My husband was leaving work in 2005 Nissan Armada, he heard a strange grinding noise coming from front brakes as he tried to stop at a stop sign then realized he had no brakes. He managed to drive the 10 miles home with no brakes. We drove to nearest Nissan dealer the next day and was told it was an electrical issue in the master brake cylinder and would cost 900. 00 to fix. After checking online forums we realized this is an issue with many more owners, that Nissan fails to do anything about. How many people have to get seriously hurt before Nissan will admit that there is a serious issue with the brakes for this model.

2004 Nissan Armada with internal failure of the brake booster. The fist time the consumer experienced brake failure, Nissan agreed to replace the brake booster as a good faith gesture. However, on Friday July 9, 2010, she again experienced a problem with the brakes. When she turned off the vehicle and restarted it again, the dashboard lights went out and the brakes seemed normal. On Friday July 16, 2010 while driving 30 mph, the consumer attempted to brake and once again she experienced complete brake failure and the lights on the dashboard illuminated. Fortunately, she was on a straight gravel path and was able to bring the vehicle to a complete stop. The consumer returned to the dealer. They then claimed the problem was an internal failure in the maser cylinder, but would not provide her with a copy of the diagnostic codes to substantiate that the problem was indeed different.

The brakes are defective, they do not stop the vehicle. The master cylinder failed. Dealer stated they do not have the part. After the vehicle reached the 3000 mile mark the brakes began to squeak and whistle. On several occasions the vehicle brakes continued to have problems after service. The consumer stated that the calipers are binding against the rotors causing the rotors to have hotspots.
