Service Engine Light On Problems of Kia Motor Soul

The cruise control was on my car started to excelerate and rev to high rpm without the engine shifting gears. . Then my service engine light and oil light came on the car making this horrible noise, I pulled over and the engine was barreling black smoke. I have been on the phone with kia reporting this, but they wanted $800 to tow it to the closest dealership, and it's kias recall fault that this happened. So my car which was still on the side of the road last week, is probably picked up and impounded by now. . . . Kia should take ownership, tow my car and fix it, or I will be more than happy to let my car go buy, file bankruptcy and never buy another kia. I have never been notified of but only one recall which I had my car serviced at that time in 2019 for that. This is total unresponsive responsibility by kia.

Tl- the contact owns a 2016 kia Soul. The contact stated that her vehicle had stalled on multiple occasion which prompted her to take the vehicle to an independent mechanic. The contact was informed about the recall NHTSA campaign number: 19v120000(engine, engine and engine cooling) by the independent mechanic. The contact took the vehicle to bramlett kia 3326 us-31, decatur, al 35603 (866) 750-3933 where initially only a system update was performed on the vehicle. The contact was informed that the only way the catalytic converter could be replaced was if the service engine light illuminated. When the light illuminated, the vehicle was serviced by the dealer. The contact stated that the pistons continued to knock on the vehicle and the dealer refused to service the vehicle due to the pistons not being recall. The contact stated that she then experienced another failure as her engine stalled while drive 70 mph on the highway. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered not further assistance. The failure mileage was 101,710. Jo.
