1 Brake Popping Noise problem of the 2004 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 07/22/2013

As many, many other have stated on the Nissan forums, this vehicle has some dangerous braking issues. We have had our Armada for about 4 years and have experienced this issue at least nine times. Thankfully for us, it has not happened while we were on the freeway at high speeds or in a situation where we had to stop instantly. Here is an explanation of our issues: while applying the brake pedal we immediately heard a grinding and popping noise, as well as noises indicating that the abs was activating off and on. The pedal was very soft and kicks back multiple times. The braking effectiveness was severely diminished. We have to pull over, turn the vehicle off and on again before we can continue driving. I find this to be a sever issue which is going to get someone killed, if it has not already. More than a few class action law suites have been filed for this issue in the titan truck, Armada and Infiniti qx56 as they all share the same platform and parts.

Failure Date: 02/21/2012

The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Armada. The contact was driving 5 mph and making a turn while exiting a residential drive way. The vehicle then exhibited a popping noise from the steering wheel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the dealer confirmed that both front brake lines needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileages were 26,000.

3 Brake Popping Noise problem of the 2008 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 08/02/2010

The breaks effectiveness is significantly reduced, by as much as 60%, and it makes a popping and spring noise. When you apply the breaks, it makes a grinding sound. You must pull over, turn the car off, pump the breaks and then restart the car. You may have to turn the car off/on several times. I've paid thousands of dollars to various mechanics to have this issue resolved. It goes along fine for awhile, and then the problem repeats itself. It's intermittent and very dangerous. Also, the suspension makes a popping noise when you go over a dip in the road or make a sharp turn. These are evidently known defects and although I did get a recall notice from Nissan, when I brought my vehicle in, they spent 20 minutes looking at it and said everything was fine. It continues to happen. I'm recording this notification so it can be added to the many complaints I've found regarding both of these known issues. At what point is something going to be done for the consumers?? if there's a class action lawsuit, I'm in!!.

4 Brake Popping Noise problem of the 2007 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 03/01/2010

I have had this reoccurring experience off and on more than 10 times for at least the past 4 years. There is no known pattern of occurrence. It happens sometimes while I am driving and all of a sudden I hear popping or crunching noises below the vehicle and then the brake indicator light on the dash board will turn on. Then I feel I am loosing the ability to stop the vehicle as I carefully move over to the shoulder of the road with brake indicator light and popping noise still on. Due to this problem, my wife have stopped using this vehicle. Once safely off the road, this problem is often resolved by turning off and on the ignition and all will be well until the next occurrence. However, after yesterday's (09/27/2014) occurrence which was very scary, I called our nearest Nissan dealer and scheduled to have the vehicle inspected next Tuesday (10/01/2014). Out of curiosity, I decided to research this problem on the internet and was surprised to find hundreds of Armada owners with a similar problem and sense of helplessness with Nissan's reluctance to acknowledge this problem. I feel action should be taken immediately to address this potentially dangerous problem before someone losses their life.
