36 Service Brakes problem of the 2004 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 03/28/2022

This issue had been going on for years with my 2004 Nissan Armada. Driving down the freeway at approximately 70mph and the brake light comes on out of no where. When this happens there us no way to safe stop the vehicle because the brakes will not engage. There is this rattling and grinding sound that happens each time. The only way to safely continue is turn the truck off and back on. This needs to be corrected immediately before there is a fatal because of brake failure. Nissan refuse to research all the complaints.

38 Service Brakes problem of the 2005 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 03/09/2022

My breaking system has a malfunction that comes on and off. Sometimes the brakes automatically stop working and start grinding as if I have no brakes, but when I brought it to be looked at they couldn't find the problem. I notice that when you turn the car off and turn it back on the problems of sides for a little while will eventually come back later. For someone to detect it, they cannot shut the car off at the time that is presenting itself.

39 Service Brakes problem of the 2011 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 02/01/2022

My 2011 Nissan Armada started shaking very badly 8 months ago. Around that same time I had all 4 tires replaced. I took the car back to the place that put my new tires on (national tire and battery) and was told that the rack and pinion assembly needed to be replaced. They wanted $800-900 for the repair and to leave my car for 3 days which I could not do due to having only one vehicle. I took my car to a mechanic that dealt with electrical issues as well (motions automotive). They did what I felt like was a quick fix because the owner told the mechanic what he needed to do but the mechanic did a ride along with me, vocally stated what he wanted to do and reassured me he would do his best but the owner took precedence. Something was done to my air compressor(s) and it lasted a little over a week then went back to violently shaking every time I hit a bump or pot hole as well as the car taking a while to come to a complete stop. That happened from the beginning and I took it to the Nissan dealership twice and was told that’s normal. I have to stop far off from a stop sign or light to stop in time or just fly through. All of the recalls that the 2010 Armada has is all of the same issues I’m having which are very dangerous and life threatening. My suspension, rack and pinion, and brakes are all severely affected. I have 3 children and we love that car but as a single mother it fit my budget and family needs perfectly. I forgot to add that no warning lights are on nor were they ever on which worried me the most. I hope that someone can add the 2011 Nissan Armada to the 2010 Nissan Armada recalls. Thank you for your time!.

41 Service Brakes problem of the 2018 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 12/31/2021

My Nissan Armada is 4 years old with 42,000 miles and has needed two brake switches replaced on it to date. This is ridiculous! this car is completely unsafe. It has failed to start more times than I can count, and it most recently broke down on my on new years day. I had to have it towed. I have reported this issue to Nissan and they have done nothing to help make this right! I am now starting a facebook group (of other Nissan Armada owners that are experiencing the same issue) to file complaints against Nissan for this. This is a serious safety issue and needs to be resolved.

42 Service Brakes problem of the 2021 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 12/15/2021

I was driving a rented 2021 Nissan Armada. The brakes of this vehicle locked up when I was trying to avoid rear ending a car that had suddenly jumped in front of me. Instead of being able to control the braking, once I put the brake on, I tried to let up a little to see if I could stop the vehicle from skidding. However once I put my foot down on the brake it continued to stay depressed. I noticed that the vehicle was sliding and the steering wheel was also locked. I couldn't swerve to the left or right. I hit the van in front of me, the air bags deployed--driver's side air bag broke open and let out noxious gas. I have never driven a vehicle with such aeb troubles. If this is how the 2021 Nissan Armada acts, then other will find themselves not being able to avoid an accident as well. - cheryl d. , frederick, MD, us.

44 Service Brakes problem of the 2019 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 09/30/2021

Vehicle does not recognize that the brake pedal is being depressed when trying to start the car. Pushing the start button only cycles the ignition through the on and acc options. The only way to start the vehicle is to use the remote start function on the fob. Additionally, the vehicle experiences and displays a bci malfunction, aeb braking warning, and traction control indicator light is now on. These errors occur while using both key fobs even after replacing the fob batteries. There is a Nissan service bulletin for replacing the brake light switch for multiple Nissan vehicles.

45 Service Brakes problem of the 2017 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 08/16/2021

Bci malfunction. The car will not start, reverse, drive, brakes randomly, etc.

46 Service Brakes problem of the 2004 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 07/14/2021

As I was driving through the canyon at 55 mph I pressed on my brakes to begin to slow down for the construction zone coming up and they felt like air no pressure then there was a grinding sound like something was breaking underneath my vehicle as I let off my brakes the brake light came on and it sounded like a spring releasing under my vehicle. I attempted to use my brakes almost a dozen times attempting to stop with the same grinding and spring sound happening. Once I was finally able to come to a safe stop I turned my vehicle off and once I turned it back on the brake light was off and the pressure was back in my brakes.

47 Service Brakes problem of the 2017 Nissan Armada

My car won't crank or if it does it takes several attempts. I was told it was the brake light switch. I will be taking it back to the dealer ASAP.

48 Service Brakes problem of the 2007 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 05/12/2021

I've had several near collisions because breaks slip as though the abs system is engaged and the brake light comes on. I have to find an area to pull off to stop the car then restart it to get rid of the problem temporarily.

49 Service Brakes problem of the 2018 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 01/26/2021

Several times the engine will not crank and will not start. Can take up to 10 minutes sometimes before vehicle will start, leaving driver stranded. Twice now the bci malfunction (backup collision intervention) error came up on the dash along with other lights immediatly after engine startup. First time at 23,027 miles, and now recently at 32,081 miles. The first time, dealership said they "could not replicate the problem. " this recent time, the dealership said there was a service bulletin to replace a stop lamp switch (ntb20-065). We'll see if the problem is actually fixed. This should really be a recall considering the shear number of similar complaints about this issue. Plus the brake lamps may not work consistently, elevating the risk of a collision if other drivers aren't aware the vehicle is slowing down.

51 Service Brakes problem of the 2006 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 01/01/2021

The airbag light has been on for a while indicating that there is a defect in the airbags . The brakes light comes on randomly and the car brakes on its own without me applying the brakes and that is very dangerous especially on the highway and the transmission light comes on showing the 4x4 light as on for no reason and I would have it on just the 2 wheels.

52 Service Brakes problem of the 2018 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 12/28/2020

Yesterday I was sitting in a drivethru and all of a sudden the bci warning light came on the dash and a couple of other dash lights. Drove straight home and now the vehicle will not start. I will have to get a tow to the nearest dealer. Good thing I drove straight home otherwise I would have been stranded somewhere. My Armada only has 38,000 miles on it.

56 Service Brakes problem of the 2018 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 07/25/2020

7/25/2020 Nissan Armada platinum reserve - while driving down the canyon, I had the brakes start applying themselves then all the lights on the dash came on with a message "bci malfunction. " we were able to get pulled over safely and turn the car off. We then restarted the car and the light came on again, so we repeated the steps and the light went off. At our next stop, the car would not start no matter how many times we tried from the normal push button start. We were finally able to get it start by using remote start on the key fob. This is a major safety concern that is an ongoing issue with Nissan Armadas and infinity qx models, based on multiple forums online. This should be addressed immediately before someone get severely injured or even killed. 60k vehicle with 40k miles on it.

58 Service Brakes problem of the 2004 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 06/20/2020

In the last several weeks on two occasions since being purchased in Jan. F this year (2020) the brakes on my 2004 Nissan pathfinder/armada off-road rwd have out of the blue, once at highway speed chattered while applying the brake and felt like they were not at 100%. The next time it was on a residential street, had just left a residence a half block away doing under 20 mph and it felt like the whole front suspension was falling off because it was chattering so bad. Didn't even hit the brakes hard and was afraid it wasn't going to stop at the stop sign. It continued to do it every time I depressed the peddle even very lightly. I had to pull around the corner and stop to check it out but couldn't find anything loose or wrong. I started off again several times before just pulling over and stopping to call a tow truck. It did not feel safe to make the 20 minute drive home. Once it was home it was like it never happened. I read some blogs that suggest that this is a widespread issue with this vehicle and they should be recalled and fixed free of charge. They say there is a fix (reprogramming the computer or something). The blogs say that the dealers are charging big bucks to do the work. This is a huge safety issue and should be dealt with immediately. I can't believe that Nissan hasn't been forced to recall these vehicles before this since it is way too common according the blogs. We purchased this vehicle primarily to transport our grandchildren and are now very hesitant as well as there parents are to have them ride in this vehicle. The brakes have been fully inspected by a mechanic and no mechanical issues are present. We are the second owner and it has been very well maintained. Cause: unknown. I am looking for a dealer now to see what they will do for us.

61 Service Brakes problem of the 2018 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 01/19/2020

Vehicle suddenly would not start on 12/21/2019, thus leaving my family and I stranded in a brand new vehicle. (reported to Nissan roadside assistance) bci malfunction warning (see photo) and the vehicle began to automatically apply the brake as I was driving and I could not override it. I feel this is a safety issue, as I had no control over the vehicle whatsoever. Vehicles automatic emergency braking system applies the brakes while in motion and when I do not intend for the brakes to be applied, causing severe anxiety and fear of driving my brand new $60k vehicle.

62 Service Brakes problem of the 2019 Nissan Armada

63 Service Brakes problem of the 2018 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 11/01/2019

While driving car will start acting weird as though I'm have a little difficulty accelerating. Then a light will come on that looks like a car with a windy road. Then after a minute or two a ton of other lights will come on and an alert of bci malfunction will appear. Tried to google to see what other people have done to resolve and some have said that they have to pull over because the car has actually shit off on its own. So, I always try to pull over and turn the car off and back on. Sometimes the car will not turn back on and it will leave me stranded. I also have been in park when the alert came on and it would not allow me to shift into drive, again leaving me stranded. ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly #vpic#.

64 Service Brakes problem of the 2004 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 10/21/2019

Just recently purchased this huge monstrosity for my 3 children; today as we were driving the brakes completely went out! 10% braking power. Now im reading a 2016 class action and a lawsuit where a peron was killed. There are multiple posts regarding this issue. Nissan needs to recall this before more people are killed!.

65 Service Brakes problem of the 2019 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 09/04/2019

Bci malfunction message displayed on the dash along with other indicators. Vehicle wouldn't start. Service department suggested to continue to press the brake and push start button while I waited for road side assistance tow. After about 15 min the vehicle started. Minutes later the vehicle was on but would not move out of park. Continued to attempt while waiting for tow again and it eventually went out of park. The next day it would not start again and eventually did. Dropped off at dealer for service. Picked up that afternoon and was told they replaced the brake switch. I drove less than a mile away and the bci malfunction message came on again and displayed other warning lights again as well. I was back at the dealership within 5 minutes of departing and placed in the same small loaner vehicle that did not fit my family. Picked it up my Armada the next day around noon and was told they now replaced the brake sensor. Drove off and made one stop on my way back to work which is 4 miles from the dealership and before I made it there the bci malfunction light came on again. After much conversation and frustration the vehicle is back at the dealership for the 4th time for the same problem. I purchased the vehicle new June 13, 2019 and the problems started sept 4th 2019.

67 Service Brakes problem of the 2017 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 08/02/2019

Bought this used on June 25,2019 with approximately 46860 miles on it from wolfchase chysler in bartlett,TN. I am in the medical field and today (8/2/18) was trying to leave work today and my car would not crank. In the process, I noticed that the brake wouldn't catch and when I finally was able to crank it, the shifter wouldn't go out of park. It was stuck. This happened 2 more times before driving down the road on a trip and this warning light bci malfunction as we are driving down the road. My brakes became really touchy and I had to pull off the road to keep from having an accident. Then, I had to cut it off and keep trying to get it going bc I couldn't get the malfunction to go away or even come on to put it back in gear. This is a huge safety hazard and traveling with two children could have been extremely hazardous today. I am requesting Nissan and the dealership take responsibility for this problem after paying a huge price for a premium vehicle. . . The last thing I need to do is be broke down on the side of the road.

68 Service Brakes problem of the 2005 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 08/01/2019

While I was driving I applied the brakes and didn't have any and it made a loud sound I coasted to a stop turned car off. Called mechanic they came out and I had a blown fuse for my abs system they replaced it but now I am wondering if this will happen again?.

69 Service Brakes problem of the 2004 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 07/17/2019

Press brakes and they start jumping and make a weird sound, don't work correctly as if you loose your breaks for sometime, pull over shut car off wait and then restart and everything is back to normal - scary at high speeds on the highway, this has been a continous problem and even my work around is no longer working. This happens atleast once a month with continued driving so I use my other car more often than not.

70 Service Brakes problem of the 2004 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 07/15/2019

I was driving down the road around 45 to 50 mph. I looked down and when I looked back up a car was stopped in the road. When I pressed the brake it made a weird noise almost like a spring going boing and air rushing. The noise is very hard to describe. The pedal went almost to the floor. The brakes had a weird grinding sound and a lot of vibration in the pedal. I had the brakes down as hard as I could. The brakes did work a little but nothing like they should have. There was only a very small light in color skid mark. I let the officer know after the crash. After looking into it I discovered this is a known problem. I was not injured but people in the other car were.
