January 21st 2021, went to a dealership in miami and purchased a used kia Soul plus. January 26th 2021, after leaving the post office car slowed down and came to a stop. Oil light was glitching prior to that day. Car was in drive and couldn't shift gears to park or neutral. Had to push the car into a parking lot and sit. Took to a kia dealership and they replaced oil gasket. Took the car home few days driving to and from work. February 9th car broke down again while turning inside parking spot. Car battery light and oil pressure light was both on. Car went back to kia dealership Thursday 11th. Kia looked at the car stating oil sludge was all inside the engine and repairs will cost $9,000. Used car is not under warranty.

Tl- the contact owns a 2014 kia Soul. The contact stated the failure related to NHTSA campaign number 19v120000(engine, engine and engine cooling) , however the vehicle was not included in recall . The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in recall on two occasions, the first occasion the contact stated while boyfriend was driving 60, the vehicle started to stuttered. The contact stated the vehicle was able to make it to residence. The contact stated check engine warning light was illuminated. After a month the vehicle was towed to independent mechanic where they replaced head gasket and valves. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The contact stated while driving 45 mph when the vehicle seized, the contact was able depressed brakes to stop vehicle. The contact stated check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to local dealer chantz scott kia located at 929 e stone dr, kingsport, TN 37660 where it was diagnosed with needing to be replaced entire engine. The vehicle had not been repaired as of yet. The manufacturer had been informed of failure, case was filed with manufacturer. The failure mileage was approximately 110,534.
