converter. The contact stated that the failure could be related to NHTSA campaign number: 19v120 (engine, engine and engine cooling). The approximate failure mileage was 103,052.

The car is not accelerating properly and not changing gears correctly and automatically. The check engine light is on and is running several codes. It may be the catalytic converters. I was driving on the highway and my car started putting and no accelerating past 60mph. It makes this loud clicking noise when I try and go faster and also it sounds really loud like a lawn mower.

I am shocked that so many people have had similar complaints and yet kia gets away with no responsibility. We are looking at $ 8,000 for another motor or buying a new car. Neither is a viable option, this car was supposed to last longer than this. Something isn't right.

I went to accelerate after a stop and the car started to go when all of the sudden there was a total loss of power and the entire car shut down. There was no indication that anything was wrong. It made a horrible clattering noise and had very little power. I utilized the manual shifting feature and that helped reduce the noise, but it would get louder as the engine rpms increased. The dealership said there was no oil in the motor, yet it was checked prior to driving and there was oil on the dip stick. The car has about 107,000 miles and needs a total engine replacement. Only after the incident occurred did we see this is a known problem with this make and model of car.
