Oil Pump Problems of Kia Motor Soul

Engine sputters, burns oil car doesn't want to go over 50 moh we received multiple safety and recall letters brought to delearship numerous time there was a catalytic converter recall kia refused to fix we paid out of pocket now we having issues same issues they trying to blame oil pump expecting me to fix it when I got another safety recall letter from kia with all info listed that the car is doing.

My son bought a 2017 kia Soul less than a year ago with about 57,000 miles. On Tuesday oct 11, 2020 the car kept stalling when driving and then wouldn't start. Also, the oil pressure light kept flashing so he checked the oil. He had the oil previously changed on Aug 29, 2020. The dipstick came up empty. He added oil and when he drove it to firestone auto repair shop, the oil light flashed every time the car stopped at a light. Firestone first said nothing was wrong. He left there only to find it doing the same thing. It stalled when he was making a turn onto a busy road. He took it back to firestone where the diagnostic finally said it was a bad oil pump. They suggested to him to take it to kia because it would need a new engine. Ford/kia said the engine is blown and it is not under warranty because he is the second owner. The warranty for the second owner ends at 60,000 miles and this car now has 68,000 miles.

Was 2 miles from home when oil light blinked a couple of times. It quit blinking but engine started sounding like lifters knocking. Made it home that way. Next morning changed oil then tried to crank it. Cranked and ran about 30 seconds; oil light bright the entire time. Tried again same thing. Removed oil filter no oil getting to it. Talked to mechanics who said could be oil control valve gone bad. Pulled both and they were plugged with metal shavings. Knew then both oil pump and motor were bad. Called kia,was told that as I had bought it second hand that the 83000 miles on it made it out of warranty. That they could not help me.

2013 kia Soul+ 2. 0l engine. Merging into 50mph zone from one major roadway to another, my vehicle stalled during acceleration, and began making a thumping noise as I pulled over. As I stopped the car on the shoulder, the check oil light began flashing. I drove to a parking lot for a safe area, and called the company that recently changed the oil 4 days prior. They had it towed back to them for another look. They found that the oil pump was working correctly, but one of the pistons was not getting any oil and the rod had broken. I've owned this vehicle for approx. 7 months. I've never had a check engine light or any other indicators that an issue was pending.

When driving the vehicle, the engine started making a noise , I put it in neutral as I was pulling off the hiway and the motor quit running. Had to have it towed back to my house. I found out the next day that the motor had locked up. The motor had oil in it and the water was not low. The mechanic said the oil pump was probley bad. I called kia and they said they had no recalls on the vehicle. So now the car is sitting in my driveway with a blown motor and I am still making payments on the car for another 18 months.

My kia Soul 2012 has a noise at cold start that last 15 to 20 second, it feel like some thing loose. Dealer at sahara, las vegas nevada had it for three times and 4 days each time and the first time they said was the timing tensioner and they replaced, but noise still there so they have two times more and at the end the said the noise is the oil pump, os if it was the oil pump why they replace the timing tensioner ? the noise still every day in the morning, plus smelling gas by the motor and infest the whole garage, so I took it to dealer at henderson ,nevada cause I found oil leaking by ocv ( oil control valve, so they replace two ocv and still leak oil, so I realized looking deeply that first two injectors are leaking gas, mixing with oil. They asked if oil got on the garage floor and when I said : no yet, so they said can not do any thing. So, the services manager there just put all this information to see if a person from manufacture or some one higher than then can look it up. I think when they replace timing tensioner they did not put right the liquid gasket, cause I see the leaking from that place. I have those problem since I bough the car and I waste my time three times 4 or 5 days each without my car, cause they don't rent cars or even give you one to move.
