My engine shakes really bad while sitting idling and I can hear a loud huming noise while driving. I can also smell gas from time to time. My oil was just changed less than three weeks ago and it is already dirty, gritty and dark.

When I accelerate my car makes a loud humming noise and will not shift - then when it finally does shift it fluctuates speed and doesn't maintain speed. It's not safe gettin on the expressway or when you change lanes and try to keep up with traffic around you. At first it would be sometimes. Now it is more constant.

We bought this on 2016 for my daughter at that the car had 20 something thousand miles the car was working great we were doing the oil changes every 2500 miles . Everything was ok until the car got 70000 miles is when the problems started in one time we did the oil change, alright everything was ok one week and half past and my daughter told that her car was doing some weirds noises on the engine so I went outside to check the engine oil level and got surprised because the engine was almost empty I had to add about 21/2 quarts of oil what happened after that is that I was checking the oil level every week finding out that I had to add almost 2 quarts every week and I thought this can't be happening on a car with 70000 miles so did start investigating online ,I found out the this car have a engine problems same thing happening to me but I'm not sure if the existing recall is also related with my problem because the one said something related with catalytic converter that could get overheated and could damage pistons in the engine the recall number is 19v120 . Ok with that information I went to the kia dealership I told them about the recall and they said that they don't have the recall in the system so they can't do nothing about it so I have to wait for the kia notice . The problem is that my car already started to loss power I found out the catalytic converter is clogged and cylinder number 3 misfires . Checking on you tube I found out the kia engineers made a mistake with the pistons they did install short head pistons in the engine and somehow that causing the problems in the engine (don't know what to do )(the man with 2015 kia Soul now with 82000 miles ) you guys can find more complaints like mine in car complaints. As I drove home I heard an unusual sound coming from my engine. The oil pressure light began to flicker on and off. Once home I checked my oil level and I had no oil showing on the dip stick. I filled the oil reservoir with the correct oil type but now the indicator light was solid and no longer flashing. Driving home a few miles after getting oil my vehicle would not accelerate and I almost lost control of steering twice. No smoke was coming from the engine but my vehicle is not safe to drive. I contacted kia customer service with concerns about the current recall on the kia Soul but was told there is no recall on my particular model. Usually I am notified if my vehicle is affected by possible recalls and they are fixed right away. I was never notified about this recall and now my vehicle may have possible damage because of it. My concern is that I wasn't notified and repairs might not be covered by kia. I ran my VIN number numerous times and nothing came up for a recall. I researched possible symptoms of what could cause what I experienced. I was surprised to learn that possible damage caused by the catalytic converter could be what happened to my vehicle. The following issues were loss of acceleration, loss of oil, loss of control in steering. Thankfully no engine fire though.
